I doubt that the shooter would have had access to armed munitions either unless on sentry duty at the gate, in which someone would have quickly noticed that the gate posted was absent at his post and missing with munitions gone prompting a scale-down search of the base.

Also, why now is there no mention of the other two in custody?

I was wondering that too. Maybe they are on their way to gitmo....

So when the Christian soldiers rape and kill innocent people, you know, the innocent people they're supposed to be protecting, does that mean Christianity is a violent religion or does it mean you've spent too much time eating your moms cereal?

I will not "chill" when i am in a "breaking news" forum and listen to the insults thrown out about our military when 12 of them were just murdered by dare i say Muslims. I will defend my brothers from attacks like this.

Be careful man, I already received a warning from a Mod earlier for calling out Zosynspiracy and saying he was trolling the thread. I would just sit back and try to ignore his comments as best you can and not give in to his off-topic tirades.

(For the Mods: I mean this post as constructive feedback for the poster so he doesn't get bagged like I was)

Back on topic, I truly am glad that this is over and I am listening to the news feeds trying to find any updates to share. Like before, as soon as I know anything that isn't already here I will share it with everyone.

So it's wrong to be a Muslim?

Islamic terrorism in Texas?

No way.

By the way I'm in Texas now, just stopped, Wichita Falls to be exact... I swear I was no where near Ft. hood today.

I believe there is far more to this story than anyone here will ever know.

Better get the FBI in there quick to clean up the mess, and control the situation, especially leaks to the media.

They aren't CHRISTIAN. They MAY be Christian. They may be pagan, or atheist, or agnostic, or Jedis.

One side is clearly in a religious war. The other isn't. I know that doesn't suit your purposes, but it is still the truth.

We've been conditioned to accept the concept of home grown terrorists since 9/11, and here some are. Expect to lose some liberties because of this.

Well, if they were military personnel...then why punish civilians by taking away liberties? Makes no sense...and would go over like a fly in the punch bowl.

Well if it turns out that they are military, then I still don't see what different it makes. Terrorists are terrorists, it hardly matters if they are civillian or military.

Political capital will be made out of this, I have no doubt. What do you think will happen? If nothing happens, people will complain. I'm thinking something to do with "gun grabbing" will happen as a result of this. Or maybe they will further enforce surveillance.

Take 9/11 for example, they managed to somehow score themselves a nice little war out of that one. Also the patriot act. Scanners that can see through your clothes. A list as long as you can see of stuff we have lost because of one single terror attack. I can easily see the loss of civil liberties happening from this as a continuation of 9/11

Interesting that he hasn't started yet about the situation.

Edit: Ok he started talking about it now...

That's what I'm thinking, too. He just sort of dropped it in the middle of a list, like he was telling what he had for lunch.

"I had a hamburger, some fries, some soldiers got killed, a large coke, and pie for desert".

I realize that he probably wanted to get SOMETHING out there to say he's on top of it, so as not to be percieved to be slacking like Bush did after Katrina. Maybe it's just me, but did it seem to anyone else that he seemed distinctly... non-reactive? Like it wasn't that big of a surprise?

I dunno, maybe just trying to project a calm and cool front...

Not going to do anything positive if we start to divide ourselves here and reduce down to a pot of boiling cesspool sludge.

There are the dead, the wounded and the killers. Pray for them all...

Something is very wrong here. First it was a high powered assault rifle, now it's two hand guns. 42 people hit with two handguns. Either that guy was the best shot in the history of shooting, or this is a flat out lie.

If it happened in a confined area, its definitely plausible. That's basically what happened at Virginia Tech, which only involved handguns.

You can cap it all you want, but the fact they proclaim to be Christian should not be held against christianity right? Why? Because all Christians don't ascribe to those things right? If all muslims ascribed to a "War of religions", you would have a point, but since it has been shown that many don't, you just wasted your time posting, and I just wasted my time replying, and I don't like having my time wasted.

Way to ignore what I am saying so that you can continue your tirade to make it into a religious war by pretending that someone is arguing the oposing side for you.

If the wounded are Scientologists, I hope they send Cruise after you.

I hope you were joking or being sarcastic about Islamic terrorism in Texas.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet anywhere in Texas (unless you count downtown Dallas a month or so ago).

Or maybe it's just that I live down the street from what I would bet my life on is a sleeper cell.

This is a breaking news thread I suggest you create a new forum we can all avoid. Or maybe heaven for bid post news!

Our troops really are being stretched to the breaking point. Obama is well aware of it. Some of these men and women are on their 5th and 6th deployments into Iraq and Afghanistan. It's hard on them it's hard on their families. At a certain point it would get to be like playing Russian Roulette I would imagine in their minds. I have to go back is this one going to be the one.

We are asking way to much of our troops. I am anti-war but I argued months ago to just reinstate the draft, really surge the troops into Afghanistan and Iraq, really secure the places and get the job done and people home.

These men and women are being asked to be little more than security guards and jailers in highly hostile environments where they are tragically out numbered and have none of the culture comforts of home.

I am anti-war, but if there must be war, make it quick and swift and the reality is we have the ability as a nation to do that and aren't, and Obama is very well aware of the stress levels that have resulted in unprecedented troop suicides both here and abroad.

It's shameful.

There is no "side in a religious war." That is what you fail to grasp.
