I was hoping you would come Phage! I have seen that third image before, and I have seen very small examples of straight lines also, but this one we are looking at on the moon is quite a bit bigger right? Or is it not? I might be wrong.

Besides that though, there isn't any other landscape around this to tell us it's a natural rock. It's just unremarkable terrain until we get this artificial looking thing with straight lines and angles. In your images the formations don't stick out quite like a sore thumb the way this does.

So I guess I should change impossible to HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Would you agree with me on that maybe? Also, can you help us understand how such formations are made? I would love to know what process makes those perfect lines!

Thanks Phage, as always you deliver!

BUT I STILL DON'T BELIEVE IT IS A ROCK!!

Sorry people, but am I the only one who looks at the first picture of the thread and thinks this is as fake as a pornstar's breast? You can clearly see the tampering around the object with the naked eye...

Very intelligent.
Yes that was my first thought as well.

No angles? No straight lines? Really?

You are taking those images which are clearly a result of water erosion and trying to compare with a huge structure on the moon. Sorry but it doesn't fly with me.

Speaking of the moon, where in the heck is it?!
I've been looking up towards the sky,but haven't been able to locate it anywhere!
It's been like this for the past week now,no moon,it has seemed to vanish.

The Chinese found out it was really a large round hunk of cheese and they towed it behind the sun where they have a billion of their space workers busy cutting it into small hunks for transport and delivery.

Yep, good ol' fashioned columnar jointing.

Those are actually some really nice pics of it.

Hmm.

Add:

Oh now I see, you are trying to compare a geologic process from a planet with water to structures on a moon where you don't believe there is geologic activity.

What is your angle dude? What are you trying to prove? Are you a space alien trying to trick us?

Seriously, columnar jointing from our current scientific understanding should not happen on the moon. As far as those being evidence of nature producing structure, it happens all the time, but the truth will be revealed. Then we can discuss this, if society doesn't collapse in the process, that is.

Well I have read that upon the collapse of our civilization, the removal of the moon will occur. That it is some sort of observation device from eons ago when people would hollow out rocky bodies and would use them as space ships.

I am not sure which is a more reliable perspective, however I do love dairy cheese (I refuse the other types on ATS, usually), so who knows?

You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Those geological "anomalies" weren't caused by water nor wind. Not even by erosion.

It's caused by the geological process itself.

i think.... i can relate to that one..... tnx to easynow....

or talking in a more 'geological' sense...... could you please explain about more simpler features.... like say craters..... in relation to the carolina bays

When you don't have all the answers but you do have "The Answer" who cares about the small stuff. Why don't you go watch some rocks cleave asunder dude.

Mods...is there any way you can divide the flags for this thread between ocker, donkey86 and mcmauro?

I didn't do any original work on finding the item and only created the thread about it. Therefore the flags really belong to them.

I've also emailed the BBC about the item in the hope that some of their tech people can give an opinion as to what they think it might be. I don't really expect a reply, but thought it worth trying anyway.

Cheers my friend, but i pass without the stars or flags, you deserve it fully by initiating this thread, more the first pictures i saw were from donkey86, but nobody care to answer, give the experts an youtube video or bart simpson in mars and they all came running. Star for you!

Good find! Or another trick from google? Other perspectives:

For comparaison:

A truck in the desert in google earth, the last one just to show that even if you go beyond the resolution of the original picture, you can still figure the object, will you mistake this for a rock?? Of course not, is not in the moon!

great side by side comparison. im not convinced its natural or a rock. i think the side by side of google earth showing trucks as flat and the moon pics just put more doubt in my mind about this being a natural formation on the moon. good finds
