Expect some large Volcanic eruptions along the South America in the coming few weeks, as the Subduction zone is already in force I wouldnt be too surprised to see Popcapetyl, Chaiten or Galeras having some VE4/5 eruptions

That's a good theory aswell...... but for the next couple of weeks? Is there any reason you assume this will happen??

I'm still seeing a lot of activity along the San Andreas....wonder if that one will be the next to pop??

As the Plate slides under South America and the rock turned to Magma through internal heat and pressure the Magma will then have to surface again somewhere under the Andes. However Volcanism isnt directly linked to Tectonic activity (though it occurs in the same areas), what happens is there's hundreds of channels which the Magma takes in order to get the volcano. The myth of a magma chamber beneath any volcano with a "pipe" leading straight down is completely wrong, think of it like a upside-down tree with the chambers/tunnels all leading to the main stump.
It obviously would take quite a while for Magma 150 miles down to reach the surface, hence why I estimate some serious big eruptions or explosive events in the coming few weeks and more depending on how long this Earthquake Wave lasts.

Rob,

Thanks for the very informative geology lesson!! You would think that after spending almost 500 pages on "the yellowstone" thread i would know something about volcanoes but this i didn't know..

i read a book years ago, that said something about an earthquake in the usa, that would hit a spot where earthquakes were rare or non-existent. and that it would be so bad, it would get around the clock coverage. any idea what state could be at risk for such a thing, using your understanding of earthquake activity and so on?

I know very little about earthquakes, so I have to ask a question. How out of the ordinary is this earthquake behaviour? Do earthquakes of this magnitude and scale happen all the time, and we're just noticing this because our attention has been drawn to it?

As for this thread the OP is trying to say don't read too much into webbot.
And went on to make is own prediction and he's been right turns himself in to an earthquake guru.
But do not take this too serious he was just trying to prove a point about webbot and got very lucky.
On the other point i'm no expert but there is a uptick in earthquake's but it could be normal.
Read the opening post says it better than i could i just confused myself with this post.

THANKYOU

Well i recon they would be talking about the New Madrid Seismic Zone

But as far as i know that has more to do with an ancient supervolcano that used to be there.... I'd suggest you asked alysha.angel...

Well i beg to differ....

I said i logically analysed data and assumed a big quake would hit somewere around a ceratin hotspot because of a few factors which i saw early on in the month....

That is not the same as "getting lucky"...

It also surely means something if earthquakes, which are supposed to be unpredictable and unforecastable, are suddenly appearing in a predictable fashion. It suggests to me that this could be only the beginning of something that will either build up to a crescendo, or naturally spread itself out and dissipate.
