This is very interesting, it does look like a large complex, but is this the artist’s intent, or is it the intent of the complex creator for it to look like a work of art?

This is a very intriguing puzzle.

If you where the artist doing a project that big, surely you would make it look like something on its macro scale, exhibiting it as a peice of art in the air, aswell as ground level, its certainly big enough.

This place looks amazing on the ground level, but from the air, it doesn't seem to be anything.

Also, the length and breadth of it just don't look right. It looks more like an airport landing strip to me than a city. Although, without the strip of course.

That farm is very curious. First off, I can accept that the farm is there purely for feeding the artist and his workers. That said, if this was a city for 'the elite' when the SHTF, or if it is an apocolyptic bunker, the farm would also make alot of sense.

I would have to agree though, there is no chance that this will be open for the public, 2010 or otherwise. Just my opinion.

Nice post Zorgon. S&F without a doubt. Great work as usual.

Art with sludge ponds/lagoons! I'm assuming that is what those reddish brown colored things are. But what is that stuff? Any ideas?

I don't know about the gas chambers and cloak and dagger stuff, but just out of curiosity I did look up Mist Oregon on Google Earth. Just to the NW of mist is a large rectangular area which is purposely blocked from view by Google. This really angers me because we all know that ANY foreign government or spy type who wants to see an aerial view of what is there can easily do so. That being said, the only remaining reason to block the area from view is to keep it from the general public.

If anyone is interested you can go to Google earth and look for Mist, Oregon or here are the coordinates of the center of the blocked out area:

46.00' 26.18" N 123.15' 40.30" W

The blocking out is done in green to match the surrounding area so unless someone zoomed in on that spot they would likely not know it was there.

Look at the size of the house, and compare that to the size of the farm.

A farm the size of a house could feed one person. Now calculate how many houses fit into the farm. That farm is large enough to feed a lot of people.

For example, I square foot yields 1 lb of potatoes. 1500 sq ft bungalow? 1500 lbs of potatoes. That's 4 lbs of potatoes a day. Most people eat around 1lb per meal. That is just one growing cycle, I'm not sure what the growing conditions are like out there, but I am also wondering where and how this guy set up the irrigation needed to grow such a massive farm in the middle of the desert. Look around, there is no vegetation anywhere.

I did a rough estimate of only the back section of farm which with using google scale feature seems to be around 460m by 200m. That translates into 984000 square ft.

The earlier figure for potato yield was quite high. Instead lets use an average statistic of many crops. This site claims that one acre produces 10, 642 lbs of food per acre of land.

Now at 984000 sw ft of farm, that equals around 22.5 acres. Which means, this farm can produce around 240,000 lbs of food. That is a lot of food. So, is this guy an artist, or a farmer?

And let me remind you I didn't even calculate the smaller patch of farm next to the house. Only the area in the back.

I understand the concept of "hiding in plain sight"...

...however, wouldn't it be a MUCH, MUCH more of an effective manner of hiding a secret base to simply make it look like the surrounding desert?

I mean WHY would you hide a base "in plain sight" when the alternatives seem much more effective?

He should have thrown in a pyramid and an obelisk.
I could have done a better job.
Make the obelisk solid titanium and platinum plated. That way
it would last forever.

Apparently the work is not completed until 2010. It could all be coated in cryptonite for all we know. Something perhaps. I'm guessing whatever doesn't interfere with the purported properties of a tinfoil hat.

Cheers,

Erik

My suggestion about the farm was just off the top of my head, I get what you're saying as far as the seemingly huge amount of crops, no need to delve into mathematical formulas. I too wondered about the possibility of some hidden irragation system, the oddity of a farm in the middle of the desert struck me immediately.

Maybe he funds his art by farming?

Maybe the crops are food for a bunch of people living in an underground base disguised on the surface as one man's 30 year art project?

I'm open to anything, believe me.

What's your take?

I'm 99% you have just located SkyNet. It's not at Crystal Peak, it's here!!

One could argue that the installation that houses the computer that will orchestrate the death of all man kind, as a "work of art".

I know, I'm dark.

We can only speculate, but if there were an underground base the farm would make it convenient to feed the people inside. It would reduce the amount of trucks coming in and out for supplies.

If it were only for an income, who designed and paid for the irrigation. Because for that size farm I think it would need a pretty hefty irrigation system.

You do see all the other desert crops out there right? That are all circular patterns because of the design of the irrigating systems. This man did what, developed his own system? or somehow created one more effective than commercial farmers? An where does he spend his time, working on the farm or working on the project. I live in an area where there are a lot of farms. I don't see that farm making very much money at all especially considering the cost of wholesale foods. I do though, see it feeding a huge number of people.

Farming isn't a big money maker, which is why it is usually passed down from generation to generation. A lot of farmers are considered wealthy because of property value but day to day, the majority earn enough to get by and during good times they earn enough to save in case of a bad growing season.

It just doesn't make any sense for this farm to be out there. If someone can come up with a theory as to why it's there I'm all ears.

Well sure... but why bother? I find them anyway... like this tent covering a machine bigger than a house..

I haven't found that runway with the camo cover yet that the Nevada inspector mentioned. (he inspected the concrete). It retracts like a pool cover when not in use

I highly doubt that it's art. Reason 1) It is out by Area 51 and way out where no one can easily drive to see this "art". Isn't that what art is for....people to see and admire? This brings me to point number 2) If it were a secret base, they sure as hell wouldn't disguise it as art. As pointed out before.......people admire and look at art, intently. Who the hell would want people eyeballing a secret base? It wouldn't be secret then would it? Looks like a training ground or bombing range for an alien civilization..........maybe a replica of some civilization that is not even here on earth and is used to train men. Kind of like an al-quieda training base but just to train against aliens instead of humans. At any rate, I would suspect that any secret base would resemble it's surrounding terrain...so as to hide it. As for this being art? Too expensive for way out in desert land where there is no one to admire it. Maybe it's Dick Cheney's house.

Zorgon, seriously man can you give the gooberment a little privacy, jeez. They can't take a dump without you handing them some toilet paper from the stall next to them.

Now I know why your "photo" is hanging in every spooks office I've been too.
