First this is what you get when you request a COPY of a birth certificate. It is simply the clerk / registrars official statement that there is an ORIGINAL complete birth certificate on file with them.

Now as to if this registrar had a reason to lie about such a thing and do it back on Feb 17th 1964 is another question. But weren't his parents getting a divorce in 1964?

Maybe someone needed to get a copy of his birth certificate to complete the paperwork for filing the divorce child custody stuff?

Does anyone know exactly when their divorce was final?

Unfortunately race IS an issue. Where was the concern about John McCain's Panamanian birth? Even if there had been a row and ruction about it, I imagine the critics would have swiftly shut up when presented with the fact that according to the State Department, American citizen parent = American citizen child.

For some reason, Obama's getting this special attention, the people pushing it cannot accept simple facts about how US citizenship work, and they're bending over backwards to tuck their heads into their own colon. Can't claim it's partisan - No other Democratic candidate had to put up with this crap.

So, what could it be?

He's a brown man who's name isn't anglo-saxon. Now I know most Republicans like to pretend otherwise, but race does usually factor into their smear campaigns. remember John McCain's "illegitimate black baby" (that is, his adopted daughter) that the Bush campaign used to try to smear him with? The Tennesee race where the GOP ran ads of a white woman flirting towards the black candidate? Many other examples. Even if the rank and file Republican supporters aren't themselves racist, they readily latch onto campaigns and tactics that are.

This birth certificate is an outgrowth of the attempt to paint Barack Obama as "not one of us" because of his color, because of his name, because of his upbringing. It's no different than "HE'S A MUSLIM!" that was the big thing around here not too long ago.

It's already been established beyond any doubt that Kenya was not a republic until Dec. 12 1964. The document was allegedly signed on Feb 17. 1964 when Kenya was not a republic. This was established pages ago. You've been on this thread for awhile now, what's the matter? This is a faked document.

From what I've read, McCain would've been eligible because he was born on a military base, and the courts has previously said that military bases are American soil.

Even if there had been a row and ruction about it, I imagine the critics would have swiftly shut up when presented with the fact that according to the State Department, American citizen parent = American citizen child.

This issue isn't whether Obama is a citizen, but where he was born. As it stand right now, a president has to be born in the United States. That is why Arnold couldn't be president. That is why your neighbor down the street who just became a citizen can't be president.

When the founding fathers put the natural born clause in the Constitution though, the issue of loyal was at hand I imagine.

Yes ! We're both agreed one one fake at least.

But the certificate Flyers Fan has produced, the one you think the jury is still out on, well, I think that one's fake too. It doesn't read right, it seems to be on A4, English & colonial certificates (and even the Kenyan birth certificate from 2008 quoted earlier) are more horizontal than they are vertical, they're invariably in red ink, they're wordier, more pompously written (in an imperial sense) ... and just more impressive. That and the Republic thing, which Flyers may or may not be right on during this transition period, the price of it ...

Just not convinced.

It was stated earlier in the thread that there was a transition period. It wasn't like, one day they weren't a republic and they they were at midnight.

It's like in America. Territories don't really "become" states until July 4th. As, what I learned, that is when the get their star and their representatives in Congress. Before that though, they go through a transition period, where things get turned over from territory to state. I bet, if you found someone who was born in, let's say, Alaska before July 4th of the year Alaska ascended to statehood, their BC would say "State of Alaska", despite not being entirely true.

Oh I just GIVE UP!

I tried to put forth real evidence, backed up by real sources and using actual laws to deny ignorance.

But I guess that's not what people want on this site.

This is a true statement only if one thinks that parts of the Constitution, as they stand, don't matter anymore. If the "natural born clause" isn't important anymore, 2/3 of the States should vote to amend the Constitution.

What´s the matter? It would not be uncommon after the declaration of independence to use the term Republic on official documents, especially if you are eagerly waiting to be recognised as a Republic.

My second point: an elaborate fake as this is, IF it is a fake would certainly not include a simple mistake like THAT.

So, not convinced by this argument.

Let´s see Book 44B page 5733 of the Birth registration records.
Let´s see other documents of the era referencing Republic of Kenya -or lack thereof-

The evidence the copy is fake is flimsy at best, so is the evidence it is real.

Confirmation needed either way.

This is what I've been saying ever since I first heard about this controversy. Everyone seems to just assume that Biden would become the POTUS if Obama were to be found ineligible. But, as you've stated, it would seem to make the Obama/Biden ticket void. Or at least the Obama part of it, which would make his presidential electoral count zero, and would make McCain the POTUS.
