I donno if this post was aimed at me but I just want to say....

I wasnt trolling. I did bring my sister up but only because someone said something like we all deserve to die (those posts have been deleted by mods now). So I said "did my lil sis deserve to die?". Thats how the whole thing got started. My sister DID NOT deserved to die. She was a beautiful wonderful young women she was a angel! 19 years old she died, so young. She was kind, giving and loving and a caring person, all around a great person. She didnt have a mean bone in her body. I really miss her .

This is a very touchy subject for me and hits close to home. I don't like people wishing death on me or justifying my sisters death. Its not right. I'm a young man with a wife and wonderful daughter, how you think they would feel if I died? They rely on me, their lives would fall apart. I bet (I dont know) most of you in this thread havent had a family member die in war. You dont know how it is. If someone says something about my fam or wishes death on me or any american, I will defend myself. I am also a PROUD marine and PROUD american and I dont like spitting on us. I also love my sister dearly and shes always in my thoughts so if someone says something I deem offensive (like saying marines deserve to die), I sometimes bring her up.

This is a VERY sensitive topic for me.

The OP story of this thread points out that there are some sick and really destructive and stupid people in this world. That's the case wether the OP is true or not...

The arguments seem to me to come from the fact that everyone here knows what this is all about. The US and Isreal are bound to be compared and contrasted with Iran.

Stories of Iranian atrocities are expected and purposeful, I'm afraid... there will be many more. I'm sure there are WMDs , too - and- it's not about oil, you know.

It is going to take a massive effort even in light of recent mass-stupidity , to convince people to support more invasions now that we are broke / tired of the obvious liars / and, did I mention... BROKE ( ? ) .

These people ( Iranians/Persians ) haven't invaded anybody in pert near 300 years. People will need to be dumbed down immensely or false - flagged to death ( pardon the expression ) to get behind this one.

People who quote incidents of US soldiers sexually abusing women are missing the point of this thread. That behaviour is also barbaric, inhumane and deeply immoral. However, it is not done in the name of religion. Those individuals are breaking the laws of their own country are likely to be punished appropriately when evidence emerges that substantiates these claims.

The very disturbing thing about this incident mentioned in the OP is that Sharia Law encourages and supports this behaviour! Women who are married and raped against their will have these things done to them with the backing of the Iranian Judicial system! If you still cannot see the difference between the two then you are simply embracing, not denying, ignorance.

Great post! I agree completely. A lot of people think soldiers who do bad go unpunished... they dont. They get charged. When I was in iraq there were some guys who killed innocents, they got charged and are sitting in prison now. So most these people dont go unpunished, I admit some do, but not much. It is ILLEGAL for marines to kill innocents.

And I dont want to see anyone saying "then all marines should be in jail because all iraqis are innocent". Sorry but jihad extremists and terrorists arent innocent.

No I cant at all - you are completely missing the point - the original post has been debunked a dozen times on this thread as Israeli / US propaganda - the links and sources are all FALSE - therefore not only do the US engage in illegal acts of rape, torture and murder on their prisoners - sanctioned by the supreme authority - but they also FALSELY ACCUSE OTHERS OF DOING IT in order to drum up hatred and subsequent support to further their killing / raping spree of non Americans - I mean how blatant do we need to get on this -

Take a guy. Give him supreme authority over a country. Call him Supreme Leader, Emperor, King, Lama, Inka, Caliph, Pope, Shaka, Raja, Füher, Chairman, whatever.

Have this guy and give him full control of the local form of the military and police forces. Have this organization exalted to a state of near-godliness as well.

Then tell him there are enemies within his state.

You will get this exact same result out of any authoritarian regime, from the Sumerians all the way to Iran and even, apparently, America In Iraq. Any place where power is absolute and supported by violence, this is what you get.

But riddle me this, you joined the army for money, as did your sister, you joined up and killed people for money - so tell me did these people deserve to die ? And if they did not - as they didn't - then why did you kill them.

It seems to me that you are willing to kill people who do not deserve to die when it suits you and there is money to be made - but get confused as to why people would throw this logic back at you - I am against all killing - unless its food - but I would like to know how you can make these statements regarding your sister when you have clearly set these same morals aside when it suits you - it is the very height of hypocrisy -

WE HAD NO OTHER OPTINS FOR MONEY OTHER THAN MARINES. We were young with no work experience and I had a baby on the way with my wife and I and were also living with my sister who I had to support too... we were all in 1 bedroom section 8 project apartment.

I joined in 2001 and EVERY CENT I make Isent home to my sis, kid and wife. MY sister wanted to go to college but we are very poor so this was really the only option for her. I didnt want her join

hey man, i understand your upset and have every right to be upset, but what AUDUS said was not an attack at you or your sister. i believe he was positing a rational question to you that should really make you think about what killing is, who has the right to do it, who is to determine who should die, etc.

if you set your ego and emotions to the side and try and look at it objectively, the poster was trying to be helpful almost. the first thing that was said is that nobody deserves do die. that includes your sister. but that should also include those "evil" people in other countries.

Dude, those posters are extremists, there are quite a few on ATS, from both sides of the coin. It's pretty much like reading Osama Bin Laden's opinion. They honestly couldn't give a rats arse about innocent lives, and most of them in actuality love unintended casualties by the US or Israel, as it gives them an object to direct their religous hatred (cloaked in fake outrage) at. Funny how precious life is to these extremists when it suits them.

I personally don't care about moral high grounds myself. I couldn't give a crap about all these posters who are telling us to stay out of it. F them, plain and simple. We are all human beings, we all share ONE planet, it's every bit our right as human beings to clean up our back yard. We can't move forward as a species, with large backwards societies. I'm SICK of some of the things that go down in this world, and I personally don't feel we should have to tolerate the mental and physical torture of undeserving, innocent women and children day in and day out by hairy pieces of crap who have major inferiority complexes. It's time to clean house, and welcome those women to dignity and self respect. That's the way I feel, and all you who support those laws and societies are LUCKY i'm not the president. Sure, some innocents would die (mostly at the hands of the extremists hiding amongst them like cowards), but we would try and avoid it as much as we could. In the long run, there would be less suffering, and our species would be better off. That's the way of this planet, sometimes it has to rain fire to make room for change and progress.
