Franky I am SICK of people telling me I should ashamed because I'm a solder. I love my country and I am a PROUD soldier...

And once again... if marines kill innocents they go to prison most the time, they dont get off the hook. In my tours over there about 30 guys or so got in trouble and they are now rotting in jail. Killing innocents is ILLEGAL. They get punished to the fullest extent of the law. Believe me I've seen it.

We are taught to protect ourselves, innocent civialans... the only people we kill are the extremists or whatever you wanna call them.

I AM NOT a cold blooded killer. I'm a good guy, I'm a family man who has supported my wife and daughter since we were teenagers.

I hope youre able to get decent medical treatment, and hopefully speech and cognitive therapies. Nutritionally, take a good vitamin B complex, and supplement with glutamine if possible. Both are good supplements for brain injuries and such.

Yeah I was told I;ll slowly get it bac. but I will always have some brain damage. It pisses me off because I used to be really smart guy.

atleast my wife and daughter didnt leave me. I've had friend who also got hurt one way or another in iraq and when they came back the wife and kids didnt want him

so f;ing sad.

It's important to consider the source when people tell you that. Usually, it is someone who is a follower and conditioned to believe a certain way, without thinking about it at all. They think they are the ones who are thinking outside the box, the ones who are enlightened to the ways of things, but they don't think at all. They recycle purely anti-establishment views, and always side with the underdog, regardless how vile the underdog truly is. Our government is corrupt, and it's currently geared to benefit only the rich. But soldiers are NOT to blame, we the people are to blame, for voting for candidates from either of the major parties. That said, we do NOT allow people to be treated the way they do in those backward societies. They are by far the greater evil.

You're still smart, you just have to retrain yourself to relay your thoughts, i'm sure it's very frustrating, but cognitive therapy works really well if you relax and realize there will be small set backs, but not to let them anger you. Just go with the flow, your body will heal fastest in a state of less stress. I know that's a tall order after all you've been through, but like i said, you may come out of this with abilities others don't have. Patience is key.

Yeah, it works. I had insomnia pretty bad, couldn't turn off my brain. But just learning to relax and not stress over how much sleep i got made it go pretty much go away completely, without meds and crap. Stress is the worst hinderance to progress.

It's not about heaven. They cannot (due to their own laws) execute a virgin.

I generally have no hatred for soldiers but most in the US are often working class kids that turn to the military as way to get a trade for later life or funds to go to college. Being a soldier in the forces of a superpower is not particularly life threatening even during war. The life expectancy of a gangbanger in East LA is far shorter than a front line trooper on the hills of Afghanistan.

What I consider brave are the volunteer doctors in famine zones, the likes of Mahatma Ghandi, firemen, straight police officers, the scientist working a life time to find a cure for a disease, children surviving in a war zone.

Apparently people that would do this assume that Allah is stupid and easily conned.

A sham marriage followed by a rape makes it OK to execute someone.

Somehow I don't think that is following the spirit of the law.

Thank you for providing such a clear example of why we as humans need to forcefully stand against the existence of sharia law, and any society that behaves in this way in the name of extreme religion. However, dropping nuclear weapons on a mostly innocent population is just as vile and inhuman as what that link shows. That's throwing the baby out with the bath water in the worst way. The population of Iran mostly consists of youth who want to join this century, and enjoy basic human freedoms. I believe we should help them, not kill them all.

I grew up in a ultra poor area below the poverty line surrounded by gangs. The worst of the worst of american ghettos. Iraq was MUCH more dangerous than my neighborhood. I was never shot in my neighborhood, sure I've seen plenty of shootings but I was never shot. I was shot in iraq though. Sorry but iraq is much more dangerous.

And why are you offended by his comment anyways. That comment had nothing to do with you. Not everyone hates soldiers and I for one love the very few compliments I get amongst the mountains of hatred I recieve just for being a marine. The compliments make me smile and frankly I've had a very hard life and something as small as a compliment can brighten my day.

I dont think I've ever said anything directly to you and I sense hostility. I assume you have a problem with because of my views on islam and that I'm a proud soldier.
