NO - the Title is CORRECT - from what I am reading - It was the biggest - from what others have said.

I couldn't care less about people flaming over my statements - the facts are the facts.

You have no facts, in your last update all you have managed to add is that Mr Owen has seen 'some of the largest sunspots he has ever seen'.
Which leads me to believe the guy has not seen many. Dont just rely on NASA, anybody can look at these spots on their own, and anybody who has will tell you it is not the largest and never was the largest. You are reading the Gympie freaking times which is wrong, and Mr Owen has not stated its the largest ever merely one of the largest he has seen.
Your thread title is wrong!!! You are dumbing down the population.

Truth WILL GET OUT - AND IT DOES Correspond with the Crop Circles!!

So you are going to throw another article written in AU about this same owner of the "Wampa Hills" whatever, re-iterating your point ("biggest sun spot ever!"), which you are so desperately clinging to despite all of the facts that prove this to be false. I even personally went to the trouble of looking through numerous (maybe hundreds of) images from over the past few years so that you could see that we have had sunspots bigger than this, over the last 4 years, all of which occurred during "solar minimum". I am starting to think I wasted that time since you probably didn't even look at it.

This is getting really lame Questioning all. You are posting bogus headlines, and standing behind them with your own convictions, while trying to claim them as facts. All evidence is pointing to all of this not being fact, but rather a fallacy; from satellite images, to space weather instrumentation, to NASA and NOAA reports, not to mention my own two eyes when comparing the pictures which I mentioned posting a couple pages back.

So this owner of "Wampa Falls whatever" has first made the claim that the sunspot is "60 to 80 times the size of earth", however now he is sighting the website www.spaceweather.com as a source. According to spaceweather.com:

Today, the sunspot is growing again: movie. It now measures 125,000 km from end to end, almost as wide as the planet Jupiter.

Now I don't know if that measurement of 125,000 km is even correct, because it would really need to be validated by others including NASA....however let us assume that that is a correct measurement, if it were that would indeed be correct that it is "almost as wide as the planet Jupiter". BUT the planet Jupiter is only 11 times the size of the earth:
Jupiter — Diameter: 142,984 KM
Earth — Diameter: 12,756 KM
Jupiter = arox 11.2 times larger than earth.

With this being said, and again resting all on the assumption that the measurement of 125,000 KM is correct, then the title of the thread is still absolutely false, the sunspot would be 9.7 times larger than earth.

I as a noob here, would really like to see a mod bring the hammer down on you and these false claims/hoaxes....and as they say around here...

Deny Ignorance!

Lot's of caustic editorial. Is this the Times on crack?

I appreciate articles on such events, whether accurate or otherwise. No one seems to be deliberately being dishonest. Why all the sprays of Cortisol?

It would be a great study for a cultural anthropologist to watch reactive here. Some of the serial editorial ninjas carry too much armament and are fairly transparent for having issues.

Here is an article I just got from Unknown Country. (Am I adding gas to the fire?)

Sunspots Subside on July 7th

Solar astronomy is still very mysterious to even solar physicists. Any pre-event data would be extraordinary evidence of something... well, extraordinary. Let's see how this plays out and let the timeline solidify. It's all still in motion spacefans!

I am waiting for the Hydrogen Alpha video log. I'm such a visual data addict.

Learn to read
I didn't say it was smaller than Earth I said it wasn't 100 times the Earth
Jupiter for your info is only 11.2 times the size of Earth

You guys are getting desperate and nasty

Enjoy your bliss... I have serious work to do.

Hi Julie,
You are quite right,it was my assumption that,if a forecast could be made for a new cycle,(which they do) and that a forecast could be made for the number of Sunspots in that cycle,(which they do) then they could actually make a forecast for when those Sunspots should appear, based on what is already known. So far I can't find that nitty gritty, and there are several groups that do this forecasting.Maybe there is a chance here for the 9-to 5's to have a go at predicting the next Sunspot?

I'm still wondering what happened to the great massive solar storm those crop circles predicted to occur yesterday.
I'll remember to never read a thread created by the OP from now on.

What I don't understand is how a SC24 spot can turn into an SC23 sppot? Isn't SC23 like, totally over and stuff?

i don't see where you got sc23 from? but on spaceweather.com it still classifies it in sc24 1024

Ahhh, my avatar...a little off topic, but it is from the "Jonathan Reed" encounter with a reptilian ET. There are a few committed individuals out there who are very dedicated to prove he and his experience/evidence is a HOAX. It seems some of these individuals have even found their way right on here to ATS as well. But the fact remains that Jonathan Reed/John Rutter has never actually admitted that this was anything but what really happened.
David Icke as well as many people the world over are convinced that these (possibly inter-dimensional) reptilian humanoid's exist, are on this earth, and have been for very long time...

Waffling.

The claims were "Major Solar Storm", "Impacting Earth", "CMEs".
Not sunspots.

I haven't been keeping up too much on the circles, did any of them depict sunspots rather than a "major" event? (never mind there was no major event)

The claims were not nessecarily exactly what the CC was depicting.

It seemed to point towards a solar/magnetic event on the 7th of July.

There is no denying that there was such an event on that day. There was a class c flare on the 7th, there was a sunspot.

After a period of months of no activity.

There is correlation right there.

Sorry mixing up a thought from another board, turns out it was the polarity of the sunspot shifting to something that looked like SC23, again - my mistake..

Sure have been absorbing more data in the last few days than I have in a long time, across multiple threads and emails and life and work and people popping over and responsibilities lol!

these crop circle threads have managed to label me as a disinfo agent and now a skeptic...

Perhaps my friend you ought to do a little research or follow a linky or two.

Pegasus

As to Project Camelot Bill isn't to happy with me since I scared off Henry Deacon from Project Avalon. How was I to know he would flip when I revealed the Looking Glass document and showed Shiva Nova?
