Largest Sun Spot EVER found Today 7/7/09 - 60 to 80 times size of Earth!

It was just a sunspot. Not like it was even close to the biggest one ever. So why make a crop circle about it? It didnt even do anything to us.

I don't know? Why the hell would anyone? Money? Power? Respect? The usual suspects?

Also, it did "do something" to us.

It just didn't do anything that the average person noticed..

It didnt do anything to us. There have been class X solar flares that have done little more than disrupt power and satellite comms.

I still have so many questions about all of this stuff. Before the last few days i paid no attention to what went out way up there. So this sunspot, it isnt anything unusual at all? I know there was a drought for awhile(i got that from reading here) But, There was never really any danger of something happening to us? People just assumed that it would?

I am still losing a lot of sleep over this whole topic. Whats the chances of earth getting affected by something major over the next week? My brain really needs a break. I need to nap for a week!

the charts show the year, not the date.

They show that solar cycle 23 was ending, and solar cycle 24 was beginning, and activity was expected to begin slowly and increase fairly rapidly from about May of 2009.

Which is exactly what has happened, and what has continued to happen, and what will continue to happen. We're into a new solar cycle, and have been for some time now.

You should go to bed and rest easy, nothing as yet has happened that will cause us any concern. Things that are happening now with the sun have done so fo millions of years and there is nothing remarkable to anything that is happening now. Dont lose any sleep over nothing its not good for you.

This newest sunspot is thought to be 60 to 80 times the size of Earth and has occurred on the side of the sun, which is in view of Australia.

this has got to be inaccurate. the same side of the sun is visible to everyone on earth...

like i said this is only an observation but dose it not take time for light to get here on this planet? so should it not take less or more time for the solar flare to get here? and if it has gotten here ive only herd contorts from people saying something of the sort of well nothings happened in my parts. well where should we look? south america, china, india?

i remember just yesterday and i dont remember the specific date but bejing china had a ridiculous day of weather where hail storms occured and not only that but power was out i believe and in the middle of the day there was no light! ill check out the site and find a link so that could be discussed here so that it can be a possible theory that just because there is a massive S.F. it might not effect the entoire globe but a large portion of the earth with weather.

Its getting to the middle of july and yea its nothing but cloud coverage? could this be a result in the earth trying to shield itself from the flare? has anyone looked into how S.F. effect weather on the planet? and if so pls let me know.......

You know, I overlooked this post but there is so much substance to it!

I've been so focused on the sun and magnetosphere lately that I've neglected to look at the Earth.

And also I noticed that in my little corner of the world, there tends to be increased windspeed, cloud cover and precipitation immediately after increased density/pressure of solar ejecta interacting with the Earth's magnetosphere.

I understand what you say,and I apologise to Point' for not seeing his request for a change in the thread title.But his replies have been a bit ambiguous at times like this in a post to me,
"They can however predict solar activity by using the cycle(be it 11 years or more), but they can't say "a solar event on the 7th of July".Imo, this cropcircle did just that."
So what do you with a thread which, while the title is misleading,but has good contributions made to it? the obvious one is to modify the title,the alternative to that is to create another venue,under say,"What do you think?"and /or controversial.There is no reason at this stage to move it to a similar thread,that should have been seen to at the start,when in this case, the actual info was available online

I find it interesting as well... what I would like to know.. where these crop circles were found.. did anyone set up a camera or investigate to see if whoever made the circle came back?? Also...these circles predicted what the sun was going to do right? Thought you might know a little more than what I know at this point.. lol thanks

Wow now your just trying to find something that would fit thats kinda sad actually. Maybe it was referring to a fire in Chicago i bet if you look there was one. Do you realize there has been a conviction in a court in the UK for creating crop circles.Obviously they had enough proof to convict and you still wont accept the obvious!

Please dont tell me that now you have lowered yourself to think that clouds in your area were predicted by a crop circle or that the "giant" sunspot caused them just where you live. You are grasping at straws at this point.

There is no way they are going to listen to us. This prediction was wrong and all they are doing is twisting the facts.

no im definately not going to but does it also say that what was orginally posted that the CC was done by this same person your so adimately speaking to me of did this one as well? and if so even if he did do it or who or whatever did it it really dosnt matter the fact of the matter is that there ARE changes in weather patterns and that COULD possibly be what is going on..this thread is about the prediction of a CC that possibly predicted a CME/SF and you pulling up some random person and tying them in with this after they were prosecuted for dosnt make sense...try a little harder next time though....

Yeah I know they will hold on to those beliefs no matter what. They dont have any proof there are aliens visiting earth let alone creating crop circles but they will stick to this idea no matter how many "predictions" fail. Then if by luck one happens to come true they will say see we were right and disregard the bizzillion that failed.

It is really no differnt that cavemen saying the rain Gods made rain.

Yeah because weather patterns have never changed before this crop circle appeared.

I believe the circle prophecy is a fake, circle is a fake as well.

But the one thing that's absolutely astounding is that no has even begun to decrypt the actual message part of the CC.

You know...the 5 long lines of seemingly alien writing.

Anyone worked on figuring that out?
