You claimed something about an entire thread because of one or two posters?
Yeah, the dramatic statement stands. I don't think they're ignorant I think they poorly stated things in the heat of a post, it happens. Although they should probably admit it.

Again, where did anyone state that Christianity is a single denomination? Just because people generalize statements that shows no such thing, if anything the posters getting in-depth seem to understand quite well that there are different practices.

The articles you posted discussed the Church of England

Obviously you didn't bother reading the ones from the WEST.

Okay, I'm fine with you thinking that.

Good thing that you are. Funny that you would attempt to infer otherwise while continuing to do so as I show below.

No, I was having witty banter, witty banter is not worth "justifying" on a message board. I was simply trying to explain.

Justifying and explain are synomous. Don't believe me? Here:

Main Entry: account for
Part of Speech: verb
Definition: give reason for
Synonyms: clarify, elucidate, explain, justify, resolve

SOURCE:Thesaurus entry for Justify

You like stating the obvious? Again I already knew this. *sigh* I was poking fun at the poster for willfully playing into the redundancy instead of simply stating this.

Sure you were, rather like you have no need to "justify" only to "explain"?

Did it kick and scream while it was dragged?

Obfuscation via absurdity now.

My, your not very good at being slippery are you? Might want to look up a friend of mine "MadnessInMySoul" he used to be around here but he could give you some pointers. We used to drive each other insane before we made peace and became friends.

I take that comment back, my bad.

I dont see the point in continuing as this will never end.

I disagree with you, hopefully you can agree to disagree with me on this topic

Justifying and explain are synomous

Since when do synonyms share the exact definition?
Now you're just reaching. They don't all have the EXACT meaning. Jeez.

My, your not very good at being slippery are you?

You're taking this very seriously.

In support of the fellow who said this lovely foolish gem:

BTW, there is no god, FYI...

Though it is funny to see someone who can no more prove their claim than their opponent mocking said opponent as if they could and have.
It's a perfect example of the human love and at times unconscious obcession with absurdedly.

Watcher-In-The-Shadows, I cannot believe it but I actually SAW your argument coming. It's the typical argument that religious people use in defense of their God: "You cannot prove that one doesn't exist".

Back on Page 5, a fellow poster posted this:

img265.imageshack.us...

THIS picture speaks a thousand words - and is precisely the reason why we can say there is no God, with near-certainty, but you cannot say why there IS a God. Seeing is believing, after all, and thus I really don't get what you're believing in.

Sure aren't.

Main Entry: syn·on·y·mous
Pronunciation: \-məs\
Function: adjective
Date: 1610
1: having the character of a synonym ; also : alike in meaning or significance
2: having the same connotations, implications, or reference

Not really. You can flatter yourself by thinking it's so if you wish though.
I am rather enjoying watching you try.

And then run the chance of catching AIDS where you will really be in a position to sooner than later know if there is an afterlife.
Oh aye, well I'd best find a church to hide away in for fear that something bad might happen... if I didn't know to look both ways when crossing the road or how to wear f**king CONDOMS!

I never claimed there was a "god" and I never claimed there wasn't. You assume that I make the claim there was because at this particular moment I am chastising certain atheists for their cognitive dissonance and another's slippery words. But I in all honesty make no claim either way as I believe anyone who makes a claim either way and claims factuality is a fool at best. I know the rhetoric of both sides by the way and both are generally illogical though one side pretends it wasn't so just a little bit harder.

Your point? From your own source: alike in meaning or significance or just referencing the same things.

Not exactly the exact, same definition is it?

Not really. You can flatter yourself by thinking it's so if you wish though. I am rather enjoying watching you try.

Good, seeing as how you focused on one word and ignored that I trumped your point this is fun both ways.

Just pointing out why wild sex *I took the silly presumption of that meaning also multiple differing partners* is not a good idea. Without the use of a judgemental diety.

LoL! keep telling yourself that. Might actually become true if you wish hard enough. Doubt it though.

Oh stop being grumpy because you thought you had a point to make against me and it wasn't so. At least Whattheory knows how to do this right, really one upped me with that last comment too. You're just posting the same synonym definition that affirms my statement while you mock my trumping of you but don't address the actual trump.

You must realise that a christian who is is actively ministering in Gods kingdom sees many things to prove that God is real.
This is why we will allways have conflicts between believers and none believers.

Seeing IS believing....

Maybe you would prefer the Islamic religion.

Where there are people, there will always be religion.

There may come a day when you wish that you had not rejoiced at the so-called death of Christianity.

Quick question:

how did this post about religious education being originally compulsory in UK schools, and its soon-to-be-abolishment progress into a discussion about wild sex and condoms?!?!?

Because this is the internet. Rule one of the internet: All discussion become wildly off topic and/or dirty, especially those about god.

And the Islamic religion would not only be compulsory in schools, it would be compulsory full stop.

Think about it.

Choose the lesser of two evils.

1. How can you know this for sure? 2. So you're saying that Christianity is evil?

I am saying, as I have said repeatedly, that man-made religion is evil.

I believe In Jesus Christ, not in the corrupted church which bears His name.
