WOW.

Nice sleuthing to add that in! Thank you for the link!

And yes, very disturbing.

And to quote another poster:

I agree. Personally I think we should close all military bases around the globe and pull out and let the world fend for it self.

amen to that

Simply put I don't want any people to die for any cause of action. I'm sure no one here even wants a war. It was a speculation unto who would do what and for what purpose. I think you are right though on the whole issue of its a lot more complicated than simple. Its probably just going to end in more sanctions or such. Old Kim sure picked a great time to put some sparks into the ignition with the Global financial crisis in all.

Just got back from picking my wife up from work, radio stated that there is a power play going on in NK between Lil Kims third son, his son-in-law and the generals. Apparently they felt that taking the 'hard line' was the way to go.

What type of strong response do you have in mind? I think it is really just a matter of semantics. Anything short of military action would be a weak response. We have already sanctioned them into oblivion with no results. So, I don't see how more sanctions could be considered a strong response.

I fully expect the same gameplan to be followed. Harsh words and more sanctions, possibly a bribe to get them to stop their nuclear program.... again. Then North Korea will take their payout and continue doing whatever they want. Like it or not, they hold all of the cards.

North Korea wiping out Seoul is not really speculation. They have made that point pretty clear. Our government is well aware of it. We know that the arty is there and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Unless we figure out a way to flatten all of the mountains surrounding Seoul without North Korea catching on.

Maybe that was their goal all along? Out of money so what should we do? Get everyone all worked up on the world scene during the financial crises knowing full well no military action would even be close to taken. Accept a bribe behind the scenes from undisclosed nations. Financial problem solved for Kim.

From the Oval Office

Hello Kim Jong,

We just wanted to remind you that the US has 18 Trident
Nuclear Class Submarines. At least five subs (or more) are
on patrol across the globe at any given time. Each sub
carries at least twelve ICBM's with an average capacity
of fifteen individually targeted warheads per missile.

We hear the sailing weather is nice in the South Pacific
this time of year.

Have a nice day.

Signed,
The Leader of the Free World

What we don't know is how much counterintelligence is going on or how many agents the south koreans have in the north or what plans to send in commandos etc they have. same can be said for the Israel Iran situation. It's very very similar.

Would there be any kind of plan that could involve evacuating Seoul before a Military response against N.Korea, or would this be impossible?

Any kind of evacuation from Seoul will signal to NK to attack. Just imagine their intelligence to the south.

Thats why we have guys in there that get paid big bucks to come up with solutions short of military action. China has great leverage on NK and if Russia also jumps on board with us here then something might get done in regard to this issue. I agree that previous responses have not yielded any results but I think not all the diplomatic pieces were in place. We got to bring more people to the table to pressure NK to comply.

Truly is a tragedy such devices wound our home so efficiently, and far too often.

She needs more love now than ever. Our dreams not our bombs. Gifts than she may actually give back to us in abundance. I still do not comprehend, regardless of excuses, why this budding creation deserves anything short of respect and love.

I do so with my purest of heart wish that we turn this all around soon.

Love to all
Be In Peace.

And how do you get 10 million people out in an orderly fashion as well. That's next to impossible.

its a very tricky situation for sure then. I really cant see any military action ever happening unless N.Korea launches first.

It would just be completely out of the question.

this is no option.

North Korea is clearly trying to scare and provoke us. First, they launch a missile on the 4th of July... Now on Memorial Day. The day of remembrance for our troops... They set off a nuke. This really stinks of NWO imo btw... It's really putting me on edge.

Anyway, I remember watching a special on Discovery (not positive it was Discovery)... It was about North Korea, everything filmed in North Korea. At one point during the show the cameraman focused his lens on a huge billboard and I remember it saying something along the line of "We will be victorious against America with the help of Nuclear bombs". Crazy crazy crazy world we live in...

Considering their circumstances in terms of location relative to other nuclear armed countries, who can blame North Korea for pursuing these weapons? I have a hard time believing that they're developing them for the sole purpose of killing people without any provocation. Rather, they are doing it to garner respect militarily and to bolster their defenses. Who would not do the same thing in their shoes, surrounded by nuclear capable military machines, and after enduring so many sanctions and other forms of political and civil manipulations?

My personal opinion is that any country and/or organization who demands a country to either disarm itself or refrain from pursuit of nuclear armaments should themselves do the same. The United States, for example, has no moral ground for making such demands until they possess no such weapons. In other words: lead by example. If anything it is countries who do not possess nukes that should be putting their feet down together to demand the disarmament of nuclear-equipped nations, not the other way around.

Not that it matters in any way. The folks behind the curtains who pull the strings would never permit circumstances to exist where one particular country has enough military power to topple their broad global reach and influence. The show will continue, regardless of one nuke test and a little showboating on the part of North Korea or some other country.

A strong response would be to quit giving aid to them. They do all this stuff then sanctions get imposed, but we still give them millions or billions worth of aid.

The military and top politicians eat good because we keep giving them food. Lets stop giving them food and lets see what wins out a propaganda campaign or a bunch of hungry soldiers that don't have any food and are sick of the treatment they have to deal out to the citizens of the country.

If we quit giving them aid NK would fold up and flounder in a few months there would be massive civil unrest in that country they would be too busy trying put out the fires to do anything else. Or they would launch an attack which in that case we and our allies have the upper hand we no longer fit the image of the propaganda campaign.

The people don't speak against the government for their own safety they aren't stupid. They know what is going on they just don't have the means to do anything about it.

But of course a few more thousands of people will starve and we can't have that.
My action would be to cut the aid off. If the international community gets all huffy and puffy about it, I'd look at them and say sanctions, bribes, and tough talk hasn't worked so we are going to try something different.
