I'm inclined to think that it's not about R's and D's anymore. There needs to be a new party representative of the people and by the people. If we are to truely so fortunate in the future as to have a chance to reclaim our liberties, then we ought not be limited to the parties that been a part of the problem.

It's time to think about principles and ideals and base representation squarely on those things that ensure mankind to live a free and happy life.

I'm fairly certain they already have one. It's called the Libertarian Party.

"The tree of liberty is watered by the blood of patriots and tyrants". Can't remember who said that, hehe.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Thomas Jefferson

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
Thomas Jefferson

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -Thomas Jefferson

Here's another good one from a very wise man!

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." –George Washington

In any case, isnt this profiling? I thought profiling would summon the mystical powers of the ACLU? I guess the official description doesnt include some racial or economic qualifier that the ACLU would see as beneficial to exploit so it's going to sit this one out.

If it's not a racial thing or some anti-Christian agenda the ACLU will not touch it.

Oh, wait I forgot about the Illegal Immigrants and Terrorist rights. Lets not forget the criminals.

Somehow the second amendment doesn't qualify as a bonafide right to be protected at all cost, as far as the ACLU is concerned.

I'll be carrying a sign at the TEA Party tommorrow >>

"A government big enough to give you everything you want ...

Is a government big enough to take away everything you need."

Hope to see some of you there. Its not about R's and D's anymore because it's the same two headed monster.

Ron Paul and his type of politicians represents the best hope of reestablishing this county back to Constitutional government and representation. Unfortunately, there is a very large corporate and Federal Reserve banking infrastructure which will fight tooth and nail against any deconstruction of the status-quo.

I firmly believe we are likely unable to fully mend the Constitutional cancers that have affixed themselves to the holes and amendments we have allowed to be inflicted by our legislators and Executive orders that emulate a drive-up window at McDonalds.

However how painful, a revolution must accompany the next changes in our government to de-scale and reestablish our federal, state and local governments to their proper and legitimate place.

If we are going to be a third world country in the next 15 - 20 years, let?s do it with some dignity and show them our system of government will not be another flash-in-the-pan experiment that can be bought by international entities and markets?.

Just to clarify for you folks. I have weapons... I know how to use them, i am exmilitary with an expert marksman badge... If any of you paranoid people think you need a weapon because it is your human right to be able to kill who you need so your ignorant @## can survive... you better rethink coming anywhere near me.

I want a gun for one reason and one reason alone.....and it is the reason you talked about - PROTECTION.

I care for my 75 yr old mom & things have gotten very tight for us since I lost my $30,000+/yr job. I now make $9/hr & my hours were cut to 30 last month. Of course, they are doing all they can to avoid having to lay off people - that's cool....

Anyway, for some reason, I never saw the need for a weapon while making money where I could afford to buy one. But, like many others, I have awaken to what is happening after many, many years of sleeping.

NOW, we barely have money for a movie once in a while let alone me going to buy even a inexpensive handgun for protection....this disturbs me because I am all mom has to help her & keep her safe & with my views (and out spokenness) alone I could be labelled as a threat to the government!!

I even asked my 'doing very well living in his okay world' brother for a $200 loan so I could purchase a cheap weapon.....well, as with most things concerning us, he doesn't want to get involved! He thinks he is going to read about me in the paper having assassinated the President or something.......geesh!!!

I just want to be able to protect my mom & myself if the SHTF and be able to have, at least, a chance to get to safer ground!! So many people I see daily seem to live in the same world by brother does.....like nothing is happening and things are okay when, clearly, things are NOT ok......

I just do not understand..........

Any suggestion?? I'd hate to be labelled a 'terrorist' and not even have a dam gun!!!!!!

Thank you for listening and God Bless you all who are so willing to pass info on about what is really going on out there. My eyes are open now because of you.

Wow, that was quite a twist.

You mention;
Gambling
Prostitution
Prohibition
Drug Laws
Seat-belt laws
Helmet laws
Cell-phone bans
Gun laws
these new "food safety" law

I agree about the helmet law, seat belt law, food safety laws are weird!. Soon we will have a law on everything.

Sounds a little Conmmie doesnt it? Here are a few more laws that are even more insane.

Martial law is defined as: military rule or authority imposed on a civilian population when the civil authorities cannot maintain law and order, as in a time of war or during an emergency.

Hitler turned Germany into a Nazi dictatorship through executive orders.

Executive Order 10995: All communications media are to be seized by the Federal Government. Radio, TV, newspapers, CB, Ham, telephones, and the internet will be under federal control. Hence, the First Amendment will be suspended indefinitely.

Executive Order 10997: All electrical power, fuels, and all minerals well be seized by the federal government.
E
xecutive Order 10998: All food resources, farms and farm equipment will be seized by the government. You will not be allowed to hoard food since this is regulated.

Executive Order 10999: All modes of transportation will go into government control. Any vehicle can be seized.
Executive Order 11000: All civilians can be used for work under federal supervision.

Executive Order 11490: Establishes presidential control over all US citizens, businesses, and churches in time of "emergency."

Executive Order 12919: Directs various Cabinet officials to be constantly ready to take over virtually all aspects of the US economy during a State of National Emergency at the direction of the president.

Executive Order 13010: Directs FEMA to take control over all government agencies in time of emergency. FEMA is under control of executive branch of the government.

Executive Order 12656: "ASSIGNMENT OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS RESPONSIBILITIES", "A national emergency is any occurrence, including natural disaster, military attack, technological emergency, or other emergency that seriously degrades or seriously threatens the national security of the United States. Policy for national security emergency preparedness shall be established by the President."

This order includes federal takeover of all local law enforcement agencies, wage and price controls, prohibits you from moving assets in or out of the United States, creates a draft, controls all travel in and out of the United States, and much more.

Martial law can be declared due to natural disasters, Y2k Crisis, Stock Market crash, no electricity, riots, biological attack, .... anything leading

For a reply to your first post I just wanted to say that you base this "theory" upon the supposition that "global warming" is indeed man made???? This is not an empirically known fact, it is merely produced as factual evidence.

What of the ancient climate of Venus???

en.wikinews.org...

www.spacedaily.com...

Or were we party to that catastrophe too? Or maybe it is more of a natural process than we have all been propagandized into believing????

Urban Heat Islands?

en.wikipedia.org...

PLEASE LET US NOT DERAIL THIS THREAD INTO GLOBAL WARMING! iT WAS JUST THAT THE POINT NEEDED TO BE MADE THAT IT IS NOT 100% CERTAIN SCIENCE AS THEY WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE.

As for the photos that you produce, we shouldn't allow emotion to dictate the actions that will affect our countrymen for generations to come. And I notice that you seem to post photos of foreign nations and people. This is an American issue, it is not open for debate amongst foreigners nor do the actions of foreigners have forbearance upon what direction our country goes in.

Most notably I should say that America was never a country of mob rule, nor should it be. Laws should never be enacted based upon the actions of an individual or any group of people for that matter. They are only to enacted when it is in the best interest of the people and MOST IMPORTANTLY, WITH THE CONSENT OF THE GREATEST PORTION OF THE PEOPLE'S WILL. Most especially in matter pertaining to the Bill of Rights.

Here are some facts about gun control for you.

Why give afraid kids weapons? Why give ignorant humans deadly weapons? Maybe if they were intelligent enough to survive on their own they wouldn't need deadly force to survive... drrrr

First off this is muslim/islamic material you are showing here and we are discussing America and her weapons and citizens. Also what is this about giving children guns? Who even said anything about giving CHILDREN guns?? We are talking about adults and I think, for anyone with half of a brain felt that was insinuated as we were holding an adult conversation about an adult topic. You remind me of that episode of Family Guy when the women are having a book club discussion about a particular topic of the book they just read and then YOU put the book on your head and said "you know, the book can also be used as a hat". This is an adult conversation Peter, please don't waste our time with an attempt at humor....this is not a funny topic.

I don't recall EVER having advocated the issuance of weapons to children or "ignorant" humans. How is it that you have arrived at the conclusion that I am an arms dealer supplying children & cretins???

Furthermore, I fail to ascertain the purpose/relevance of your photo collage to this discussion. Middle Eastern kids holding guns to a child's head??? George Bush morphed into a Afghani??? A cross burning??? A nuke blast???

I suppose that you have posted these non-congruent provocative images in a feeble effort to solidify the shaky ground upon which you have laid the foundation for your "Castle of Idealism"...

Good Luck sustaining that.

I'm inclined to think that it's not about R's and D's anymore.

“There is nothing I dread so much as a division of the Republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader and converting measures in opposition to each other.”
-President John Adams

It never should have been. Just as another poster mentioned, Divide and conquer is the name of the game. I would go as far as to say that as of late, the party system is all but a rouse that is only there to fool is into divisive measures upon our own countrymen while those that make law are all working towards a single purpose.

I say that the best way to get this country functioning is to abolish the very notion of parties and party politics in America once and for all. Everyone is Independent. Force the people to weigh the merits of a politicians convictions rather than punch #16 for Dem. and #7 for Rep. all the way down the ticket because you "think" that because they were the same label that you do they believe in the same ideologies. And that is how Communist got into the Democratic party and that's how you end up with extreme Right wingers in the Republican Party. Or maybe even Democrat light.

Abolish the Party system and make the people listen to and weigh the merits of each candidate.

To hell with the ideology that "DEMOCRAT GOOD & REPUBLICAN BAD." OR vice versa.

Our lazy ways and lack of (or loss of) a pro-active spirit in our Government is what will inevitably do us in.

The party system was set up in order to divide us and to lull us into another fashion of complacency with one power or the other and not our own power.

We should also abolish the Electoral college. Have a popular majority leader. Of course we will be split on that candidate, as well.

Good point though. Most of the bickering between Dems and Republicans is staged or make us think we have a choice, when in fact we DO NOT have a choice.

Youre also right about the system being set up to divide. My fear, however is based on the collapse of the Soviet union.

I think when SHTF we may have a civil war and the States will be separated just as the Soviet union.

With most states declaring Sovereignty. I see this as a possibility.

...And cbianchi513 delivers the red herring....

So you're saying that direct representation is what you would have for our republic? You know, our founding fathers chose the electoral college for a reason.

It's the ignorant and uninformed that keep this "movement" at arms length, for me. Somebody even gave you a star, meaning there's at least two!

Our biggest weapon is truth, and learning half truths is half assed, no matter how you look at it.

We should also abolish the Electoral college.

I have said that in the past due to the idea that nobody but the people should decide and not a select group of people. Yet I still wonder how fair it will be if we turned it over to popular vote? After all the required tally would only have to be 51% of the populace. Which is indicative of a Democracy (of which we are not). And that would be mob rule. I favor the 2/3 requirement, or something that says it is an "greater majority" of the people that wish this person to be the Executive of the Country.

After all we are a Republic as guaranteed by the Constitution in Article 4 Section 4. In any event I see what you are saying I'm just not at ease with 51% and whether or not it will cause disenfranchisement and eventually upheaval.

My fear, however is based on the collapse of the Soviet union.

As is mine. Believe me, I in no way want any violence or upheaval.

My favorite of the Bill of Rights are the Freedoms of speech, the press, and assembly.

I wish for a political Revolution (to bring us full circle, i.e. back to the Constitution), one that can come by way of mouth, the pen, and way of protest. We must make ourselves heard.

The second amendment (to me) is an essential right. For it assures the survival of the rest if all other avenues are exhausted.

And that's why the gun grabbers don't get people like us.

Because they equate guns with violence.

We equate them with peace and protection.

I think when SHTF we may have a civil war and the States will be separated just as the Soviet union.

I think that "IF" this scenario is to play out in a worst case scenario that this could very well be the case.

I pray that we could all find a common ground to stand on and keep this great nation if that were to happen.

In any event that is why These United States were formed with strong State Governments. In order that the Federal Government wouldn't take such a strong role and the States could handle their own affairs.

After all we are an country of Semi- Autonomous States. That is why we used to say These United States. It wasn't until lately that people started calling it THE United Stated as if it were one entity.

Out of many comes one. That's not just about the people but the States also.

If the worst were to happen I hope that we could remain one family. Remember United We Stand, Divided We Fall.

So you're saying that direct representation is what you would have for our republic?

I have personaly given a Direct Democracy some thought, I would keep with the spirit of a Republic however. As I said 51% is not a government that is inclusive of it's people.'

I'm not entirely sure how we would go about such a government, but one thing is for sure We The People need to retake much of the power that has been usurped and retake it in the name of future generations and the memory of all that have sacrificed for it.

We need to eliminate all forms of lobyist and any such "campaign contributions" (bribes) in order to eliminate the corruption.

We need to eliminate the "paper clip legislation" that goes on in order that one party can either kill good laws or make sure bad ones sail through.

We need single legislation votes, this way we and the Representatives know what's being voted on.

We also need to do away with the Legal jargon in the language of the laws. It must be made plain for any layman to readily understand. This is but another form of disenfranchisement. It also serves as a crutch for politicians that wish to personally claim ignorance of the contents of a law.

I understand your concern friend, but we all must admit that there is an issue with the government and possibly some portions of the foundations.

Otherwise none of this would have been possible, the founding fathers knew that this sort of crap would happen (probably didn't think it would get this bad) and that's why they left us avenues for change.

I am 100% Patriotic. Our forefathers fought and died for our freedoms.

There are 2 ways to look at it. One view is the puppet government, second is what we believe to be living in the Feee state.

We are not far off from a Police State. They are gearing up. By the time the G20 is finished I wonder what flag will be flying in my state.

I think we should at least have the right to vote on the new global flag.

Our rights are disolving as we speek. We are entering a new era, which has never before been seen in our history.

The only problem I have is that Bush didnt legally win his first election. There are flaws in the system.

If we can rapidly change the laws, rules, etc. Why not improve on that as well.

I am stronly opposed to a NWO. I dont know what your views are.

These bills being passed are amended in to our Bill of rights. I dont like them, as many will agree.

it's only my personal opinion.

You probably dont understand because thats not what I was saying. I was making a comparison Kids are the root of human nature they are innocent by most standards... so if kids are fearful and they cant handle weapons why should we allow ignorant adult kids who THINK they are protecting themselves... if anyone on ATS goes nuts in a mall or somewhere and starts ranting they are coming for us... i wont laugh or tease... ill just think to myself ignorance is bliss, but apparently you would rather argue and be right, im not here to dominate or control, im here to learn... so if you have problems with my theorys or beliefs ( all 6 billion of us on earth have different ones...) then you should justify it with subject matter not the disprove you once so i must be right always theory you got going on. ATS is here to wein people away from ignorance not onto it
have a great day and stay on subject.

Its not a secret Cabal trying to kill innocent ammericans, its an organization that we elected to protect us, if your dissappointed they they arent protecting us the wya you want its because you dont voice your opinions like all of you should have, if you have a problem write your senator... Learn the Chain of Command if you want to have a voice in our society. Our Paretns Generation left us with garbage we have to clean up, get off of your computer complaining on ATS and go out and do something (Without your bullets)

Im glad we aree on a few things.

I dont want to seem unpatriotic, however we have some serious flaws in our system.

We all know about such government corruption. We even saw Congress cheating on their votes yesterday. Unreal.

I think one of your points is to simply rid the bureaucratic red tape? To clean up the system and improve it's efficiency.

I dont want to get labled an anti-government radical. There has simply been corruption from day one and nothing seems to work to improve it.
