I love the spirit of the OP. And, for the most part,I totally agree.

However, I can in no way un-Foe my Foe.

Fare-thee-well JediMiller.... wherever you are.

Since this thread began with definitions, I kindly present the following:

girl-noun
- a female child, from birth to full growth.
-a young, immature woman, esp. formerly, an unmarried one.

In this thread the OP stated:

In other threads today, the OP stated:

When i was a kid ... a long time ago ...

It's not used that way now.

Originally posted by FlyersFan It's been a long time since I read that college human sexuality book. And I didn't keep it when I was done with the class.

Sometimes things are not always what they seem. Apparently, people sometimes use gender / age to obtain empathy, mislead or sway a thread. Sorry, you can’t have it both ways. Don’t be duped. Nothing wrong with "females" mind you.

I suggest the OP is a girl in the same sense that Mt. Everest is a molehill.

Back OT: And for the above stated reasons, I will use the FOE button when I think someone is acting disingenuous.

What really irks me is when posts where I make so much sense are removed, and self-incriminating posts where I come off as a jerk ( like this one) are left to remain.

Regards.........KK ( Hypocrisy Hunter.)

You have this so right.

I too have no foes for the same reasons you expressed.

In fact, I use the friends list to identify people I may not agree with, but nonetheless like very much.

The "respected foe" concept has never worked for me. Don't understand it at all.

Trolls and those I don't respect, I treat as pixels on a screen.

I never use the ignore list-- another option I just don't get.

Hem, I haven't been here that long and though FF and I see very little eye to eye one thing I can say for sure is that I have NEVER seen her solicit empathy to sway a threat. In fact she is one of the most upfront and blunt members we have on ATS.

It seems like you are searching for a reason and digging rather deep to antagonize her.

Don’t be duped.

Clearly I'm not.

Nothing wrong with "females" mind you.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Are you calling her fat?

Now you've gone and done it.

Nope, It was an age metaphor.

How have I violated rules? By being sincere? If so then I am guilty.

This is a conspiracy and debate forum, if I wanted nice, I'd be hanging out
at the Martha Stewart site learning how to exchanging niceties.

OT: The FOE button is a site feature that I think is a nice option.
Why offer it if it serves no purpose?

Thanks for the open minds.

Until this thread I never knew Flyersfan was lacking the Y chromosome , thus your concept that she uses being a "girl" to her advantage is totally without merit. I have been in numerous discussions with her, and she held her own quite well without the need to resort to any feminine whiles. Thank goodness for that, because I thought she was male and would have been weirded out if she had suddenly become flirty in an attempt to sway my opinion.

Very much so, to bad this little guy
can't do serious damage to a trolls post or mental state. This one is actually not bad either:

Well said, I agree 100%.

I have had one person foe me and then send me a u2u to let me know, (even though ATS sends an auto email letting us know). I guess they thought it was some kind of punishment for daring to disagree with them.

I have never foed anyone, If I ever do it will not be out of spite or meant as some kind of lame punishment.

To those of you who foe someone out of anger, People dont really care. IT does not punish some one. besides, why would you want to punish some one just because their views are different then your own? That is a really close minded thing to do. Doing so, shows ignorance and intolerance of those who are different than you.

Now that is not to say that foeing some one is never acceptable, because it is, As the OP pointed out, a respect foe and worthy adversary is one who challenges your very way of thinking in a civil and intelligent mannar.

I dont ever foe anyone though, I usually just friend people. Regardless of personal beliefs and opinion, if some one is able to state there opinion,in a civil and intellignet manner with out feeling the need to insult or bash people who believe differently. I find that very honorable. I make those people friends.

Bottom line, the foe button is not a punishment, It is not meant to be used in that way either. If you find some one who has a different belief than you, and they manage to present that belief in an honorable, intelligent precise way, does that not deserve recognition? After all, that is exactly what ATS wants. Intelligent, well thought out posts, regardless of what is stated, that do not insult others....

Flag and star, to the OP. Well, just a flag, because you cant star anything in the board business & questions forum.

Flyers Fan....The folks that have chosen you as their foe are alphabetically listed...so if I made you one of my "respected foes", (I) Zeptepi would be third from the bottom of your list....Anyhow...how 'bout those Flyers this year...they will make the final 4 next year...
I would much rather have you as a friend...ma'mam

I could only aspire too be on any members foe list......I will make it someday..if they take me off their ignore list long enough.
Peace
