b) I'm simply trying to point out to whoever I quoted that you can no longer look at anything with a 2D point of view. The deeper you get into the rabbit hole, so to speak, the more you see, EVERYTHING, is connected in ways you never imagined possible. I was simply trying to point out that the PTB know all about the solar maximus and this is detailed in many things, a great intro video that breifly touched on it was the Esoteric Agenda. They know all about times, dates, years, cycles and much more that I and the general population have no clue about.

As 2012 is the third (another one of their numbers) olar maximus year and there isn't going to be any again for another while, they already have it in motion.

Hmmm..... very misleading thread title.

However, i can see how you have come to that conclusion, since a lot of '2012' authors claim some sort of disruptive cycle of the sun is the cause of periodic cataclysms on earth.

NASA are simply confirming that the sun has the potential to unleash a 'solar wind' powerful enough to damage and disrupt our modern, electricity and electronically dependable way of life.

Didn't NASA release a warning or whatever some years ago regarding "solar wind" from the Sun or whatever it was, that had the potential to permanently disrupt all our satelites in orbit?
What happened in the end? Nothing..

Just another excuse for NASA to justify its 17 billion dollar budget at a time when purse strings are being tightened.

I think the worst that happend was that the satellite carring VH1 and MTV and cell phone communications got disrupted for a few hours...yep that would cause a major chaotic response alright, total collapse of civilization occured that day.

But when the dialtone and signal bars came back, and the bee bop music returned on the screen, civilization was re-born and returned to normal.

Uhm. That was an example not a confirmation of what they think is going to happen on that date.

Disclaimer: I do not have an opinion on "2012". I leave those with a view to thrash it out.

The article and report merely talks of the possible impact of the Earth being in the path of plasma ejected from the sun. It discusses the issue in the context of our civilisation being increasingly reliant on technology which is undeniably at risk should we be struck.

There have been ten solar cycles since the turn of the last century - which, incidentally is when our reliance on electricity effectively begun.

Over time we have increased our reliance on it to such a level our society would breakdown completely if this was unavailable for a prolonged period of time.

Our infrastructure is now geared up entirely to rely on this never ending stream of energy to produce and supply everything we need to get by.

Most of us simply do not have an alternative to sustain ourselves (food, water, heating, transport, communication, etc).


Every civilisation that has fallen thought it couldn't happen to them. The sentiment expressed in this thread is quite typical of that mentality.

Yes, our civilisation is incredibly sophisticated in terms of the technologies it has developed. So were the Romans and Egyptians in their days. They fell.

To argue that "it hasn't happened yet so its not going to" is to seriously misunderstand risk. There hasn't been a comparable time in history nor enough time passed since the discovery of electricity for this type of event to happen. But one day it will, it is a certainty.

The question ultimately is - what do you do about it ?

The options -

1). Nothing. Take the Ostrich approach and deal with the consequences when they occur.

2). Spend billions in technologies to mitigate/offset the impact of such an event. Would the paymasters allow this for a perceived "unlikely" event?

3). Spend forever arguing whether it might/might not happen and look back after it does thinking "gee, that was dumb".

I have no view but will not sit here and listen to some of the patently absurd comments in this thread.

I believe NASA is going for funding to "research" these hypotheses.
That should give them 3 years of our money to support whatever they are doing in the name of this research program

What is of concern to me in this story, is no different than what I and a few close acquaintances have been discussing for YEARS now.

Aside from a Solar Event, the Electrical Grid susceptibility to Enemy MIL Attack is far too prevalent as well.

The one aspect which many need to understand of course, is that the "Old Way" of doing things must NEVER be forgotten, for if it is, it could very lead lead towards our own downfall.

As an example, did you know that at Annapolis they actually ceased instruction on Sextant usage? That is tantamount to asking for a disaster to take place. What happens if something as plausible as a GPS SAT blackout takes place? Too many people have already forgotten how to conduct Orienteering with a Compass as well, which I must say is downright sad.

Taking simple precautions, and learning the basics (i.e., Non-Electrical) aspects of Navigation, Food Storage, Transportation, and the likes, is what will save everyone if such an event is to ever take place.

Or maybe the want us to look far far away so we dont pay attention to ......

there is something cooking mabye it all comes together...the aliens come in the ufo's to fight off the NWO ( they hide underground somewhere secret) ...followd by a flyby from planet X taking us along in its gravity and just drives us into the sun...

It will be interesting to follow NASA’s scheduled space flights and whether they will have people on out there in space (all be it in 3 ½ years time)

Have they been able to predict solar flares with any precision?
