All we have to do is make devices that capture our emissions, and we have to empty them once a day, or once a week, or whatever the device is capable of holding.

This will be a temporary solution for gas powered vehicles, until we can create better solutions, years from now.

If I had a few million dollars, I could easily design a device that would attach on to exhaust systems, and capture emissions in a passive way that does not effect the performance of the engine. Then I could find manufactures that could spit this device out, and we could get them installed on vehicles right away. Maybe in 1 year.

The device doesn't have to capture 100% of emission, even if the device captured only 30% to 50% emissions, that would make a huge impact, and probably buy us a few more years of normal weather.

Creating these devices, and or giving the public the ability to design better devices, would boost business, and the economy, and jobs.

However, nobody wants to save the world so this message will get drowned into the infinite internet.

Alternative energy, and hybrid/electric vehicles is a very good long term solution. But, we need something that is going to work now, something that everyone could just install on their vehicles now, so people don't have to buy new vehicles, or wait for alternative energy to be declassified.

that already has been invented...theres a thread on this very board about it.

it would have taken huge amounts of CO2 out of the atmosphere very easily...tins and tons of the stuff..

Somebody tell this guy "Global Warming" is only 1 half of the problem that is called "Global Climate Change". The other half being "Global Cooling".


The term "Global Warming" has always and will always be the incorrect term for the pollution problem. The correct term is "Global Climate Change", because the patterns of hot/cold will be exaggerated, and become unbalanced first.

It seems to me most people here need to go back to science class, read a bit on quantum physics, and go study some meteorology.

Not one person has mentioned global dimming which in itself is a result of climate change, but this is an unknown quantity, because we saw reduced evaporation from around the 50s or 60s until the 90s and then it reversed.
If they are going to use computer models, they need to put in all data and so far no one knows what data actually needs to be entered to get accurate results.

Climate change and terrorism are the same war, you can call what you want the enemy and people will just believe because they saw it between idol contestants.

I have not read a single entry in this thread as I only want to comment on the title.
Why does the president have to take action within 4 years to save earth? He is not a god. He did not create the situation it is in now. He is not the Leader of the world.
It is the responsibility of ALL earth's inhabitants to SAVE it.

Its ok sheep, everything is going be ok. Its more scare tactics to empty your pocket or scare you into believing that global warming is a terrorist. Yes its quite large in the fake science community like NASA but you sheep will believe anything your told.

Humans did not help or create the current climate condition
We are not running out of trees or oil
the climate is changing it is due to earths natural process
please look things up for yourself before commenting your stupidity.

Now even though these things are fake it is time for an advancement in our technology and i for one have an invention to do that but no one with power or money cares thus proving they are only in it to make money. My engine will power everything with no added fuel by you, no profit for the oil companies so my idea is thrown out. The government is only working on things that will benefit them, hydrogen and others are costly and insufficient, so is wind and current solar technology. If they wanted to do something it can be done now, only they really don't.

Some of you people sound so miserable. "There's nothing worth saving on earth". "Humans are evil and worthless". Good grief. Get off the computer and go outside and breath some fresh air. Go volunteer somewhere. Maybe you'll see that your life isn't so bad.

It's the ultimate in arrogance to think that we could possibly destroy the earth. Even if we wanted to we couldn't destroy the earth any more than a piss ant could fly to the moon.

Considering all the religious self-messianic rhetoric that came out of Obama during the campaign, I'm not surprised that someone is actually now calling him out to 'save the Earth'. Afterall - Obama himself said something about this being the time that the waters were healed ... etc ....

When the Polar Ice Caps have melted, Earth will finally have emerged from the Ice Age, and the land underneath the ice will once again be visible. This is Global Warming, it’s natural and progressive, and along its path will be cold periods and warmer periods. Unfortunately some of the World’s population will have to relocate to higher ground as the ongoing process continues.

Mankind needs to introduce more ecologically friendly measures on a global basis, as it will improve the health of the planet and improve oxygen levels, but the cutting down consumption of hydrocarbons will not stop the natural warming process.

If President Obama can introduce Green measures in the USA, then that will help set the tone for the rest of the World to follow, with green measures of their own. We must not kid ourselves though that the billions of people in China, India, Asia, Africa, South America, Europe and Austral Asia are going to be easily persuaded to make similar changes.

For while America enjoys its’ First World lifestyle fuelled by hydrocarbons, much of the rest of the World have yet to achieve these heady heights, and it will require science and technology to find innovative and low cost ways of helping the under-developed world achieve a comfortable and modern lifestyle, based on minimal consumption of hydrocarbons.

I'm sure that taxing this hoax and putting people on the carbon-credit hysteria will bring some change. Solar maximum will start in 2012 no matter what.

The way I have read it is that the ice caps just sorta' migrate around the globe depending on the prevailing oceanic currents of the time.
Meaning, that while they may but all disappear at the poles, they will move further towards the equator at the same time...

Or something to that effect.

Its great you are double checking- just because they are affilliated with NASA it does not mean they are competent. And anyway, what if these four years go bad? how much time afterwards do we have or is it just these four years. At least the credit crisis will be solved.
