Everyone I know in pro porn had told me they love it, too. They told me in between cocktails and drugs, which were continuous. They told me they love their perception of adulation, of being taken care of -- or especially in the case of gay males, feeling "power over" others AND being "taken care of." It HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACT OF SEX EXCEPT AS A VEHICLE TO PAY AND A MISGUIDED PERCEPTION OF ADULATION (ie: prostitution). Until they are are on their way down and out. And that's inevitable. Who will "take care" of them when they don't have public clamor to see their privates -- when they have been replaced by the newly studio-promoted "mo' betta" privates?

More important, how will they support their drug/alchohol/SA habits if they are no longer the studio idol? Prostituting themselves offscreen has always been a part of the gig, but having to make it the primary gig is a debilitating act that loften leads to premature death. Anyone read any of the auto bios of porn stars? There are a number of them out there that fact check -- Joey Stephano and Linda Lovelace are among the better sellers . . . there are plenty more, depending on your orientation . . .

That is why you watch amateur web cam stuff

It might be of bad video quality but the act is real.

How real can it be? It is staged in front of a camera to be made available to a network of total strangers! How often have you celebrated your intimate moments staged in front of a networkof anonymous strangers who could care less about your well being, but about your anonymous *parts* (kind of like a chop shop). These"real" amateurs are on the same path/journey as the porn pros, just to a much smaller constituency and much more obsure end. How's that for fulfilling one's promise in the world? And for sure, 99.9% of these amateurs will not be "noteworthy" in the least to porn consumers. Like the Disney boys-turned-donkeys in the salt mines of Pinoccio, they are quite anonomous. They are infinititely disposable. When you're done with them, you may feel free to wipe yourself. Isn't that part of their appeal to you?

Just like I said, it's becoming a useless debate between rebels against the holy and the holy, the “cool” against the “uncool”. It’s impossible to have an intellectually honest debate about this issue, it being a sensitive one, even for those who wanna pretend that it’s no big deal.

What I find funny though is , if porn is supposed to be this created fantasy for us to escape our mundane reality, now that porn is so mainstream and mundane, what are we going to have to do to spice up that fantasy? I think we better be thinking about that rather than bitching about religion. Religion cannot touch porn already.

Deep down inside, you know you get a kick out of the “virginal” reaction of the prudish pact. Just like those mighty porn penises aim to impress with their size.

you know, there's a reason why they joined the porn industry. They have balls, they don't have to worry about anything else, for pleasure and money obviously, I would love that, but I'd rather be a producer instead, there's no need for this activist crap on pron degrades women and men crap...please, femenists have been saying that for years, and yet porn is still on the rise. You shouldn't complain, and neither should the actors or actresses, they swore a oath to porn when they joined, too goddamn bad, they can quit.

Sex is more than just intercourse with a person, though.

S&M, whips, chains, rubber, latex... sex is not just in doing the act with someone. It is being turned on by ideas and visions.

Women are also more open to porn nowadays. Once upon a time, in the UK, the page-three girl was considered filthy. Now porn is accepted like topless calendars. In fact many watch it.

I second this statement. Also as has been said, amateur is the way to go. Those people are generally enjoying themselves quite a bit. Production values are bad, but that's not why you're watching anyways is it?

Well I don't know about the rest of yall but...

Watching porn for me has become a daily ritual such as brushing my teeth, eating breakfast, showering, going to work etc...

On another note...porn industry bailout? You have to be kidding me...do you know how many girls gone wild video's have been sold? Or how many issue's of Hustler magazine have been purchased? This is a blaintent attempt to hop on the "bailout wagon" a get billions of dollars to people who are already millionaire's...and who's going to have to pay? Me...You...and the rest of the U.S. tax payer's. Haven't they milked us enough already? My answer to the porn bailout would be a gigantic NO!!

On a side note...people who get involved into the porn industry do it because they choose to. I can understand there may or may not be abuse in that particular industry...but abusing power has become the norm. Just look at the U.S. Federal government...get over it...or do something about it.

You should read up on Larry Flint a little bit. The very idea that he seriously needs or wants a bailout from the federal government is insane. He is trying to make a point, again and good one, again.

If any people would bother to check, that purveyor of smut loves attention. He said it as an attempt at sarcasm, I got it.
He is making tons of money at weaknesses expense.
If you think Flint is hoarding your values, re-evaluate youre values

I don't know about that. I watch porn and only want to see the action and I definitely am a lady. I fast forward through the other parts. Most women I know who watch porn do the same thing!
No offense, but once you hit 35 you don't want to listen to some guy mumble on about relationships, the weather and other crap, you just want to eat dinner, get laid and go home. Movies should reflect reality!

It just so happens that there is a great series at the Crime Library on porn stars and the mess they get into with the law. It is called/url: Porn Star Predicaments. This speaks about the type of person that goes into the porn business as an actor/actress. Some of them are quite funny.

I have always believed that the women who go into porn are looking for the money and the power over men. I have a hard time feeling sorry for them because they know what they are getting into way ahead of time. Nowadays, it seems almost anyone will take it off and star in an amateur film of some type. There are so many different ones willing and able I am surprised that they are able to command anything over a 'c' note for their performance.

Incidentally, this may seem like a naive question but where do they find their 'talent'? I mean this isn't something they advertise in the classifieds, so where do these 'agents' find all these girls? There are plenty of them but how do they find them?

From what I understand, the pro's make several hundred $ per hour. VERY possibly more for the 'stars'. Besides, these are people with bodies that would permit them to gain (financial) favor in many other ways, should they choose to. So, unless there is a drug addiction to support, they do it because they want to. One would reason...
