I'm pretty sure Israel is beyond flying propeller driven aircraft. I'd be willing to bet those are UAV, small hobby type with cameras and explosive payloads. Everybody should watch "Palestine is Still the Issue" google it.

Israel has every right to go into Gaza.
If Hamas is going to hide behind civillians and fight then Israel must take the fight to them ( Hamas)

This is going completely off topic... even you scott...

Now for the cameras... the dawn of a new day and it seems the bombings have stopped... still hear the drones but I dont see smoke what so ever and it all seems extremely calm.

Was this a "cease fire" day or some special day for the jews? Some kind of holidays? I dont even see smoke or hear any gun fight even from light arms...

There was small arms fire about 5 minutes ago, just off and on. Maybe they are watching a beautiful sunrise. But then again, after all the WP earlier, they are probably taking time to reload and regroup.

More likely they have had an operational pause to reform unit integrity. In an urban environment you do not want your units spread out but rather a cohesive force. That or they ran out of SDB and are waiting for the US to give them some more.

I have been watching the live cam for a couple of nights now and each night i hear that rooster. I have also shared this livecam with some other people that i chat with. We have decided to name the rooster. The best we could come up with is Hope or Comfort in Arabic (which none of know) because despite the war, killing and death that is going on, hearing that rooster every morning is comforting and gives hope that life will go on.

I've noticed the same thing, it brings a sort of comfort to hear that rooster... until the shocks are heard again.

If we're going to put it to a vote, I vote we call it "Phoenix"... the bird that rose from the ashes.

The sun is coming up now, I'll be able to accurately locate the areas the detonations occur in again.

Hopefully it won't be like yesterday, most of the bombs and burning buildings were in residential areas.

I have noticed a lul in the fighting myself now for a while, they may have brought the cease fire ahead again without warning like yesterday (even though they kept bombing during it)

as far as a nake for the rooster, if they can't get aid in I think he will be called "ameal"

I agree on Phoenix for the rooster.
It seems like an appropriate name.

Could be GAZA'S new mascot.

When Phoenix the Rooster was crowing yesterday, there was a lull in the fighting as well.

The morning is likely a transition period to move the soldiers out who are best at night fighting, and move in the day grunts.

But, like you, I also hope they've adhered to calls for a ceasefire... unfortunately, much of my jaded side thinks that's just not going to happen.

Israel has often declared Hamas to be members of the general public... but then turns around and says it's not going to stop until Hamas is completely wiped out.
They also said at the beginning of this that they'd never consider occupying Gaza... yesterday I read a report stating they were thinking of a 4th phase which involved total military occupation.

I don't think Israel is going to be giving up their land grab just yet.
(Is it too early to call it a land grab?)

lots of explosions with a heli flying arround for a long time, ambulances coming and goin, some machine guns being fired with the background of the cocks singing as the sun raises into the morning

Well, looks like our hopes of a ceasefire are crushed... again.

To those who want to know, you're seeing a contrast of light and dark at the moment between the two cameras because ones looking at a valley, and the other is looking at buildings that are catching sunlight.

Its not a delayed feed.

It seems as though this feed has had bandwidth problems the last 5 hours or so It kept cutting out all the time. Now it seems the feed is back up strong, now that the east coast usa is all in bed sleeping. I wonder how many connections this server can handle, there must be thousands of people watching it at any given point. The bombs seem to be getting closer and closer to the camera every night. I often wonder if the location the camera is in will get hit. I hope not . That rooster is getting popular on this board.
I have a feeling israel will go all the way and re occupy gaza. They are taking the negative hit and going full bore. I wonder if this cam will survive that long. Its got to be very stressful that at any given moment, your building could be next.
