Some new information has come out of the Bahamas.

The Travolta family state that Jett fell around the time he was found, at 10 in the morning. Investigators state that he collapsed the night before. Earlier reports coming from the hotel where they lived, had Jett entering the bathroom shortly after 5:30 the evening before. This discrepancy should be confirmed when all the details of the autopsy are revealed.

The "Nanny" who was caring for Jett, and who is also the one who found Jett in the bathroom after his fall, is named Jeff Kathrein. Jeff is is a Tampa, Fla. based wedding photographer and is NOT a trained caretaker nor therapist. He has his own web page and you can confirm this yourself. This speaks loudly to the quality of care Jett was receiving.

Kathrein could not be reached for comment, but according to his Website he is happily married and his wife is expecting their first baby this year.
The Travolta family maintains Jett's health problems were due to Kawasaki disease, a rare inflammatory ailment affecting the blood vessels that most often occurs in early childhood.
Preston, 46, blamed household cleaners and fertilizers for her son's illness. She told People magazine Jett underwent a detoxification program based on teachings from the Church of Scientology and his health improved.
Advocates for autistic kids - a vocal group that includes other big time Hollywood actors - charged the Travoltas were covering up their son's true condition because it would require Jett to see a psychiatrist.
Scietology forbids adherents to see shrinks.

Six pediatricians diagnosed Jett with Autism yet the Travoltas stick with a cureable childhood disease, and carpet cleaners or fertilizers as the cause if Jetts health issues. and frequent seizures.

I hate to bring this up, but...do you really believe that the Travoltas were full on practicing Scientologists? Or do you think they were in name only?

I ask this because it is pretty obvious that John Travolta was as gay as Peter pan on ice skates, and that peck on the lips with the "nanny" that included an embrace didn't look like "Scientology working". Maybe they only said this stuff publicly--kinda like their marriage was "public" and maybe behind closed doors they treated him for his condition and actually gave him medication like they claimed.

I mean, I don't know. John Travolta could be as straight as say Tom Cruise
He could be a total 100% practitioner. But Jason Beghe sort of alluded to the fact that maybe he was being held hostage by the COS higher ups and no longer practicing behind closed doors.

Hey everyone.

Here are some of Hubbard's own words on the subject of how people like Jett should be treated.

And on epilepsy

And then people who have epilepsy, which is a type of disease which gives them seizures, are almost always found on some minor drug that prevents them from getting these—they call them petit mal seizures. Thats epilepsy. I dont care how they call it. Sometimes they really seize and sometimes its just slight. One of those, if an epileptic ever took you by the hand and so forth, hes liable to break every bone in your hand, if he suddenly had a seizure. But the doctors keep them on something to prevent this. Its just a tranquilizer and they keep them on that one year, year in and year out. And then you come along as an auditor and you try to audit the pc and you tell the pc that hell have to go off that drug. And then all of a sudden, why something will happen from someplace or another that the pc will tell the doctor that they have been taken off the drug by the auditor. And the doctor will call up plaintively asking you to please put her back on the drug because she needs this. And you get into a collision between medical treatment and so on. Now Ive been using a lot of medical words here or chemical words really. Just dont pay any attention to them because theyre mostly gobbledygook, and theres an awful lot of gobbledygook words. Gobbledygook just means nonsense chatter, you see. Theres an awful lot of them

Thanks for posting that Madame Guillotine and welcome to ATS!

I think that a lot of people are not fully briefed on just how different Scientology is from other "religions".

Thanks Rintendo!

This is a very different format from what I'm use to but I really think I could get hooked on this place!
Once I figure it out.

People who are scientologists and want to discuss this with people who know what it's about should check out exscientologykids

Yes, we have our flame ups over here, but people are not immature enough to post snark like "wishing Jett a speedy recovery" on this site.

Sheesh.

EDIT: Interesting...found this on another site...

The only reason that the lawyers said that they stopped giving him Depakote was that when the Doctors doing the autopsy found liver damage from too much niacin they could blame it on the Depakote.

From the Washington Post:

It is erroneously believed, the authors write, that massive doses of vitamin B3 can rapidly flush drugs from a user's body and produce a negative drug test for marijuana and coc aine by speeding up metabolism.

In reality, they write, it can prove toxic, causing heart palpitations, vomiting, blood sugar abnormalities and liver failure. The recommended daily dose of niacin is about 14 to 16 milligrams per day; the 14-year-old who was treated at Children's said he took 5,500 milligrams.

It had not occurred to me that they might lie about medication. Yeh yeh I'm naive.

I have a friend who went through the Narconon "ritual" and became very ill from the process. He went there to detox from pot and came out with an infection far worse than his marijuana problem.

I hope that on top of everything else that the poor child had to deal with he didn't have the pain associated with their "detox" program. That would make me very sad.

Greetings Rintendo and thank you for your input,

Most believe that Kelly Preston is far more of a hard core Scientologist that John is but it is difficult to determine clearly. Kelly is more vocal and public about it, but that in and of itself is not a definite indicator.

We do know that the Cult commonly uses it's knowledge of your life, to control you. It had been reported that knowledge of Johns homosexual activity was used to keep him in check. The Cult could have threatened to reveal his behavior to the public which might have effected his early career, but that power would now be null and void as he was outed several years ago. It is factually established that John on more than one occasion engaged the services of a male prostitute. This is a matter of public record, and the world at large simply went. "Eh, thats Hollywood for ya." and rightfully so, no one cared. His life style is his choice.

I personally believe that his marriage to Kelly is genuine. Their obvious affection for each other and their children is clear to see.

Being bisexual while against the rules of the cult, would not be enough to get a celebrity kicked out. Remember, that celebrity Scientologists have a far less harsh relationship with the cult than standard members do. Homosexuality in a standard member is expressly forbidden. In L. Ron Hubbard's writings, he states that all homosexuals are sexual perverts who should be "uniformly institutionalized" and that homosexuality can be cured. His own words about Homosexuals...

"The only answers would seem to be the permanent quarantine of such persons from society to avoid the contagion of their insanities ..."

In more recent times, the Cult has softened it's Public stance against homosexuality as it brought too much negative attention to them as being Discriminatory. In practice however, the cult continues to attempt to cure homosexuals and to control their behavior.

He sounds deranged (not just his ideas, but how he expresses them). A quick google search brought up multiple files saying he was a paranoid schizophrenic (FBI files and apparently his own family thought so too).

Sounds quite a bit like Manson in some ways.

He also coined the phrase "If you want to make millions, start your own religion".

What amazes me is that people on this board say "Scientology isn't any worse than any other religion". They are truly clueless about the nature of real cults.

Here are some more for you...

"Somebody some day will say 'this is illegal.' By then be sure the orgs [Scientology organizations] say what is legal or not." - L. Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter, 4 January 1966, "LRH Relationship to Orgs"

"If attacked on some vulnerable point by anyone or anything or any organization, always find or manufacture enough threat against them to cause them to sue for peace. Peace is bought with an exchange of advantage, so make the advantage and then settle. Don't ever defend. Always attack. Don't ever do nothing. Unexpected attacks in the rear of the enemy's front ranks work best." - L. Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter, "Department of Governmental Affairs", 15 Aug 1960

"The purpose of the suit is to harass and discourage rather than to win. The law can be used very easily to harass, and enough harassment on somebody who is simply on the thin edge anyway, well knowing that he is not authorized, will generally be sufficient to cause his professional decease. If possible, of course, ruin him utterly." - L. Ron Hubbard, A MANUAL ON THE DISSEMINATION OF MATERIAL, 1955

"In short a staff member can get away with murder so long as his statistic is up and can't sneeze without a chop if it's down. ... When people do start reporting a staff member with a high statistic, what you investigate is the person who turned in the report." - L. Ron Hubbard, HCO PL 1 September 1965, "Ethics Protection"

"When we need somebody haunted we investigate. When we investigate we do so noisily always." - L. Ron Hubbard, MANUAL OF JUSTICE, 1959

"People attack Scientology, I never forget it, always even the score. People attack auditors, or staff, or organisations, or me. I never forget until the slate is clear." - L. Ron Hubbard, MANUAL OF JUSTICE, 1959

"So we listen. We add up associations of people with people. When a push against Scientology starts somewhere, we go over the people involved and weed them out. Push vanishes." - L. Ron Hubbard, MANUAL OF JUSTICE, 1959

"Our organizations are friendly. They are only here to help you." - L. Ron Hubbard, "Dianetic Contract" 23 May 1969

One should keep in mind the on going denial of Jetts autism by John and Kelly. They continue to stick to their claim of Kawasaki Disease os the sole source of his health issues.
Are they wrong? Well, who could we ask? How about John Travoltas brother Joey. Family members would have an intimate knowledge of the truth.

Joey Travolta Speaks about Jetts Autism

Joey Travolta is very active in the Autism support community as you can learn in this video.

More further development:

Death certificate: Travolta son killed by seizure
Associated Press Writer Vanessa Rolle – 2 hrs 10 mins ago
news.yahoo.com...

FREEPORT, Bahamas – Jett Travolta's body shows no sign of head trauma and his death certificate says he was killed by a "seizure," an undertaker said Monday, as the 16-year-old's celebrity parents prepared for a Florida funeral.

Glen Campbell, assistant director of the Bahamian funeral home handling the remains of John Travolta's son, told The Associated Press that the body is in "great condition," despite police officials who had said the teen hit his head on a bathtub.

Authorities didn't release the results of an autopsy performed Monday, but Campbell saw the body and the death certificate, which was based on its findings.

"The only cause of death that was listed was 'seizure'," he said.

I saw that earlier and was a bit puzzled. They reported blood from his head, and everyone reported him slipping and hitting his head on the bathtub. Wouldn't that be death by head trauma, caused during a fall, that was the result of a seizure?

Im offended. When Calpton's son fell out the window was it the Bible's fault? I think this is nothing but bigotry. How many of you have really read any scientology books. Actual books not just typing it into google and looking at the hate websites.

Kid, When you've had family members loose all sense of reality and after leaving family and friends to never be seen again, maybe then you will understand just what this CULT of existential BS is all about. Its about money and controll of those who produce and earn money for the cult. It has absolutlely NOTHING to do with a system of true enlightenment.

Although I think blaming Scientology for the childs death is jumping the gun a bit, I have to respond to this:

"Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wanted to make a million dollars the best way would be to start his own religion..."
- L.Ron Hubbard (science fiction author & founder of scientology)

Do you still think it's not a cult?

I really dont agree with parents forcing their kids at age 3 to be vegetarians say, its not right, the child should be able to grow up and then decide. We dont allow kids to vote or make other major decisions on their life because we quite rightly say they dont have a mature enough mind, so why do we then think they can be vegetarians or scientologists under 16. Its not fair on them.

I am a vegetarian and although I don't force it on anyone around me, the comparison you have made is completely absurd. Being a vegetarian is not a weird cult or anything like that! LOL!!!

In fact with the state of animals now days, it's probably better for kids. No one ever heard of "mad carrot disease" or "bean flu"

Just curious about how careful you are with other foods like these as well.
Organic foods can be too expensive for most people. Raw foods can and have been proved to be contaminated by bacteria, parasites and molds etc. Perchlorates and other chemicals are another problem.

Does Dianetics count? **waves** I read the first few chapters until I couldn't take the boredom anymore.

I also downloaded the tech from a Freezone website and read through several of the exercises. The tech can be downloaded for free from Freezoners website. They already paid the first time for the materials and if it is a religion, IE "Truth" you shouldn't have to pay for it anyway. It then belongs to everyone.

I got as far as the fifth exercise (the chair ones) and said to myself that it was a hypnotic deprivation exercise and not for me. The Alice in Wonderland thing was really bizarre.

I also have friends who were former Scientologists and had a Scientologist friend who recently (August) committed suicide.

I'm not saying that I am an authority, but I have read enough about it to make my decision on it. Not only that, but seeing as how I have been criticized by anti-Scientologists for being too "light" on Scientologists I guess I'm pretty fair in my treatment. In fact, I was even accused of being a Scientologist "spy" because I would mix my criticism with a dose of "...but on the other hand."

I think Scientology is as valid a self-help organization as any other self-help organization. If it works for you...great. However, I do not think it is a religion. Whether or not it made a deal to be classified as one with the IRS is another story, but it does not act like a religion. If it claimed to be a self-help org I would have an easier time with the fees it charges.

Donations are at a person's leisure--so don't anyone please tell me its a donation. None of my friends were allowed to say: Yeh, I'm not going to pay that "fee" I'll give you $5 for that class. RCIA in the Catholic Church is FREE. Religious education in other religions is FREE. Because truth belongs to no one and those imparting the truth are donating their time.

Religions allow you to leave without checking out. If I want to quit being a Catholic I stop going.

Religions feed the poor. Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism all have over 250 references in each canon to the eradication of poverty. I have yet to see this same concern in Scientology.

Religions care for the sick. They don't usually blame them for being sick. Scientology says that it is caused by a PTS (this could be you, a friend, etc.)

Religions strengthen family. Lifelong marriage is a tenant of most religions. Family bonds are the core of each faith. Many Scientologists I have met, most in fact, do not have this experience.

Now, this doesn't mean that Scientology is not a religion because it doesn't act like other religions. But considering that its founder even said it wasn't a religion I find it extremely eyebrow raising that it is now being touted as one.

Still...adults have the right to self-destiny, so regardless of what I think of Scientology I have argued for their right to choose it.

I think it's somewhat suspicious that Jett was cremated. I seriously doubt he wanted this death for his son regardless and I wouldn't ever be interested in treating him and his family that way.

It is sad he may not have had better care for his seizure issues, but I wonder if that would have increased his son's quality of life by much.

Whatever it was, JT knows and has to live with it. I think he'll eventually talk about it at some point. Right now they need their space. It may be too late for Jett, but not others like him.

I would imagine JT may do something in Jett's name and honor for kids like Jett. Autism and or seizures caused by unhealthy environments, regardless of Scientology.
