Could someone post the earthquakes that have happened in last few hours. I can't access the site. Thanks for the help.

There are quite a few showing up on the recorder.

www.seis.utah.edu...

I cant tell the magnitude I dunno how to read them. I was trying to use the GEE general earthquake explorer to start doing it but I notice the sensors that we would want to look at are down. You can see them on Utahs website but Im guessing the USGS pulled the plug. If thats where GEE gets its data. Was quite off to me all of the other sensors are spitting out data just fine.

I dont think they are reporting them. As much activity as Im seeing on the graph they are barely putting anything on that list you just showed me. Either under staffed or something.

I just check out the link as also. I can't believe that the rest of the world is experiencing earthquakes as well.

Happy New Year everyone...2009 just arrived here in Pennsylvania. Lets hope 2009 will be ok, with no booms.

I will laugh if Yellowstone blows at midnight in it's timezone...

Happy New Years all! With a hope that it isn't a toasty then very cold one!

In regards to their new statement of "all is normal", they are correct. It is totally NORMAL AND NATURAL for the Volcano to blow. They are using choice words to avert panic.

The world is always experiencing earthquakes - lots more than we think. When you start tracking them - it is an eye opening experience. There are definite hot spots

The thing about the RSOE site - is that you get a taste of all of the natural disasters happening around the world. It makes the world seem like a much smaller place -
You begin to appreciate whatever "isn't" happening where you live - and have empathy for those areas/people that are struggling.

Happy New Year everyone.
Let's manifest a good one.

Happy New Year all!! I've been following this for a couple of days now, & did find a couple of sites that are still showing great updates. Check them out:

mbmgquake.mtech.edu/earthworm/wavef_disp/welcome.html

This site has a lot of links on it. The ones I have found that are showing the most activity are Lewis & Clark Caverns, Lyon Mountain, Bozeman Pass, Stillwater Mine, Blacktail Mountain, and Lake, Wyoming (Yellowstone). I'm not sure where these are all at in reference to the other site that is falling behind on it's updates, but there sure seems to be a lot of activity in these locations too. You can also get to this site by going to:

www.seis.utah.edu/helicorder/heli/yellowstone/index.html

and clicking on the link to Montana Bureau of Mines & Geology Webicorders.

This confuses me.
Now another 2.8 just announced - Let's see if it stays

At least the Utah site has them listed.

www.seis.utah.edu...

2 very close together in time as well.

Since this is round 2 of what happened over the weekend, we come down to whether this is growing in intensity or not.

Anxious to see how the next 10-12 hours plays out.

It is interesting that the GPS ground deformation sensors show dramatic (relatively) rises in the last two days for the closest monitoring stations. If this keeps up then the ground bulge (top dome of the magma chamber) will be expanding at an unprecidented rate. Not good.

Check out daily updates to the ground deformation at these links:

Seems to me the first flurry relieved some pressure, but now the magma wants more room.

Or is it perhaps that godzilla like creature foretold to rise on new years day 2009?

As seen here, you can clearly see those 2 tremors, both in the same 15 minute span.

Who knows?!

The last 2.8 went missing as well. But there are still some Yellowstone ones on there from earlier in the day. I don't know. It's odd. I don't recall ever seeing this happen with any of the other quakes -

There must be a reasonable explanation that those in widget land could explain as to why this would happen? I'm watching this closely and I will compare what is posted on the other sites - to make sure they are listed on there.
