For those interested, the Science Channel is airing a new show called "When Yellowstone Erupts". It is on right now, but like other stations, it replays the show several times in the near future.

It's not irrational to question the drilling in Wyoming.

Another rig has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico.

Safety and the enviroment are not the main priorities.

Profit is the bottomline.

A corporation doesn't have a conscience.

How close, is too close, to Yellowstone??

BAN FRACKING!!

STOP DRILLING!!

Let's step into the future already.

Wow, made it to Yellowstone,
Did the Norris springs and geysers
today going to Old faithful tomorrow.
And will look at Yellowstone lake.

I spoke with a few park rangers about the "fracking" and
neither had a clue about it.They said I should contact the lead
geo scientist for the park.
Got many pics of the pools..
I will upload the pics when I get a chance,

Yeah i had to slide out of there too on Wednesday, went to Jackson Hole and got a hotel, then went back in on Thursday. No way i was sleeping in a tent in 27 and snow lol...

To everyone else, i took about 1200 pics and videos from all corners of the park, and some backcountry geyser basins. I just got home an hour ago, so itll be a bit before i post anything....including the interesting changes i noted since my last trip last year....

Youre from Wi too?? Probably passed you lol...well, i took HY 2 along the Canadian border on the return trip...went to Glacier up north of Yellowstone also.

Imcatching up on my reading...seems someone was wondering bout geysers and hot springs drying up...that i definitely concur with...and will set up photos from the last 2 years to prove it. And i had a few discussions with rangers, who pretty much only seem to know what theyve been told lol. I told em about this thread, and to come and be educated lol....

Ya der hey,. Just got back, lots of pics,. have to sort most of them. I did allot of catching up on my reading about YS.
I just love it there. Had a one on one with a buffalo, he was in my lane as I was trying to get through the park. After a stare-down, I asked him to get out of the road and he moved '
'

It is such a great reminder when you visit this park to reflect on the power of the earth..when you see the size of this volcanic rim...
Gotta get some sleep,.. been drivin for 16 hrs..
Stopped at Devils Tower on the way back.. that is cool also. in fact when you really look at the landscaping along the whole western part of the US,. you can see the history of the volcanic actions..

Here is something from Foxnews today that we have tossed around here before.

A plume of molten rock rising from deep beneath Yellowstone National Park is probably what is fueling the region's volcanic activity, as well as tectonic plate oddities across the Pacific Northwest, new research suggests.

So we were driving along one of the routes in Yellowstone and it was very windy.
As I was watching many of the dead trees sway among the new growth I had a concerning thought.
I said to my wife,"This high wind is not cool, we could be seriously hurt if one of these these fell"

While we drove cautiously throughout the rest of the park,. we so coincidentally came upon a family
who's car had the rear window and trunk crushed by a rather large pine that just fell as they were driving along
that very moment.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in that car, as it landed so far to the back.
Just something to be on look out for if you get a chance to visit.
Bears, buffalo, earthquakes, and falling rocks are not the only thing to watch out for

Thanks for the info. Drummer - Food for thought = Sometimes it isn't the instrument swaying from the trees/poles that give us interferance - it could just be a tree fell in the forest
or on someones car
