The very weird ones I think are the usual calibration signal already occurred many times in the past on LKWY.

The two odd spikes are calibration pulses.

If you search the web you will find them easy enough

What I have a problem with, is the fact that some monitors at YS, have shown activity over the last week. There have been definitive events and spikes, yet this is all they are showing as "real" activity on the USGS site.
It seems they are not posting everything actually going on.

Is it because they know there is so much attention on it right now?

Seriously, spikes that should have been listed, were not.
So the question is "really": What IS going on at Yellowstone?

imao i love it . sure ill take one . let me find you a pic to go with it tho if you dont mind.

and while your doing that ill look at some detailed webithingys with very good harmonic tremors and normal quakes for compairison .

A major eruption isn't expected.

"Those not as well-versed in how this activity may impact the park often go immediately to the supervolcano question," he said. "We did not have any indications that there was magma activity."

I agree entirely - YS has been quiet but bumping around a bit more than they are reporting to the public, or so it seems.

Maybe they're just being lazy or out of personnel.

EDIT: they added two. Are they reading this thread?

Oh and by the way two earthquake-like spikes just occurred between YLT (288 nm) and YML (400 nm).

I Thought this was very interesting to the theory of electrical influences.

-- "Since magma gives off electric currents, electric meters are used tospot rising magma levels by measuring its electric current. Gravimeters can also detect flowing magma.

-- Scientists also take temperatures and gauge gas by using a Landsat satellite. The satellite uses infared sensors to detect temperatures and changes in volcanoes. Aircraft monitors the amount of gas released from the ground. An increase in sulfur dioxide and other gases usually means that there could be volcanic eruptions.

-- The tiltmeter is a sensor that uses a laser beam to find the rising or lowering of magma levels by measuring changes in ground elevation.

-- GPS(Global Positioning System) is a method to determine position of locations on Earth. It uses satellites that broadcast a signal and receivers that pick up and record the signal. GPS uses the relationship between velocity, distance, and time (velocity equals distance divided by time). With GPS, the velocity is the speed of light. Knowing the velocity and time (and the position of the satellite) allows the distance to be calculated. As magma moves up into a volcano the volcano swells and distances between points on the volcano increases (think of dots on a balloon) and the elevation at specific points increases. Such a change is a common occurrence prior to an eruption. "

From what I've been seeing the last couple of weeks, it looks like it's still active, but along what would be normal level. Unless we see a lot more 2+ earthquakes again like the ones that were going across the caldera at the beginning of the month, I'd say everything's ok for now. 400 pages and 7999 posts now.
