There's a lot of oil wells and coal mines in Wyoming, and I know there's so much mining and drilling in Rock Springs that it's hard to find a hotel or rental in that town, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if that's what's going on there.

Yes it is. We had a 3.1 yesterday - I think.
But this one was really close to me. Under my house. : )

Actually I don't think it was yesterday - I'm a little daffy -
We have been getting them also in the big bear area.
It's been more active than usual in this particular area - since the yellowstone flurry -

Luckily we don't get many here in the UK... Although we had a good one last year, I was sat at the PC bout 1AM and the house rolled.. It was such an odd feeling

Yea they are freaky.. The Denali quake that hit several years back "rolled" almost like slow waves under your feet but mostly around these parts they just shake and rumble but can sound a bit like a freight train. Spooky..

Yea - It's an eyeopener every time we get one here.
Just another reminder of the nature of life and our control over it. Not.

This was a big hit -no rolling - like a sonic boom. It sounded and felt a lot like the one we got 2-3 weeks or so before the big Northridge quake. Just had an aftershock. Which is actually a little weird. I don't remember getting any aftershocks from something so small.

I hate aftershocks!! Truly your senses should only have to suffer once you know..

absolutely - We spent a couple of nights on the floor after the Northridge one -
Just can't get comfortable with the anticipation of it all. I can't even imagine what they have gone through in China - indonesia - etc.. Sleeping outside. Trying to find some sense of safety.

I hope these aren't fore shocks.

Yea - Baja gets them - but we don't usually in this particular area. But like I said - they have been more frequent and closer since the swarm in Wyoming and Nevada areas.

I hope they aren't fore shocks either. I would like to sleep tonight.

Three yesterday under Lake Yellowstone greater than 1.0, with a couple more about 20 miles north of LKWY, one at 1.6, up close to where that 3.9 hit a couple weeks ago.

USGS EQ list centered on LKWY

The musicians are warming up, but the conductor hasn't taken the stage yet.

lol I decided to post something too. Make a new account and stuff so I could post. And I was cracking up cause I was thinking, I sound like a radio caller. "Hey guys, long time reader. Blah blah blah."

Anyway, yeah... I saw the new earth quakes at YS. And have been checking them everytime. Nothing new. Nothing exciting. Just them finally updating what we've already known. I don't expect much from it. *shrugs*

Tried to connect to the live web cam this morning at YS. The page with the link for the web cam opened but instead of the usual look, it was just xml tags. I tried a couple of times...same thing. So, I went to the Mt Washburn live web still shot cam and don't know what to make of that image. I have been watching it for about 20 mins now and while the images from Mt Wasburn are changing, they look a lot like a volcano cloud.

Note -- I am finally able to get the live feed from Yellowstone, so believe there is just something wrong with the Mt Wasburn camera but since this is a consipiracy based web site, wanted to include what happened this morning. I took screen shots this morning but don't have a place to put them to be able to uplink them here.

P

Note - yes, I realize if the area really had erupted, the camera at Mt Washburn would/could have been destroyed and not still sending images....but it does look weird and that is what I wanted to share this morning.
