Seems they just changed the settings for YMR to 125 microvolts from 100.
All the others are still at 100 while LKWY is still at 500.
Seems an odd way to coorolate data having differing settings at differing stations.

I just pulled all the numbers for this. I will start a new post as it is a little long.

ever here of cold? it's a form of weather you know. cold weather + hot, wet areas = steam & fog. Would you people get over it already, you freak out over every little thing on that yellowstone cam.

Just a thought - It's been snowing like crazy in the area. Winters here see quite a bit of moisture. Increased rain and snow = Increased flow?

I haven't looked closely enough at the data you've been going over, but has that been a consideration in your factoring?

Interested...

Good am to you.
I think after this lull,(quiet between labor pains as someone said last night) we may be on a ramp up again.

I keep thinking about the fact that we are in a striking solar minimum right now... No storms. It seems as if all of the geothermal regions on our side of the Pacific plate are acting up in unison...

I had a fiancé who moved to Clear Lake. I went and stayed for a couple of weeks on the side of Konocti Volcano in Clear Lake.. Wierd area. Not a lot of 4 magnitudes or greater historically.. mostly small quakes.

For the record ---> Ugly country too, not like the Appalachians..

Maybe it will blow up. Nothing of value lost..

Just watched OF go off on the web cam. Checked back to the thread for updates then went back to webcam. All the snow on the walkways is melted all of a sudden. Is that normal? I've never been there and this is the first I've watched the show.

Ok seriously now....get some Windex and clean that camera lens. it's absolutely filthy. The camera can't even focus past all the crap on it.

"Ugly Country"? Surely you jest.
Losing Yellowstone would suck. Not to mention the, you know, worldwide implications of such an event.

more changes...
YFT from 100 to 125 microvolts
YDC 100 to 50 microvolts

Why would they be changing the settings?

Not to mention, if a quake causes an opening in the caldron . . . you could get water from one of the rivers or the lake into the caldron filled with hot magma . . . yikes . . . you will get an explosion like Krakatoa in 1883, which blew up when the cold sea water crashed in on the hot magma!

GEE is showing increased activity in ID. TA.a14A Jones Ranch. Up to 600 Amp. It is not that far from Wyoming and near the last earthquake.

quake.utah.edu... Alright, maybe I am just looking at this the wrong way, but it seems that they have updated for today now on the Earthquake Animation above... But, as I watched it, the number of quakes was GOING DOWN as it moved into Sunday. I thought that odd, as it shows and tallies, all quakes over the past week. On Saturday morning it showed like 300 quakes and it finishes out the animation with 197, I think it was.

Ok, I just pulled the microvolt for all the charts listed on www.seis.utah.edu...

YPP 50
YTP 100
YLT 66.67
YFT 125
YLA 100
LKWY 500
YML 100
YMR 125
YDC 50
YUF 1428.57 No this is not a typo
YNR 166.67
YPK 166.67
YMP 66.67
YHB 83.33
YJC 83.33
YMC 100
YHH 83.33
YSB 83.33
YMV 100
MCID 100

Why are they different? My quick responce as an Engineer would be due to the differences at each location. Depth, soil or rock content, ect.
I know there was some links posted about the details of each somewhere in this thread, but I don't remember where.
I also ran across this page samples of readings
This shows that depending on which recorder you are looking at, the wind, a car, ect can make the waves.
I know most of us have learned a ton in the last week about all this. But, unless we know the key as to what is what on these, we will not have an acurate picture of what is real.

Well I have a question thats been bugging me.
If Yellowstone had the Big One and blew the caldera, besides the immediate destruction of the caldera, wouldnt the freakin HUGE blast cause a freakin HUGE EQ that would be felt for perhaps hundreds of miles around?

I dont hear that from any of the experts, just the fact that it would destroy everything within 60-100 miles. I dont know, I dont think I've read anything so far concerning that.

Can you imagine how frustrating it would be for the specialists to know that there are this many people looking at "their" data. There was a time when everything could be hidden. It would not surprise me if data is withheld.

And yes - I do wonder what the state leaders are up to.
