Why is it always the United States that has to broker a deal between Israel and the Palestinians? Why don't the Arab countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and others get more involved? Isn't it in their interest for that region not to explode into a bigger war? The whole thing stinks.

It is because the Arab nations are using the Palestinians as patsies to keep the area unstable. It's their entertainment. It keeps bloodshed on the evening news.

At least 30 children killed in Gaza Strip, Israeli spokesperson says they are legitimate target

Gaza / PNN – Not only are children in the Gaza Strip losing their parents, missing food, medicines and school, they are being killed.

Israeli forces took the lives of at least 30 children in Gaza since air attacks began on Saturday. A statement issued by the Global Movement for the Defense of Children says its initial reports indicate that another 150 children are injured.

The first children hit en masse were during struck during the beginning of the attacks when they were leaving school. Dozens of school children were raced to area hospitals in Gaza City on Saturday. Among the children killed are the sisters in Jabaliya yesterday and the eight year old boy today in Khan Younis.

The British university movement to boycott Israel wrote in their petition, "'Children,' says an Israeli spokeswoman, 'are legitimate targets because if they inhabit a house allegedly being used to manufacture home-made rockets to fire into Israel, they are 'terrorists' themselves.'"

The international children’s agency Global Defense for Children called today on the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency session. The UNSC has yet to take effective action to force Israel to stop its aggression or apply previous UN resolutions, which include an end to occupation.

Defense for Children asked that the European Union and its member states seek to for the application of the rules of international humanitarian law. The Israeli administration has a poor record internationally when it comes to Palestinian children with at least 300 in its prisons.

The EU is under heavy pressure by humanitarian organizations to impose sanctions on Israel and to cease all diplomatic relations.

At the same time the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions are obliged to respect and enforce the convention as stated in Article I. Those who violate it are subject to criminal charges of crimes against humanity. The Global Defense for Children noted today that the individual criminal responsibility does not become obsolete and that at some point all will be prosecuted.

If im not mistaken, even Hitler claimed that his victims were legitimate targets: why are we yet talking about holocaust then? They were legitimate targets, right? Like to say that every israelian child is a legitimate target because he breathes, and then he has to choose: stop breathing or get killed. Since WHEN international laws apply to all countries but Israel? Who decided it and WHEN? Where is written that Israel can do what everyone else CANNOT?

Just some notes about WHAT Israel is violating right now, with the support of US veto:
IF Israel wants to be considered a Coutry then it has to respect the Fourth Geneva Convention, otherwise i don't see what they are claiming.

Part I. General Provisions, article 3, part A:

Article 3 states that even where there is not a conflict of international character the parties must as a minimum adhere to minimal protections described as: noncombatants, members of armed forces who have laid down their arms, and combatants who are hors de combat (out of the fight) due to wounds, detention, or any other cause shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, with the following prohibitions:
(a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture;

Article 33. No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.

Article 49. The second paragraph of Article 49 provides that persons displaced during armed conflict must be transferred back to their homes as soon as hostilities in the area in question have ceased. This right of displaced persons is often referred to as the "right of return" and has been reaffirmed in later international treaties and conventions. State Practice also establishes this rule as a norm of customary international law, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Is tyhere someone who claims that Israel respected these articles? Are you reading the articles or just looking at the photographs?

The answer is simple, ignore protoplasma's insane ramblings. All he does is repeat the same nonsense. His blatantly racists attacks only succeed in garnering more sympathy for the Israelis, except of course with other racists.

Yes, I have ignored most of it. As long as it gives him pleasure, all the more power to him.

There are people in this thread who support the is holocaust and the murder of men , women and children - then claim its all justified and anyway its all made up and no one is dead and its staged for the camera.

do you also support the forth reich?

personally im for peace in this world - but with certain countries expansionist policies and the want to grab resources, right now that won`t happen.

but some people in this thread don`t want to give peace a chance.

Sadly, it is the parents, and/or the state's elders, who are placing their children into the war path.

They clearly do not value their children the way that we value our children; otherwise, they would not be hoarding missiles and bombs under the same roof their children lay their heads. Especially, considering they've been given very clear warnings that those specific places will be positively targeted and destroyed.

My conclusion:

It is no easier for us to debate with these lovers and sympathisers of Hamas Muslim extremists and terrorists than it is for Israel to negotiate peace.

They don't want peace. They are here to spread their lies, propaganda and anti-semitic hate. They are stuck in a feed back loop with no hope of recovery from it.

I think it's time to agree to disagree on this particular thread. It has been enlightening and I enjoyed my new friends' commentary.

I am ashamed to say the only thing that enables this is the Veto power of my own country the United States of America in the United Nations Security Council.

I am 44 years old and I have yet to discover a credible answer to why we have been so empowering Israel to commit these atrocities for 30 years now.

There is no credible or justifiable reason why we aide and support the nation of Israel in such biased and unseemly ways in their amoral endeavors.

Thanks for speaking to the truth so many want to pretend simply does not exist for the sake of foolish political correctness and misinterpeted and missapplied religious scripture.

Big star on your post, thanks!

according to your source

The British university movement to boycott Israel wrote in their petition, "'Children,' says an Israeli spokeswoman, 'are legitimate targets because if they inhabit a house allegedly being used to manufacture home-made rockets to fire into Israel, they are 'terrorists' themselves.'"

A British University with the intent of boycotting write in a petition that an UNNAMEDIsraeli spokesman said.... and you bought it hook, line, and sinker.

This has a propaganda agenda written all over it.

you see thats the problem with pretending to be unbiaesd right there - both groups are on various `terrorist`lists - and yet your words say quite clearly you only consider Hamas (and by proxy the other 1.4 million in gaza based on your previous posts) as terrorists

so rather than being `unbiased` it shows that you firmly support the zionists - which , as i quoted from ynet , hate all non zionist jews in the rest of the planet ` we will never forgive` was used to describe them.

edit - `anti-semitic hate` , you see that breaks your entire arguement down - argue agaisnt israel so you get that label , which quite frankly is bloody impossible since BOTH peoples are semitic (origin being a son of noah).

Well since Gaza is one of the earth's most densely packed pieces of real estate with 1.3 million people cramped into an area not quite bigger than twice the size of Washington D.C., I doubt they have anywhere to hide the means to fight back against the people who stole their lands and property, murdered their relatives and loved ones in that process to that end, and herded them into a fraction of the land they were disenfranchised out of by a Zionist terrorist campaign waged against the British Mandate for that specific purpose.

I suppose a theif finds some moral authority in telling his victim, don't call the police, don't get up, lay there until I tell you that you can move again.

That is all Israel is doing is being that bullying theif as they continue to illegally occupy lands the World Community and the United Nations have long told them are not theirs to occupy.

Honestly, I think they have to not just expose their children to that, because of the lies you tell yourself and your children about those thefts and murders.

Honestly, I think they are doing what they are doing for their children because they have seen with each successive generation just how much worse Israeli crimes and persecutions become.

I think they do that because they know your never goign to tell your children the truth, while you criticize their children for having to living to with the inhumanity of that collective Israeli lie.

I think they are better parents to their children in not taking the easy or corrupt way out, but holding on and fighting as best they can, with the little they have, to right the injustices over the lies your parents told to you to pass on to your children.

The truth is Israel is a fascist terrorist nation who exists in defiance of every international law, and every treaty it has broken, on land it has stolen, and money it extorts and begs from others.

I bet the Palistineans are ten times more honest with their children than you are with yours.

Well, we don't know at which floor they were making their missiles: Israel claims that they were in the same place, while it could be simply the result of some random bombing, as it has happened in the past, and not just once. In the other hand, to gather all the military in a certain point, would be equal to say "here we are, bomb us", which wouldn't be strategically wise. All in all, i agree with you: Palestinian themselves have their own responsibilities of those deaths, but just because they KNEW that Israel would have bombed without caring who was where. The whole situation is simply unacceptable, in every other country we would have had the UN forces between the two fighters: here, since there's one country versus one NO_country, it's like that all is legitimate. 60 + civilians are a huge number, an unacceptable one: if Israel feels to be victim of some terrorist (and that's somewhat true), how comes that it's acting as the worst one of terrorists? There's no need to bomb at every cost: send troops and arrest/kill all your enemies. But to put the whole Gaza strip in such inhuman condition is equal to encourage terrorism, which is the NATURAL CONSEQUENCE of forcing people to live as BEASTS. If my town would have been bombed because some terrorist did launch some missile, and my relatives would die, and i'd have nothing to eat/drink, no medicaments and so on for my sons, I don't think that i would accept it peacefully

I would do sometyhing, don't know what, but something for sure, and anyway that would NOT be terrorism to my eyes. As always, the most innocent creatures, the children, are the real victims of this craze, that's what really hurts me, as well as when it hurts me to see the dead bosdies of some israeli children: my heart bleeds the same way, with no distinction.

I agree with you. Put a name to the source or they shouldn't quote nobody at all. This makes it easier to find out if the person actually said what they did. I get tired of hearing an anonymous source from washington said..blah blah.. or any other similar type situation.

Kudos to you.

Tho I believe that Israel has the right to defend itself, and Hamas is doing what it is doing becasue of what the Palestinians have endured for decades by the Israeli blockades and being surrounded like cattle in a corral, your information posted clearly shows what some, including me, have been saying all this time that Israel has taken this "right to defend itself" way over the top. Outright killing of innocent civilians is pure murder. It is not defense, it is genocide.

Now some would say its all just faked and something out of a movie set, it is not, it is reality to what has been going on since day one. This cannot be allowed to continue and I am ashamed at the US's lack of action and veto in letting this escalate this far and basically giving Israel a green light to commit AMD..Actions of Mass Death.

These two sides need to stop and stop NOW. Get back to the negotiation table and abide by their agreements unlike what both have been doing for the last 60 years making promises and agreements, only to throw those agreements out the window and do the same thing all over again, while the innocents on both sides pay the price.

Cheers!!!!
