It took 5 seconds before the dunce that was set to protect him to even stand up!

My God, where was the Secret Service?

What if it were a bullet? SS has jumped in front of bullets to save the life of a President!

Time to fire some idiots that dropped the ball.

Did you notice Bush kind of laughed at the situation, I bet he could use a good fight just now, problem is noone is going to throw the first punch to give him the opportunity...

Oh cut the politically correct garbage.

The journalist is uncivilized? When did standing at a podium mocking the deaths of half a million innocent civilians with lies become civilized?

You want to talk outrageous? Outrageous is how people insist that others speak of and treat the President as if he is someone who should be respected simply because of his job title.

Respect is earned. This President and this administration have earned no such thing.

What happened to everyone is created equal? Had W thrown his shoe at the journalist, I highly doubt you would be saying:

Whatever one may say of this journalist's opinions and writing skills, throwing a shoe at a member of the press and that too a member of the press of a country who has suffered over half a million innocent deaths in front of the whole world....

IS OUTRAGEOUS. Period! This needs to be strongly condemned. Should we condone such uncivilized behavior? The President, who likely has at least basic education to be one, needs to be taught some etiquette too.

Although the part "the president, who likely has at least basic education to be one" would be funny considering who we're talking about, the hypocrisy and double standard is even more amusing.

i think the guy should be given a medal for doing that. On another note, isn't G W Bush the most smug git in the world? His smirk after nearly getting hit...and his stupid comments, that the guy wanted attention!....yes George, that's what he wanted, attention. He was in no way pissed at you because you have caused destruction to his country and killed hundreds of thousands of his fellow citizens.
Seriously, what planet does Bush live on? He could have been more dignified by admitting, at least, that some people see the war as a bad thing, but by simply saying the guy wanted attention...well...if he had HAD any credibility left, he would have just lost it.

What if bush dodged into the shoes.... lol

I would love to see bush like dodged into the shoes.

I bet this shows what bush been doing throughout his career he been dodging the problems and then smiling about it when he succeeds at it.

I was drinking milk when I watched the video and milk came out my nose. This hold day I can't stop laughing. I can't believe bush got this. It gives a bad image.

People can now throw shoes at bush. Maybe if anyone is upset with bush just take off your shoes and throw it at him when he leaves office. Your excuse would be that your are like him so much you want him to have your shoes.

I'm not going to lie, that guy had IMPECCABLY good aim. He was across the room and BOTH shoes came within feet of Bush's face. He must have been practicing.

Too bad it did not hit him hard in the middle of his ugly face.
He has caused so much damage around the world.

A hilarious bit of duck and dodge by the old man. He must have played Dodge Ball as a kid and learned his 5 Ds: Duck, Dip, Dive, Dodge, Duck.
I can appreciate his attitude after. He didnt take personal offense, probably because he is used to ridicule and hateful gestures by now.
The SS should have been a bit quicker. Bush's Iraqi counterpart was faster on the block with the second shoe than the SS guys.

My first reaction was I wished our President's body guards had put a bullet between the man's eyes. But restraint, unfortuneately, was probably the best avenue.

Yeah, throwing shoes is so much worse than fighting a war of greed and killing over a half million people in the process. It's understandable how you would see this man as the evil person in the room.

I totally agree with you. I really feel for those people, their country is destroyed.

Should we condone such uncivilized behavior?

If I was a incompetent greedy SOB like Bush, I'd deserve the same treatment!

BTW- His reflexes are about on par with mine- which is saying something. People at the animal shelter used to call me 'the blur' because I was so freaking fast- both running and avoiding accidents and being bit. I can honestly say, if this wasn't staged, his reaction time is not normal for someone his age. My reaction time is faster than most 18 year olds, and I am 38. I KNOW my reaction speed is abnormal.

That means- I dunno. I always did say, tho the real one's in the Hall of Presidents at Disney, and what's running around is an android duplicate.

I think Dubyah deserves far more than a shoe thrown at him. At least a grenade.

Let's hope the man isn't labelled "terrorist".
The journalist, that is.

oh dear.. what terribly uncivilised behaviour...

the boundaries to my reality are being mildly agitated by this man performing such a socially beculiar act.. i just can't comprehend how socially wrong this is, i am simply lost for words.. my goodness, what ever was going through this mans head to make him perform such an outrightly OUTRAGEOUS act... i am simply offended by such ROBUST pomposity.

However will the rape of Iraq maintain such a high level of social decency with this kind of behaviour!!!???

Whatever one may say of Bush and his policies, throwing a shoe at a dignitary and that too the president of a country in front of the whole world....

We really have no idea what this journalist has seen. Perhaps he has seen some infants, victims to white phosphorus, an illegal chemical warfare weapon used by the US army. It basically burns your skin without flames, turns you into a shrinkwrapped human barbeque, by all accounts an extremely painful way to die. Or maybe he's seen the amputees. Or some of the overloaded understaffed and under funded hospitals which were chock full of bleeding dying people during the Yee-Haw bombing raids of the city.

We really have no idea, but I can imagine anyone who has witnessed only a fraction of the reality of what's gone on in Iraq could care less about etiquette for Bush.

Those shoes could have easily been a hand gun, or a suicide vest.....we can only wish I guess.

was a good wasted opportunity thou.

each to their own, if throwing shoes made him happy then so be it.

All I can say - is it the the best news conference I have ever seen Bush give. That vid is great - I would like to find vid of him with the troops too - to see how well he was received by them over there.
Watching that vid, just got my morning going right with a smile on my face.
