OP, i think you may need a mirror...

point the finger? cast the stone...

while im with ya, why take the "you and not me" approach?

unwise my friend, unwise....

Mirrors... each and everything you put upon another will be put upon thyself.

Im curious as to how you will pull out of the "you, you, you' routine.

Well worth rememboring.

Irrational ancient superstition is holding man back and doing nothing but dividing us. We don't need an invisible man in the sky threatening us with eternal damnation to be good people.
Throwing off all the irrational beliefs of religions doesn't even mean that you can't believe that a higher consciousness created us, it just means that you don't believe in an irrational, hypocritical fairytale from 2,000 years ago.

Religious people think that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do, and if you're bad he will send you to hell to burn and suffer and scream and cry... but he loves you!

They follow a book that tells them that if their wife isn't a virgin on their wedding night that they should stone her to death. If your neighbor worships another god you should stone him to death. If you don't stone them to death, someone else who isn't a sinner like you should stone them AND you to death.
This same book that tells you that you should stone people to death, also tells you that murder is a sin...
This same book also says that it's ok to beat your slaves as long as you don't beat them so badly that you put their eyes or teeth out.

I know some people love to 'pick and choose' which parts of the bible they will and will not follow but that makes them hypocrites, there's nowhere in the new testament where it says you no longer have to follow the barbaric beliefs of the old testament.

It's an irrational belief system based on a 2,000 year old fairytale, that mankind would be well-served to get rid of.

Breaking the last great taboo: how irrational religious belief is hurting mankind as a whole

OP, rhetorical question.

How can I take the Bible as the "infalible word of God" when mankind has selectively edited what went in and what didnt' and has consistanty made new (i.e., different) translations as time went on?

I wanted to add without editing -

look within. There is where you will find your answers...

Its 'them'? (them means outside ourselves btw)

does that mean 'everyone BUT you'?? every single person around except you? i find that a highly interesting (but extremely dangerous spiritually) way of thinking of how the spiritual world works.

please take a moment to realize what you are saying (and therefor what you are setting yourself up for - karmicly).

I trully do feel for you if thats the route you choose to take.

That depends what you mean by god.
Are you referring to the "biblical" god?

I can see this thread is going to quickly spiral out of control into a mudslinging match between believers and non-believers... and it really isn't necessary. What is necessary is to being able to see that the OPs attitude is uncouth, and highly unnecessary. To continue to feed into this nonsense is the real issue... not whether or not you believe in god and to what extent. Just let this thread die.

That is all.

Can you provide physical, factual, and irrefutable evidence a "god" exists?

Dont forget now, there is a reason it is called faith.

I see. It was just over 20 months that I held the hate. ( I even made a virtual voodo doll and wished bad things (karma).

I now feel that was not good as well because it reflected the hate and most likely compounded it's posession.

I guess what it boils down to is that I was truly a victim when I inflicted that feeling upon myself, and it never healed over time, just got worse.

Now, I believe that I will never be a victim again, because I will never again believe I am a victim.

The only consolation is that I have learned what it is to be free. It just took almost two years a bitterness and skepticism to break free.

Oh, imagine the taboo if I were to say it!!!

I should! No, I shouldn't.

Nah, I'm going to anyhow. Satan/Jesus/Enki is the only God that is on your side. And there are many gods. Most of them wish you to be just that, an obedient slave, but these "gods" (God) all teach the same thing, no to the status-quo.
Mankind is not to be bounded to a slave-based governmental existance.

The evil of the bible? Where is it? It is firmly rooted within every government on this planet.

The god of the bible.
A higher being, not the god of the bible.
Are there other choices for "god"? lol

Ok, hold on let me go read Enoch....
Oh, yeah, it was clear.

Chapter 2 - God Arm Wrestles Satan in Over The Top 2.

Thanks for the clear answer.

I'll break it down.
If you're talking about the biblical god there are two possible answers.
1. Whoever the author of the fictional story decides he wants to win.
2. Nobody because neither character exists in real life.

If you're just talking about a higher being, not the biblical god, than that god would win, because he would be arm wrestling a non existent character.

Well I am proud of you ...dont let anyone or anything take you down like that again ..
As you said life is way to short as it is ..why should we waste it on energy like hate which takes up so much of our time..energy etc ..that years just pass by like a train swishing past you at full speed ..

WAY TO GO >..

It is easy to hate ...it is a challenge to LOVE ....
It is easy to give up on life ..it is a challenge to face it head on and do your very best (on whatever your doing) while you are living it .........

Hope if you don't mind if I take a stab
I don't ask you to believe. Those who will, will. Just what I "see."

Originally posted by dantrav My questions, some of which have several parts.

1. What are scientific lies? Give me examples please.

Actually, it was someone on here and a good friend who pointed this out to me. It isn't that science lies. Deception ALWAYS draws on the truth. It is the lack of conscience that is in science.
I personally would add to this. It is what they seek. They seek knowlege for its sake and that is as far as it goes. They may seek to find something behind the knowledge, but they don't do it for the sake of the One behind the knowledge, they do it for their own glory. (this is speaking of science as a whole. I can not speak for every individual in the science field. I personally enjoy science, but it is because I see the amazing brilliance of the One behind it and that is who I seek for His sake.. to touch His heart is my greatest desire and yet, I know that I don't deserve it other than I am His creation and He wants it as well).

2. Purely making assumptions as to the scientific lies, how can you prove that scientific information that is proven can constitute a lie?

I didn't watch what the OP posted, but there is MUCH truth in science. The only lie is the deception that it is a great thing in and of itself and that it seeks to explain mankind when mankind's identity is in its Creator and it takes the heart to seek Him. Science in and of itself is not bad, it is what it leaves out.

3. Why would God give humanity the ability to form logical conclusions as to their origins and anything else, yet condemn them for doing so?

He doesn't condemn them for this. Man condemns himself for his arrogance.

4. Why do all people not believe the same thing?

Because all people do not seek the same thing.

5. Could the original message of the bible completely differ from what you believe, given the fact it is written by men and then translated over and over again?

It could be. Depends on what you want to see.

6. Why was the pope the richest person in the world up to recent times?

I know little about the pope's personal wages. *shrugs*

7. Why does church take collections above what is necessary to keep the institution running?
Most churches these days are corporations. Enough said?

8. What of the astrological references as well as the religions prior with similar stories and deities?

All things are made by G-d and thus this should serve as a clue that there would be reasons there are so many similarities.

9. Is it possible that a higher power or God has emulated itself over many religions and viewpoints to get a greater message of peace across to everyone, thus making everyone right?

Yes, but there are some whose hearts ARE for ego. Not all who are lost will be cast aside. Just because one doesn't understand it all, does not mean their heart is in the wrong place and don't believe anyone who would say differently. The true G-d is a great G-d who is the balance of Justice and Mercy. He knows those who are lost as compared to those who are out for their own lusts. There is a difference and it this is in the Bible. Read it for yourself rather than taking mine or anyone else's word for it. If you want to see, you will see.

10. Are we as a species not capable peace? Are we not capable of doing right without the message of God? Would it be possible that God had created us with the intention of us moving on without him?

There is no peace without understanding and Truth, so it remains to be seen. There are those who are capable of peace, but as a species? Well, that is the point of the seperation.
Well, the message of G-d is written on our hearts so yes. In fact, in the Bible it says quite often that when the people cried out to G-d, G-d remembered them. Personally, though this is purely my thought thus far, I don't think we were inteded to be so much work, thus the beauty of G-d's longsuffering. To draw out those who recognize the heart of G-d that is in us.
No, to the last of these questions. He did desire fellowship with His Creation. If His intent had to be in moving on without Him, He would have done away with us a long time ago; though it seems obvious His intent was not to babysit us.

11. Why would God allow the world to fall into turmoil constantly?

Because, it *became* necessary to teach us when the eyes were opened.

12. How do you know that you belief is "the way it is?" Is it just faith, or have you seen something that others have simply missed?

I know better than to explain this. It is what it is.

I think we're all avoiding the questions until god answers.
So we know which way to go with it.
