Intelligence agencies have launched a massive manhunt for a Mumbai based businessman - [...] - who allegedly arranged arms and explosives for the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists to conduct the terror attack in Mumbai. [...] The businessman reportedly runs several custom clearing houses in Colaba, Mumbai
They were reportedly trained in marine commando techniques on Mangla Dam, a reservoir stretching between the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) to Punjab in Pakistan.
investigators were going through the call data details downloaded from the satellite phone recovered from the abandoned trawler. It revealed numbers that have been traced back to Muzammil, LeT's chief of operations.
MUMBAI: The police on Thursday arrested software engineer Muzammil Shaikh and his brother, Faisal, and claimed that the latter was the "western India Lashkare-Taiba commander".
The police had then claimed that he was a businessman operating from Mumbai. TOI learnt on Thursday that the 30-year-old Faisal, a resident of Mira Road, had an "export-import" business.
Both Faisal and the now Bangalore-based software engineer Muzammil will be produced in court on Friday.
Yesterday, Kasab chillingly went through details of Wednesday night’s killing spree across the city, which ended when he was cornered by police.
He pretended to be dead, which probably saved his life. It was only when he was being transferred to hospital by ambulance that his accompanying officer noticed he was still breathing.

Either that or the captured terrorist is trying to protect those that got away.

Well if the captured terrorists told indian authorities they were trained by ISI agents and they belong to LET than why would they wana protect their fellas who ditched them in hotels and did a runner?
Its kinda funny how these terrorists were prepared to die but they didn't give a crap about telling the indian authorities about their 'real identity'

Why is it funny?
Dont they have the same attitude that you do?
In other words, they think that Pakistan can annihilate India, so they dont care about what they reveal. They WANT Indians to know who inflicted last week's pain.

Well, having seen the events and the circumstances so far it seems most people have thought something very fishy was going on in Mumbai.
I've been looking around for reasonable explanation that addresses all the strange peculiarities and nonsense that people have noticed.
I came across the following article that puts all the pieces of this jigsaw together.
This seems to be a more than reasonable explanation for the recent events in Mumbai.
Unfortunate for some, this clearly indicates problems within India such as Hindu nationalist parties and a outcome of an investigation Hemant Karkare had reached (who was strangely killed in Mumbai during the event).
He found that Hindu terrorists had actually carried out previous terrorist attacks.
The conclusions are not good for India at all. Have a read.

I didnt even know that there is such a thing known as a remailer. One thing i dont understand is how come only 1 person was captured alive. Did his friends all abandon him?? Why did he play dead when he supposed to fight to the end? Dont he know that he will be interrogated if he is captured? So why play dead?

3 possibilities here
1) 'soft' coups by Hindu Nationalists that may turn into a 'hard' coup
2) War with Pakistan
3) Another terrorist attack leading to the (probable) crippling of the govt
Anyone gonna make a wager on what will happen?

MUMBAI, India — A Muslim graveyard has refused to bury nine gunmen who terrorized Mumbai over three days last week, leaving at least 172 people dead and wreaking havoc at some of its most famous landmarks.
The men are not true followers of the Islamic faith, according to the influential Muslim Jama Masjid Trust, which runs the 7.5-acre Badakabrastan graveyard in downtown Mumbai.
"People who committed this heinous crime cannot be called Muslim," said Hanif Nalkhande, a trustee. "Islam does not permit this sort of barbaric crime."

Everyone please take note of Gooberiffic's post!
I thought it was a fair, balanced and thoughtful response.
He criticised the Indian authorities where criticism was due and analysed the situation's causes and context masterfully.
Goober has set the standard. Lets all follow it.
Regardless of our affiliations and beliefs, I think most of us are capable of reasoned judgement and debate. There has been nationalistic rhetoric from both sides. We would do well to check the rhetoric and analyse the situation with a cool head.
That said, some posters have been ridiculous in their stances and beliefs. There is room for debate, but none for propaganda and lies.
Henceforth I will only debate with those posters who offer considered insights or constructive criticism (eg saying that the police need to be better armed, instead of calling the entire Indian police force "cowards").
I urge you all to do the same
