Can you believe some of these people being interviewed? The ones that got out, that is. First, I heard a news report on Sky about how people had emerged earlier, dragging their suitcases behind them, and just now on CNN there's a man saying he heard someone shout bomb so he ran back into his room and grabbed his bag before making his way to each bit of the hotel, until finally making it out.

I'm glad these people got out alive but really, suitcases and bags? I'd have left them where they were. Surely the people that were brought out would've been told to leave their suitcases behind?

I mean c'mon do you really think that a few piss ant terrorists could last this long against 100s of commando's.. There is something fishy about this hole thing. I dont buy one bit of it.. Theres some sort of set up here.

Pakistan has offered to send its ISI Chief to india for a grilling.I don't know what more india wants after this.

Looking at the pictures of one of those terrorists,he looked more like an indian than anything else. They are more likely to be internal terrorists.

It certainly did cross my mind which is why I was so concerned to hear him state 1000's and even repeated it when the reporter stopped him, mid sentence, and asked him to confirm. There haven't been reports of 1000's being brought out or of 1000's dying but could he have got it so wrong? I know he was very scared and who knows what else was going through his mind but he seemed to speak quite calmly and logically.

This interview is on a BBC news channel yet I haven't heard them ask anyone about the 1000 people reported to be in the salon. This could end up being an awful 'development' later on. I hope it was a simply error caused by his anxiety and that there were only a few people around him.

theres more than 400+ rooms in the hotel, with still some suspected 15-20 guests holed up inside the hotel, they have to search each and every corner of the ALL the rooms ,double check, check the dead bodies, all to ensure that the guests still inside are not harmed and there arent any booby traps left in any of the rooms, thats a tedious job,if the commandos get hasty,it could result in a bloodbath

Yeh and its also kinda funny the terrorists they capture alive come out to be pakistanis or 'british born pakistanis'.

I know exactly what your saying, this act is a fraud, a farce.. where was the security? where was the metal detectors? This is suposed to be the best hotel in india! I went to egypt a year ago, the hotel had four stars, and there was still at least six gaurds with sub machene guns at the doors at all times, not to mention the bomb detectors..

I did some research on the ballroom and apparently the ballroom can fit that many people, 1000+. But since it's on the first floor I think (assume) we would have heard about by now.

The Grand Ballroom The 5000 sq ft pillar less Grand Ballroom, located on the ground floor, accommodates 550 guests in theatre style seating.
The Grand Ball Room can be divided into three separate sections by automatic partitions.
These are The Ballroom-I, The Ballroom-II, and The Ballroom Annexe that can accommodate 1150, 250 and 55 guests respectively in theatre style seating.

I have never seen metal detectors screening people enterting a hotel. Not in the U.S., Europe, even Iran.

Maybe Egypt has ultra tight security but the rest of the world surely doesn't. Sheesh in Iran they barely used metal detectors for people boarding planes.

But he specifically spoke of there being 1000 people with him in the salon room. They'd been led there from the restaurant, through a basement and up into the salon and then were locked in. Since then, no-one seems to have reported or, spoken of, anyone being brough out of the salon and definitely no mention of 1000 people being brought out.

Well realistically bomb detectors and such would be mostly for show. Unless they could continually secure the entire perimeter of the hotel there would be no way to prevent weapons or explosives from getting inside the building.

Though I do like the custom of having police/military guards displaying semi-automatic weapons. I wish they did that more in the U.S...they did that a bit at airports right after 9/11 but then it stopped. Armed men in uniform with assault rifles make for nice eye candy.

the most prominent terrorist outfit in bangladesh is the Harkat-ul-Jihad-al Islami group which is connected to the ISI in pakistan, their primary objective is waging war in bangladesh ,killing intellectuals and destabalize india for the sole reason that, they want to establish islamic rule in bangladesh, and since india is the preferred choice of bangladeshi immigrants,it has become a soft target, they were also suspected to be behind the 2006 varanasi blasts, but it remains to be confirmed whether the terrorists in the current attacks on mumbai belong to the same radical group or something different

1000?now thats a figure i havent heard, even though i have been glued to the tube all day long,,in any case almost all the guests have been evacuated by the army, right now, only 15-20 people are suspected to be inside the building

edit:am guessing you refer to this?

well, you can safely assume that it was probably an exaggeration
,even if it wasnt, nearly all of them have been safely evacuated
