Believe me, these guys have a plan to make it out alive. If they didn't, they wouldn't have made it as far as they have. You don't plan for a full-scale battle just to end it with your own life. You plan to make it out. They will have a plan to get away.

If they really are radical islamists,they will fight till death because they don't give two [snip] about death.I think their final move will be to blow the whole hotel top to bottom or other way round.

If they are highly trained agents,they will no doubt escape,either with the help of indian bribed intel or disguise in a commando uniform.

Well that is probably pretty close to the truth. I was also envisioning prayer mats and a couple of spiritual banners on the walls...and did you know all hotel rooms in muslim countries have a sign pointing to Mecca?

Yeah, inside the door, instead of sign about checkout times and fire exits, they have a little pictograph showing the direction of Mecca. If rooms could be prepared to shelter them during the seige I would want to make the rooms were inspiring and comforting.

Um, I do seem to be better armed than the majority of the Indian army/police. They're running around with freakin Enfields. Considering my weaponry is far more advanced, with great optics how is this a question? I'm hoping they're CT guys at least have something.

If it is a large enough Hotel they could very easily disguise themselves and get out. That is probably the most logical thing to do, provided you have everyone confused enough to not have an idea where you actually are.

I wonder if the Hotel has laundry shoots. I could see myself trying to move indiscriminately between floors taking pop-shots and retreating. Do this enough and you can possibly create enough confusion to slip out behind everyone.

There aren't going to be any British or American special forces involved. You guys can sing their praises all you want but they have not been involved in anything similar. So enough about how they would magically fix things. The hotels are huge bloody mazes, there were hostages involved, the bad guys are well trained and equipped. They have to search and secure each floor as the terrorists retreat upward. There was a difficulty an distinguishing terrorist from civilian. So far the NSG has actually done well. The major danger at this point, as already mentioned in this thread, is the terrorists blow themselves up with all the RDX they have.

This is what I would be using... www.youtube.com... At least then it would be a somewhat level playing field.

But they DO have grenades and explosives. I doubt any vigilante types would stand a chance against these guys.

There is a key word here people 'mujaheddin' = Holy Warriors! they are fighting for there religion and have no issues in dying for there faith. They want to die and get there 70 something virgin sheep!

Plan and simple they will die and they will take along as many people as they can get. Possibly killing all there hostages along with them or something larger and scarier!

Do you honestly think these guys are going to pretend to be civilians and scurry out? They are part of something "big", they have a mission. They are not planning to try to save their own lives, they are doing this to glorify and promote a higher purpose.

I've been watching the live feed on CNN IBN for nearly 2 1/2 hours now and there has been no new footage, they keep repeating the same footage. Why no live footage?

The reports are still all over the place, they're saying the Taj is cleared yet a grenade was lobbed at a fireman.

You are not thinking like a religious fanatic that has a calling. Some may fail under extreme pressure, but I do believe these guys went into this knowing they would probably not walk out of it. This is a huge thing. They are making history here, they hope they are changing politics/history. Plus Islam favors those who die in battle.

Anyway, its been a long day, Im gonna head off for a bit... I dont want to get too sucked into the coverage.

I think there will be a lull in any real news now; so I will take the chance to chill out for a bit. By midnight GMT we should be able to see the dust settling and the carnage will be laid in full sight.

Then comes the process of analysis, investigation and conclusion.

This has been a most harrowing day for not only Indians, but for all free nations. I hope tomorrow brings better news...

I think it has already been established that the people suspected in this thing are a part of a jihadist group that is "non-suicidal".

I woudnt bet on the sas being there yet. the royal marines are more than capable of dealing with this sort of thing, after all they are elite soilders aswell, i think the sas would be a last resort. the marines along side medical help from the navy would be the first of the british forces on scene
