The question is now, after the Prime Minister's statement, will India proceed with potential military action against Pakistan. Manmohan Singh (Indian Prime Minister) is pretty adamant with the words;

India would not tolerate "neighbours" who provide a haven to militants targeting it.

No! There's no chance for any military action against Pakistan for now. Such an offensive would require a military build-up period of at least one to two months which includes moving strike formations to their concentration areas, beefing up defenses of holding formations and establishing and stocking forward logistic nodes for an offensive.

All this cannot be done overnight.

Read t0ken's post above.

How do you negotiate with something like that?

I'm not saying that I want full out nuclear warfare, but it may be the only choice if the ISI cannot be disbanded. Because ISI controls the major Generals of the army, and thus the nuclear stockpile, if India has to neutralise them it has to hit hard and fast and just pray that all the nukes can be neutralised. If even one is left over the loss of human life would be incalculably horrific.

like i said, if it is misinterpreted it please correct me, but obviously i didn't or you would have said it.

there is no justification for a nuclear strike. not even if you are the recipient of the first strike.

you might as well cash the last check for humanity...

jesus, some people need to really look at themselves in the mirror, and get a grip.

Hostages being released from the Oberoi one by one and being escorted out. Estimated that there are around 40 hostages still inside.

So be it.

You may well have your morbid wish soon.

Trust me, you will regret ever wishing for nuclear war. Regardless of how much you hate India, to actively wish for nuclear warfare is mad.

I will never understand people like you for as long as I live.

I am a Pakistani Muslim and a stand with Pakistan.I really cant wait for Pakistan to pull out its nukes and teach the hindus a lesson.

Pakistan Zindabad! Hindustan Murdabad!

Amazing!
Condemned by your own words.
If you are representative of the majority of Pakistani Muslims, and I sincerely hope you are not but fear you maybe, then is it any wonder that you and your countrymen are facing increased hostility throughout the world.

soulslayer has as usual attempted to provide the voice of reason and appears to be fully aware of the possible implications if outright war occurs.
This could escalate globally.

Oh, and as for the poster who is blaming the UK?? Get real, that is a total abdication of responsibility.
The responsibility for this situation lies solely with religious and political extremists within the sub-continent.
It is so sad and predictable that someone would blame the UK / USA etc, in fact anyone other than themselves.
Pathetic!

I did man.

Do you honestly believe one nuke will take out there entire stockpile?

do you honestly believe it will be the last?

that can of worms needs to stay shut partner.

one bomb would affect the entire world for forever.

even if it took out every terrorist in pakistan.

revenge will be sought for generations upon gernerations more than it already has been. that is a guarantee...

reading token and soulslayer, it does really remind me of western people during the next few weeks of 911 :

no #ing proofs but overwhelming media propaganda generating a universal
"wipe them all out"
reaction

and so they went first thing to bomb afghani villages.

mass mind manipulation has beautiful days ahead, when even members of a supposed "above top secret" forum fall so easily into will of wars... probably fitting a disgusting agenda that will lead us to extreme chaos

can't you just stop standing behind a nation image so blindly and become just human again ?

You said the exact thing as t0ken but in a different context.

It seems some people have no idea about the value of life.

Furthermore, most Pakistani Muslims I have met are some of the most honourable and disciplined people I have ever met.

Not sure about the new 'young' generation though...

Conflicting reports:

BBC are reporting the terrorist are offering negotiations, but NDTV are reporting no demands are being issued.

Terrorist and Indian security forces are engaged in a gunman battle on the 8th floor of Trident.

According to your religion (Quran) t0ken you are NOT allowed to touch or harm even a hair of an innocent person otherwise you will be condemned to hell forever.

How does that sit with your putrid nonsense!?

We should all endeavour to further ourselves through 'love' not through 'harm'.

I don't beleive you are Muslim because you don't know what you are talking about. Perhaps you're a somebody that just wants to give Pakistani Muslims a bad name!

In fact, I'm sure t0ken is MASQUERADING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to Quran a Muslim should defend himself against invading forces.Any move by India and its millitary will hopefully be dealt with by nukes to get rid of this problem.

This is a perfect example of the depth of the hatred Pakistani Muslims feel towards Hindu's.

I have a friend who is of Pakistani Muslim origin who is perfectly reasonable, quite westernised and pretty liberal in outlook and lifestyle, but any mention of India and Indian Hindu's / Sikh's and there is a tranformation that see's her turn into a bigotted fanatic who beleives that India should be wiped off the face of the earth.

That is the inbred depth of hatred that is fuelling this and other atrocities.

The repercussions, for all of us, could be unimaginable .

Sky News is also reporting that the terrorists want to negotiate the release of hostages. No word on what their demands are yet.

Edit to add. It's the terrorists holding the Jewish people that wants to negotiate.

Yeah I said this feels like India's 9/11.

Don't get me wrong, Im all for negotiations and peace.

It all depends on whether or not Pakistan rallies behind the ISI or PM Gilani. Gilani is an honourable man who I believe genuinely wants peace. If he cannot bring the ISI and its supporters (ie people like t0ken) under control, India and Indians have no option but to wage war.

I dont want war, but suffering attacks like this one again and again is not really a viable solution is it?
