Is anyone surprised by this? The republicans are so desperate they are trying anything and everything to discredit Obama. The GOP is sinking and they are trying to drag the whole country down with them, it is truly pathetic and disgusting.

And the demoncrats are scared that every one will see through this man who is setting himself up to be another Hitler!
In another thread, there were some that had heard the original broadcast. Creative editing? Can be done by both sides bub!

Horse Hocky, Obama has made more than one speech on this issue and they speak for themselves. The Obamaites can try to spin this any way they choose but the FACT remains, this man is a Soviet Style Socialist. Spreading the wealth means taking from someone who has excelled in a field and giving the fruits of that labor to those who do nothing to deserve it!

After listening to this interview with Sen.Obama,it seems that impertant parts were dropped from the full length interview to compact the meat of the interview.The splicing did not allow Sen.Obama's words to be taken out of context.

There seems to be alot of obama audio in there.

So, for the last 19 months, this guy has gotten a pass from most of the major news media. But when an audio clip that is indeed in context is played, the left has a cow?

You know, if you roll in the feces, you're going to stink. And this is exactly what this shows. How sick and tired I am of hearing how just because he sat in Wright's church doesn't mean he thinks that way. And just because he purposely gathered friends who had Marxist ideals doesn't make him a Marxist?

He may not be a true Marxist, but his thinking leans heavily in that direction. And I will never accept that you sit in a church where hate is spewed forth and not have that affect you to some degree.

My gut feeling is that he will win. I don't want him to, and neither am I for McCain. The right could have done sooooo much better. I despise both candidates.

Oh, and tax cuts for 95% of working Americans....right. Can't even call it what it is...tax credits. And when the tax cuts Bush enacted expire in 2010 he can sit back and tell the American public that he didn't raise taxes, they just expired. So, guess what, your taxes are going to go up. The guy is so full of crap.

I'm afraid our country is going to take a grave turn for the worse. I'd like to think that in 4 years, I could write how wrong I was, but I seriously doubt that I will be able to.

Wow, people certainly have taken a single comment and rolled with it eh? A comment about the wealth.. which was in a nutshell saying those who can afford the taxes can pay them, those who can't will get a cut, and suddenly Obama is a Marxist socialist commie.

While I don't mind stating the truth, and the way a cantidate leans one way or the other, I wish we could go without the extremist and vastly overexaggerating views.

As a Republican I am feeling much better about the election. I know for a 100 percent fact McCain is going to win. Come back to this post Nov 5th and tell me how wrong I was. I have seen the future brother.

So wherein was it creative editing when he referred to the United States Constitution, and explicitly our Founding Fathers, as a "Constraint", which prevented and does prevent "Radical Policies"? Or how about when Senator Obama directly labeled our United States Constitution a "Charter of Negative Liberties"? Those were the words as spoken from his Mouth, with no expansion of Context thus being necessary to interpret his contempt for our Founding Document.

Listen folks, I have the upmost respect for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. When all is said and done, WE ARE ALL AMERICANS. What is it however that you cannot understand about Senator Obama's contempt for American ideologies? He is a student and follower of European ideologies, and the more evidence which presents itself, the more evident such an aspect becomes.

Everyone on ATS is ALWAYS complaining about how President Bush did this, or did that, to OUR Constitution. I always hear Members call President Bush a straight "Tyrant", or label him an oppressor upon our God Given Constitutional Liberties. YET, when we actually have a Presidential Candidate speaking about OUR Constitution, OUR American Ideologies, OUR system of Capitalism, in CONTEMPT, you find a way to excuse it.

Too many Citizens are simply so desperate to anoint the Candidate farthest left and opposite of President Bush, that they fail to grasp the realities of what a Leftist is, and how Left-Wing does NOT = Democrat, and it thus does NOT = America. America is a Nation of Moderation, NOT extremes. Thus by supporting such an Extreme as a Complete Leftist, you are in fact Casting a Vote for Europe, NOT America.

Wake-up, because this is absolutely NOT about Democrats or Republicans, it is about American Capitalism vs. European Socialism. We fought 232 Years Ago against an overbearing governance, do not revert us back to those very philosophies which we have forever shunned since that time.

Taking from someone who excelled in their field? if by that you mean the 5%+ in this country who can clearly afford it. The American economy has been brought to its knees by Wall street and the greedy financial institutes that were lending more than they could afford against their assets and now all the hard working people in this country are going to suffer because of it due to the greed of a few.

The current financial problems America is facing is also due to the de-regulation that was done mainly by the republicans in office and the blank cheque Bush has had to do what he pleases on a global scale and now a candidate comes a long with a clear solution to fix the economy from the bottom up rather than the top down (Which IMHO is the only way to ensure country wide prosperity) and you complain? Oh how I feel sorry for those wealthy bankers and corporate slaves that "excelled" in their fields by destroying the American economy. I don't see how Obama is this commie socialist "Hitler" - (lol someone compared him to one of the most far right leaning people of all time) everyone is making him out to be, these people are just sensationalising his views and should bring forth some hard evidence.

I support Obama because in all fairness, I will take a Harvard educated law professor and senator any day when compared to a a guy who has an explosive temperament and a lack of knowledge for 21st century technology i.e. a personal computer. The main reason why I support Obama also is the sheer fact that 1% of the population control 40% of the wealth, and that's not right. I am hard working and qualified and yet life is increasingly harder for me due to the economical mistakes made by the republicans in the past, therefore I don't mind a bit of wealth spreading and by that, I mean I have no problem helping the ENTIRE nation to be more prosperous with my tax dollar. I rather the money go there than to fighting illegal wars abroad and jeopardising the future national security of the nation.

All this nonsense about Obama being a marxist demonstrates the nose-picking ignorance of people who hate him. In a Marxist society the government owns everything. The factories, the stores, the media...there is really no such thing as private property. Moreover, only people who are members of the communist party can vote, and this is an elite you have to be invited to join. Please show me, specifically, what policies Obama advocates that are anywhere near this. Somehow I guess I missed the speech where Obama said he was going to eliminate the right to vote for 90 percent of the country and nationalize all private property.

Saying Obama is a Marxist is like saying McCain is a fascist: stupid people can do it if it makes them feel better, but it's ludicrous and way, way out of touch with reality.

BTW, the biggest "redistribution of wealth" in the last 30 years has come from the Reagan and Bush tax cuts. In 1981, the wealthiest people in this country paid 70 percent of their taxable income in federal taxes (this, of course, was after taking advantage of all the loopholes that already existed for the rich). Now, with even more loopholes in the tax code, they pay 35 percent. By contrast, the poorest people paid a 12 percent rate in 1982 and pay a 10 percent rate now. Talk about redistribution of wealth!!

Then someone comes along who wants to reverse that a little bit and knuckleheads call him a commie (who obviously are clueless about what communism actually is) and accuse him of class warfare...and yet these very people would likely benefit from his tax strategy.

Although I still don't believe half of the crap that is being spewed about Obama, I must admit that the 'spreading the wealth' scheme is a bad one. It is probably the biggest issue that will indeed destroy this mans election or presidency if he is elected. Not a good idea to try that.

Although, I also agree that the 'wealthy' are the ones that have also caused much of what has been going on in the world economy lately. They have benefitted more from this crash than anyone. I'm not talking about the self made millionaires either. I'm speaking of the super wealthy.

The self made millionaires are the ones that would be hit hardest by this 'spread the wealthy' approach. This would essentially finish the destruction of the economy (just my opinion there). Why? Because it is the self made millionaires that employ a good bulk of the still employed people in this country. Their jobs are NEVER outsourced to other countries. They would be devastated by this approach.

Yes, and many GOPers continue to conveniently ignore that very shady past of this Bush regime. It's so easy to try and deflect things by focusing on half truths and lies. What Prescott did was a FACT. Does everyone who supports Bush truly believe that NONE of Prescott's belief structure (Nazi support) was passed down the bloodline? BS!

I have listened to this proclaimed admittal by Barack. The problem is, I have only heard responses and have YET to hear the full interview, uncut and unedited.

It's so easy to piece things together to make someone sound like they are saying things that they are not. I have seen enough done about Bush's and Cheney's statements (although I still believe they are both criminals and deserve to be prosecuted to the FULL extent of what is left of the law).
