yet one more reason to not vote for Obama or McCain, Ill be voting for real change in a third party , Chuck Baldwin... of the constition party, he will really change this country ...

When was the last time we had some one other than the Republicrats in office?

Think about it!

Ok, so it apparent that thousands of black voters are voting for Obama because he is half black. Of course they want to make history and thats mainly what its all about. Im sure that if he is indeed elected, there will be block parties in every city.
On the other hand, there are still thousands of old timer whites who are still racist enough to vote Mcsame because he is white.

To me, (yes, im white) i would rather see Obama in office because i believe that he would bring more to the table for our country and i dont care if he is purple, green or came from the Federation of glactic light.
My opinions are not based on race, gender........... unfortunately, he IS muslim and thats not too cool but nobodies perfect.

yes, he is...heck, if you were running for US President, you wouldnt admit it either, lol

Did you really expect him to NOT vote for obama?
Think about it.
I hope every one votes for a candidate for the exact same reasons.

I've always like Colin Powell and i have great respect for anyone who has served in our military. I think he's a good man. If he were actually running for president this election...i'd vote for him over the 2 current major candidates. He's a much better choice than Obama or McCain IMO. I think McCain made a huge mistake by not choosing him for VP...if Powell would have accepted of course.

I also say that him endorsing Obama carries no weight with my vote...nor does anyone else who endorses a candidate. We all have our opinions and are entitled to them just like Colin Powell.

I believe him (Powell), and I believe in the Illuminate! (or a least a corrupt central banking system that has bought and bullied its way into controlling everything)

I believe Powell was just doing his job and acting on what he was told (or fed). It would be like looking for a serial killer in a city. It doesn't matter where the killer came from or who put him there, the Mayor goes to the Police Chief and pitches to him how he wants to catch him and then the Chief pitches the strategy to the city council. (this is just an analogy and not a reflection of how police dept or city works)

I have respect for Powell because of the fact that he did do the right thing...the love for his country was the only reason why he went with it as far as he did and he had no choice ..but he did fight them every step of the way once it got underway as something that was going to happen no matter what Powell said or didnt say ....

He is (well was) the only one in Office that I could honestly say I respected .

It seems that Powell is the new hero for the democrats.

I wonder if Powell thinks that Obama is another "slam dunk" just as he thought about the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Powell hasn't been making very many good decisions in recent years and the trend continues.

But to be honest if Colin Powell endorsed McCain, I would still rag on Powell for that slam dunk comment.

And for those who think Powell is voting for Obama for his skin, I have to disagree.

Obama is a built up figure of the elite. I wouldn't be surprised if Bush endorsed Obama. All these guys are a part of the same club and will choose the person who will do the best job in suckering the people to follow the new order that we have all been hearing of lately.

Well I am a registered Republican and I would vote for Powell if he was running for President or even a VP for sure .....
I agree with all you said in the above quotes ..Doesnt matter who gets in we are still going in that direction no matter what .

I didn't respond to a question about, "Is there racism still left in the world?". I responded to one of the most ignorant posts I've ever read on ATS.

Being told that there is still racism in the world is not something that I need to be told. Following the presidential election campaigns is enough for anybody to get a grip on the fact that America has not solved many of its deepest and most persistent issues.

The fact that I'm acutely aware of racism is not the issue. It's members of ATS, like FlyersFan, who should know better but do not. That is the issue.

Yeah, Powell who WORKED FOR BUSH is only voting for Obama because of his race.

You are being sarcastic, but my response is - Definately.

Powell - who works for the republican administration and said that the republican party follows the way he feels America should be run - dumps all his beliefs in how America should be and runs to the black guy - who has values that are directly opposite of what Powell claims are his own.

The black guy - who wouldn't be able to get a security clearance if he was applying for a job at the FBI due to his connections with convicted fellons (Rezko) and international gun runners (Auchi) and weather underground terrorists (Ayers).

I'm sure someone will call me a bigot or racist for daring to say the obvious. I don't care. It's the truth.

Oh and lets not forget his experience as a community Agitator in Chicago. They call it "organizer" which is also true, just depends on what he is organizing. The Communist Guru Saul Alinsky and his Racist Bigoted Pastor, Rev Jeremiah "GD America" Wright and his frequent visits with Hamas. If the ruins anything, it is the Respect Colin Powel used to have until he showed us that Race means more than experience.

Unless of course it's a woman where in that case, any experience over Obama's doesn't count.

So before you go getting all indignant about Flyresfan's objective opinion, start opening your eyes to the racism Powel has just proven he is about.

Obama inspires him??? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Oh yeah that guy's Genius

Well, sad to say but Colin Powell just lost much of the respect I held for him. Not only is his support surprising, but so is his explanation behind such. He went so far as to say: "What if Obama is a Muslim, what difference would it make?", and "Obama is Transformational". Nothing against Islam, but yes it would obviously be a MAJOR problem, through both presenting a serious Conflict of Interest, and bringing forth questionable ties associated with his mentoring and terrorist organization endorsements. These are comments I expect from an ill-informed, naive individual, which is not what I ever considered Colin Powell.

BTW, I always believed that Colin Powell would have been a truly befitting candidate for the first Black American President. The reason being that he would have been the best candidate, period, regardless of race. He also lacks the extremist ties which Senator Obama has, and we know where Colin Powell stands (or stood) as far as being a Patriot. This is extremely disappointing.

Odd is it not, that the "Party" which might place the first supposedly "Black" President into the White House, is the same Party which promoted Slavery, Jim Crow, Segregation, and Racism from the very beginning? Colin Powell was in the appropriate "Party" for such an opportunity, but I will leave that for another debate.

Wait, are you saying Powell is endorsing him because he is black?

The way its looking is when you have all whites as candidates a Black will vote for someone white, but when you have a white man and a black man, whites will still vote for the black man but blacks won't vote for a white man if their is a Black alternative.

...of course Powell endorsed Obama. It's a racial issue, and it always has been a racial issue. How oddly funny how whites are racist when they support their race but blacks are not....What an odd racist double standard...

That is messed up on so many levels.
Colin Powell is a genius in my book, I seriously doubt that he is going to make a decision like that based on skin color.
So I guess the rest of the nation will vote McCain if they are white and Obama if black?
Who should the other races living in this country vote for? They are out of options huh?

Well seeing as mr. Powells politics have usually been right of center..

And Obama is very far left..

I would only assume it makes sense that Powell is voting for him because he is black.. *cough cough* I mean because he is a transformational person.. lol .. I suppose that could also mean a transition to polar opposite politics for Mr. Powell ..

But I would say the former above all else.

What do you expect Colon Powell is a traitor anyway. His state dept tried to overthrow presidential policy by leaking classified info to the press the whole time "the general" was there. It would apear "skin color" is more important than american values. There is no other reason for his endorsment....... Obama and Powel are both racist of the worst kind......

Of course he did. There was never any doubt that he would.
I'm sure Dr. Rice will also be voting for Obama - even if she
doesn't admit to it outloud.

Wouldn't the logical counterpoint for this be that you are only voting for McCain because he's white? Is President Bush supporting McCain because he's white?

Or are you suggesting that mindless flocking by race is limited to blacks while white people can make much more nuanced decisions?

Colin Powell's son endorses McCain.

Sorry no headlines, that's the MSM for you.

Has anyone considered that maybe Powell has endorsed Obama because he does not want another Republican Administration?? Maybe, just maybe.. he would vote for a WHITE democrat just the same?? Why does it have to come down to race? Its not a big secret that the Bush administration has screwed things up pretty bad. It couldn't be that though.. Its GOTTA be because their skin is the same color
::sigh::

I see. Exactly what brilliant sociological theory is this based on? Surely, since you're stating this as fact, you have some statistics or research to back it up, right?

I take it your coffee wasn't black. No matter, Obama will win this election and you'll have to live through your worst nightmare. Forced abortion, evil socialist healthcare, an all gay military, a president that uses diplomacy, a new wing on the WhiteBlackhouse for Hamas, a black in power, a ban on speaking in tongues. It's gonna be a hoot.

your post should be in the KKK thread, so...you must be in the PRO-AMERICA part of the U.S. ...right??? you know...the islamic taliban think just like you!!! must make you proud to be an american
