Hi Everyone,

Did anyone see the article regarding a division of Russian's special forces a while back when the football was on?

Those soldiers were hardcore, there was photos of them performing situps on broken glass and having knifes dropped on their stomachs!

I can't remeber the name of the unit, apparently they are a cross between the special forces and the police.

I'll try to find the article and post the link.

Firstly, Im sure theres a rule regarding one line posts.

Secondly, if you had the intelligence then you would realise that special forces were invented to help protect the national population in support of regular army units.

Thirdly, I don't know why you are addressing special forces of the world as "psychopaths" These are the men who are willing to risk their lives to save people like you.

On my fourth point, if you believe members of the special forces are psychopaths and you do not believe in elite training and weaponry then please explain to me why you are posting in a "Weaponary" forum ???

On my fifth point, I'd like to ask you why you even bothered to reply if all you can reply with is a negative, derogatory remark ?

"Mindless training of psychopaths" Well hopefully mate, one day these mindless psychopaths will save your life in a hostage situation and then maybe you will re-consider your words ....

Or even better they won't save your life, and will not save you, perhaps they'll butcher you like the maniacs you make them out to be with your one line post.

I suggest you reread your post and you think seriously about what you're saying there.

Here's a reality check for you: Soldiers are trained to kill at the order of their masters. That's it. Sure, they like to consider themselves freedom fighters, sure they like to think they're saving the world, sure they like to think they are better men than you. Sure. But this, imho, is because they have been trained so they are beyond the capacity to see they are part of the problem.

Me being butchered by the sources of your childhood fantasy will not change this reality one bit.

Thats an completely incorrect statement, just because these soldiers are trained to an elite level you believe they are part of the problem because they cannot make decisions for themselves? Thats absolutely ridiculous!!!

If you understood anything about the special forces or the army, they well may well be trained to kill, however they are trained to kill to saves lives.

Your telling me soldiers are part of the problem? Well whose going to save you and your family in a foreign invasion?

We're the soldiers of the SAS who saved every single hostage in the Iranian Embassy Seige part of the problem? We're they "freedom fighters" ?

Your misinformed my friend, soldiers are trained to kill to protect the country that they live in, to protect their assets, freedom and livelyhood.

Childhood fantasy ???? You really do not appreciate the lifes and honour of the men and women that serve and dedicate their careers to protecting people like yourself.

Just like to mention, I'd love you to voice your oppinions to any serving or ex member of any armed forces in the world, I'm sure they would not be happy with your response.

Here's another reality check for you: A lot of the so called bad guys are somebody else's special forces. This when they are not our own.

It's nice to think we live in a world of truth, honour, courage and knights in shining armour riding white hummers, but it just dosen't work like that. And the sooner you see it the sooner you'll be a positive influence in the world, instead of feeding this pathetic status quo by lusting over the military.

Sorry if I ofend you, it's not really my intention. But sometimes you have to stand for what you think is right without actually killing someone or blowing crap up.

I agree entirely that there are times when you need to stand up for what you think is right with resorting to violence. However, you seem to have this notion that armies run around killing people and blowing things up, you paint the picture that they are in fact "mindless psychopaths"

Armies & Special Forces were invented for PROTECTION... not to go around shooting anyone they care too & blowing up buildings.

What is your problem against the armed forces?

Would you be angry if a special forces member killed a terrorist who had in fact killed one of your parents while they attempted to hijack a plane?

I really don't understand your hatred of the men & women whose job is to protect people like you.

1) They are not protecting me. Don't you get it, the only thing they are protecting against is people exactly like themselves?

2) The Military is a herd mentality. Strength in numbers. But it's unethical, it's half a dozen smart people hurding thousands of dumb people. Sorry if this is harsh, but have you even been to a boot camp?

3) Everyone has a choice, everyone is an individual. If someone finds himself in the middle of a warzone with a gun in his hand, you can bet your life somewhere along the line it was because of a choice he made. People need to be made understand the consequences of their actions.

Or, in short: When you prepare for war you increase the probability of war. There are no good guys and bad guys, just missguided people.

1) Of course they are protecting you, they are the people responsible for protecting you and your family and your country! Maybe they are not protecting you currently, as you do not live in a war zone but its their job to protect you in the event of a crisis.

To say they are protecting against people exactly like themselves is also a ridiculous statement, what seperates soldiers vs terrorists is the soldiers want to protect, the terrorists want to destroy. Just because they both use similiar weapon or techniques does not make them like each other!

Soldiers from country A vs Soldiers from country B ; the soldiers from country A are protecting the people of his country from the soldiers of country B!!! He isn't protecting himself from soldier B.

2) The military is unethical, how do you come to that conclusion??? Maybe, we shouldnt have a military, whose going to protect us then when a foreign country tries to invade then??? To call a soldier dumb is another massively misinformed statement on your behalf, a typical UK infantry man probably has more skills in a greater variety of subjects than you do (First aid, Comms, Self Defence, Survival, Camping, ...... etc)
You do not need to apologise, I do not find what your saying harsh, I find it amazing that you actually believe what your saying is true. Herd mentality? Just because there is a chain of command does not mean the soldiers are behaving like sleep!! The commanders job is to command, the soldiers job is to obey orders.

3.) I understand you want people to understand the consequences of their own actions and accept responsibity, however some situations are entirely unavoidable! From your logic, are you saying that the people who were gassed in WW2, that it was their own fault???

When you prepare for war you increase the probability of war???? Thats also ridiculous, its funny because every countrys soldiers are preparing or training for war every day, but I don't see my country at war with anyone.

Of course there are good guys and bad guys, was britain and USA misguided to fight Germany back, in WW2 ?

Are you saying that you would rather have troops not prepare for war? Then how are they going to deal with it when it happens?

Why am I even debating with someone called Death Kron who has a skull for an avatar? I'll leave it at my previous post, and tbh I don't really see a valid rebuttal. And clearly you are a person who is part of this contemporary evil is cool culture, and there is really little debating with you guys untill you can see the consequences of your mindset.

So yeah, join the special forces, go to war, see death and destruction, come back, be thrown in a veterans hospital, or buried. COOL.

I'm sure in the back of your mind Kron there is some common sense just wanting to come out.

I wouldn't actually say you was debating as you have failed to address the majority of the points I have made and resorted to being insulting regarding a nickname & an avatar. That speaks volumes about yourself.

I don't understand how you can call special forces or in fact the armed forces part of "this contemporary evil" Hopefully, one day your life will in fact be saved by a member of the armed forces and maybe you then will realise that there are not the evil you proclaim then to be.

Oh and what does Zepherian mean?

Zepherian dosen't really mean much, it's just a uniqueish sort of handle, nickname. The etymology of it goes to Zephyr, which is a warm desert wind.

Shortly after coming up with it I found out that Zepherian is actually a real family name, so go figure.

well most SF guys although intense and riddles with PTS are not psychopathic. I have a buddy of mine, haven't talked to him much since he moved away from my apartment.

But he wasn't in any way crazy, in fact in got custody of his kids from his wife. I believe that when two sides are fighting during a divorce for full custody of their kids you have to take a mandatory psych exam. He obviously did pretty well because he has full custody and he is a deployed navy SEAL.

I've read about the Spetznas. They are a bunch of tough effing Russians, but believe it or not. I've seen tougher training in our military.

Your talking about the US special forces? Well, without being bias but in my oppinion the best special forces in the world are the British SAS, all other special forces were formed from their basis.

US Delta Force formed by Colonel Charles Beckwith was created after he served a tour with our SAS.

Beckwith served as an exchange officer with the British Special Air Service (22 SAS Regiment) in the early 1960s, and came away very impressed with the unit. US Army Special Forces in that period focused on unconventional warfare, but Beckwith was highly impressed with the SAS direct-action and counter-terrorism capabilities.
