We're not upset over civil discussion, its the lies and defamation that we don't like. Many come on this site spouting religious extremist belief, but often forget about "not bearing false witness". You claim our souls are damned, but I feel bad for those who think their lies about a group of law abiding men will go unpunished. Many of you are cut & paste Christians, that claim to be followers are Christ, but hold hate in your heart. Shame on you.

I did do a lot research before I even approached any Mason. Once I petitioned I still continued to research and now that I've been in a while, I'm find more and more things to study. Freemasonry is a fascinating art to study and its sad so many don't understand it, but feel they can judge it. You can say your not judging us, but you are so quit kidding yourself.

I have never sold my soul to the Devil. The Oaths I have taken were taken to God and God alone, as all Masons took their Oaths to that Deity in which they believe in. What was in our heart is known to us and no one can deny that or say otherwise.

Where are you getting these symbols? Like I said in the other thread, do you have a list of these celebrity Masons?

Well, to be frank, you are wrong. We are a Brotherhood and believe in bettering the community. If we were a secret society, you wouldn't know who the members were or where we met. Real life proves you wrong.

In the time I've been in, I've been a presiding officer over several different bodies and orders. I have been invited to invitational orders. I've sat with 33rds, SGIGs, KCCHs, KYCHs, and so on. None of them evil or devil worshipers. Specifically in the York Rite, the men are Christians and most of them devout ones at that and very involved in their church.

Again, Katy Perry cannot be a Mason as she is a female.

Except you are only here to express what you feel. You cannot know as you are not a member.

Psst... No, the 144,000 are the pure of heart, which will see God. There is plenty of room for everyone to enter Heaven!!

Onto the issue at hand though... As a Mason, I haven't seen any use of the "horns" in any Masonic event, but there is one place that I HAVE seen them... I see them at concerts all the time. All of the Metal concerts I go to have them flying around; so much so that it's practically become a staple symbol of a rock concert.

The contrary views that are being posited here are a result of a lack of understanding/experience in the area.

One thing that I can say from a Christian's perspective, is that nothing that I've done in there contradicts my belief in my God, nor does it take away from what it is to be a Christian. If anything, it bolsters my beliefs in a way that nothing else could.

Now I'm sure that some reading this will think I'm a liar trying to keep the secrets alive. There's nothing I can do to sway any of you from that opinion, other than to lead a life driven by the One and only Creator.

One final request; do not judge me as a person. Judge only my actions, as those are what will illustrate my true beliefs.

Gene Simmons says he invented that 'devil' handsign given at concerts.

I attend many metal concerts. I guarantee you all the horns thrown at shows are not because all the audience members are secretly communicating with each other in masonic terms. They are goat/devil horns, and are just synonymous with the world of metal music. No conspiracy there.

Oh no, maybe I'm so brainwashed by listening to my music that I am not even aware of the sordid masonic cabal I am participating in!?

No, I'm going to just stick with the Truth that we're all just metal lovers throwing horns in solidarity for a music we enjoy.

Ah! My bad!

As an Anglican, my experience dovetails with yours and were I to run up against some practise that was at odds with my faith, I wouldn't hesitate to drop Masonry and eat the decade I've invested.

And I have to think that there's something fundamentally good going on when men of at least five, widely diverse major religions (speaking of my Lodge) can work together and moralise on life's most central lessons and not get into a 'Dad likes me best' type of argument.

Gene Simmons says lots of things and will do whatever it takes to keep Gene Simmons as close to front-of-mind in the celebrity market.

Doesn't make it true. [/derail]

Ah! But that's what the head fans WANT you (and the rest of the world) to think. "Oh just a bunch of fun-lovin' headbangers. Nuthin' to see here."

Which verse is that?

Because, um... I am not finding it.

This is not an end of times thing... but something used very loosely. Has to do with the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem and as passage, about same. Not about end times.

However there is some concern and truth about the rest of it. Like young folks today getting chinese character tatoos as a fad....but it does show a lack of understanding about the influnce and the willingness to identify with it.

But closer to the point there is the large use of symbols mainly on older buildings in this country that mean nothing to the average person but do communicate with those that know.

I suppose there could be similar symbolism used in different subcultures. I noticed some of the photographs shown in the OP had the 'love' sign from sign language. Are those people actually supporting a masonic handsign as well? I doubt it

Gene is wrong, although I'm sure he'll try to patent it and make a buck off of it!

In reality, the sign was first used in rock music by deceased singer Ronnie James Dio (see my signature). Dio began as the bassist and singer for Ronnie Dio and the Red Caps in the late 1950's. In the early 60's, they changed their name to Ronnie Dio and the Prophets, then to the Electric Elves, and by the late 60's, they were simply known as Elf.

Elf disbanded in 1975, and became musicians for Ritchie Blackmore's (who had recently left Deep Purple) solo project. The new band featuring Blackmore would become known as Rainbow. Dio eventually left Rainbow in 1979, and replaced Ozzy Osbourne as the lead singer for Black Sabbath. After a few years with Sabbath, he left that band and formed his own solo project, aptly named Dio.

Anywho, Dio began using that hand sign in the 60's, when he was singer for Elf. Being Italian, he said that he remembered as a kid his grandmother using the sign all the time to ward off the evil eye. It's nothing but an old Italian superstition that Dio got in the habit of using, and which spawned many imitators. It has nothing to do with the devil.

Wow. He fronted two of the most popular rock bands of the 1970's (Rainbow and Black Sabbath), and is widely considered one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time.

Here is Dio performing live with Sabbath in 1980.

The Illuminati was founded as a quasi-political society in Bavaria in the 18th century. There was originally a cross-membership between Illuminati and many Bavarian Masons until the Illuminati began conferring the Masonic degrees, which made them a clandestine pseudo-Masonic rite.

The leader and founder of the Illuminati, Adam Weishaupt, was a Mason. Other famous Illuminati members who were Masons include Comte de St. Germaine, Wolfgang Johannes Goethe, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

According to conspiracy theorists, the "Illuminati" is a cabal of wealthy world-controllers who direct history for their own nefarious purposes and power.

Obviously, this idea is much different from the actual historical organization that called themselves "Illuminati". However, most conspiracy theorists confuse the two groups because they apply the same name to them.

I agree, the "malook", no? The old Italian hand sign to ward off evil spirits? At least that how it was in my neighborhood/family.

It is actually called the Mal Occhio, literally translating from Italian as the 'Evil Eye'. Hope this helps.

By the way, I just gave it to you.
