Except, as has been mentioned MANY times before in this forum, throwing the goat is in no way Masonic. It's not used as a handsign in any of the Masonic orders.

And more specifically, the picassa album you're linking to was created by Eric Dubay who has even LESS credibility here. He was banned from posting on ATS for his spamming and lies three months ago...

For reference,

and many more.

the bible mentions that end times destruction will come from a language they world in general will not understand. That language is metaphore. art, symbology, codes. The language and its letters are on our signs, buildings, houses, products.

Which verse is that?

Because, um... I am not finding it.

Yes, Josh is a Mason....and no, that hand gesture has never been used in Freemasonry for anything.

Well, as a matter of fact. Yes. I AM a Mason. So are the majority of those who've posted to this thread. So are SEVERAL other members of ATS who post regularly.

I can't speak for all of them, but *I* don't use that sign. Firstly, it isn't Masonic at all. Secondly, I don't use Masonic signs except for instruction in the degrees.

You see, we truly don't go around doing any (so-called) secret stuff in public. Our ceremonies are private (although the majority of them have been exposed to public view for decades, even centuries in the case of the older degrees) and performed only for members. We typically recognize each other by a ring, a car emblem, a Lodge name on a jacket, etc., not by signs or words. Sure anyone can buy a Masonic ring and wear it, but it doesn't take much conversation with such a person to realize he's only pretending.

I do have to admit though, that sometimes I really do wish Freemasons were as powerful and influential as some would make us out to be.

I have a friend who is a Master Mason, a lawyer, and Jewish. It's like a Conspiracy Trifecta. Occasionally, I ask him why he isn't ruling the world. He just laughs and says he has enough trouble just trying to run his own life.

I'm thinking of a handsign right now...

And its definitely not Masonic...

In all my years, I have never found cause to publicly display a Masonic "sign." I have on more than one occasion resorted to non-Masonic hand gestures... Usually this coincides with driving but not exclusively so...

Just thought I'd throw in my two bananas on this...

I know one PM that regularly uses this hand gesture. Of course, he used to be an Elvis impersonator, and we still refer to him as 'Brother Elvis'. Other than that, the connection is only in the minds of those who still have the whole 'high-level/low-level' theory going on.

Ah, Mirth! 'Tis true, 'tis true!

Not surprising though, since you and I go back to the days when you weren't a Super Moderator...indeed, not a Moderator at all, but a simple ATS Primate. In fact, I believe you and I were once collectively referred to as being "frusty!" Hrumpppphhh!

Admittedly I, myself, am quite accustomed to the handsign to which you refer. Perhaps we should get together some time and incorporate it into some new Masonic Rite! One known only to the ATS Masons.

But then again, if we did, I'm sure some Johnny-Come-Lately would show up and say that we stole that finger from the Illuminati! Or worse yet from the Kappa Sigs!

...guess we can't win, huh?
Oh well, Phi Phi K. A. Adelphon Sigma !

Even more amusing would be after forming said ATS Rite some Johnny come lately hater would claim that we are only "keyboard Masons" and thus unaware of the true nature of said ATS Rite that we had created. They of course, would be privy to the origin, inner workings, and ultimate purpose of the Ancient and Honorable ATS Rite of the Middle Finger...

If they only knew...

:shk:

That wouldn't happen to be a Johnny-Cash-Come-Lately, would it? (God bless Jim Marshall and his trusty Leica!)

I do, when it's appropriate.

The one that Mirth and Senrak alluded to is more commonly used though. Usally when people pull out in front of my motorcycle. If you try to kill me via Astro Van, you'll probably get the finger, and usualy the verbal equivalent at high volume as well... Sorry.
