today was the day magic returns to the public. blossom used it on us and it manipulated us. its used on use so often its not even funny. i cant help but turn on the tv to see commecial magic in my face. compelling me, trying to manipulate my thoughts through spells and dances and music. do you ever notice how advertisers and tv news anchors try to make you feel like the thoughts they are telling you are your own. they try to make you feel like you care. i see ads all the time that have a dialogue to them that really is an inner voice dialogue. so when you read it your inner voice reads it as if its a script and you are telling yourself exactly what they want you to. i think blossom woke us up a little more to the magic that we live in

Actually, for good and bad, I actually agree with the point behind this.

I thought it was hoax from the start and I've said elsewhere on these boards that it's hard to take anyone seriously if they sound like an extra from Lord of the Rings. However, I've wondered whether this was like 'glamour bombing' but on a global scale. In a world as # as ours, I honestly think we do need some 'wonder' or 'magic' from time to time. How many people here or anywhere else was actually thinking 'well, it's probably a hoax, but wouldn't it be amazing though?'

Many of us coat ourselves with cynicism see malicious conspiracy around every corner. Maybe this gave people a break from all that?

Ms. 'Blossom Goodchild'

right now

is she worried ?

is she engaged in introspection ?

is she disappointed ?

is she confused ?

is she repentant ?

is she devastated ?

is she sedated ?

is she laughing ?

is she on her way to a celebratory but very human dinner ?

is she satisfied ?

Well, you and I may have lost little to nothing, but there are a few around ATS who are without dignity as a result of their little escapade from reason and common sense.

And some who have their dignity as a result of their departure from manners and decorum.

And a lot us who have had a bloody great world wide day of sky watching!

Surely this goes down as one of the most widely participated UFO hunts ever!

blossom really made a schoolboy error. When you make predictions you need to be as vague and sketchy as possible to keep the gullible on the hook.

she could have said there would be a "sign" on the 14th. That way every gullible believer would be pointing to chemtrails, shooting stars or funny shaped clouds as the "sign" and claim she was right,

i'd make a better fraudster than her anyday, i reckon i could stretch the hoax right up until 2012 lets face it the gullible just keep coming back for more. hmm i wonder if i could make money from this?

You hit the nail on the head there.

Even if this new movie comes out (and bless the hearts of filmmakers who still strive for morality messages in their work) and a few more eyes, hearts and minds are opened to the power of our collective actions to make things better...there is still going to be an overwhelming amount of "naysayers", jaded views and harsh critiques for everyone to swim through.

It's a tough job trying to offer a "what if" scenario to a populace that is being systematically conditioned to think in very narrow terms when it comes to Life, the Universe and Everything.

More so with the younger generations it seems. They're upset, and rightfully so. I've seen what they're being fed via television, movies and pop culture. They desperately need alternatives they can identify with and respect.

Still, it's a fight worth fighting for. I've learned over the years not to spend too much time with a certain "breed" of people, because they relish in nothing more than slander, creating drama where there is none, power plays and pandering about minutia that overlooks the bigger picture.

They'll sit and dismantle everything that another person or group has built, and sometimes, do their best to prevent any project from progressing in the first place.

This whole prediction? It's a transitional point, not the main event by any means.

Expecting the world and it's inhabitants to miraculously change overnight is unrealistic. Expecting a single event to automatically join the masses into a single mindset immediately is impossible.

I respect the heck out of Goodchild for attempting the impossible. She means well, I'm sure of that. I'm also pretty sure right now there are many new like minded friends being made as a result of this entire thing, and conversations being had, plans being made that will eventually (fingers crossed) trickle down the ranks and help to effect real change.

You're totally spot on in your post. Kudos.

A 'UFO hunt ' ?

Is that what it was ?

Really ?

Or merely an indulgence ? A mockery, even ?

Does anyone believe UFO research and researchers generally, were served by this 'prophecy' ?

Gaining Freedom from Lies

The truth is not found in suggestive innuendo or fantastic claims, but in simple, unadorned facts.

When we deceive ourselves, we save others the trouble.

The truth shall set us free only if we abandon the slavery of self-deception.

Skepticism embraces the blessing of never being wrong and the curse of never being right.

Nonetheless, I consider it better than the alternatives.

I am a hopeful but a skeptic by nature. Would have been nice though to see something extraordinary happen in #ty time we live now

I am not sad, bit disappointed perhaps, but I feel sorry for poor Blossom as she will be hunted until the ends of earth

It was what it was ... and seeing as though we had possibly thousands of people all looking for signs of a UFO all at once then yes, a hunt!

Why not.

The point was that there was thousands of people all looking for a UFO all at the same time and then talking, arguing and hoping about this search, hunt, dream, whatever you want to call it, all together.

Pretty cool I reckon ... pretty darn cool

Well, it's 0919, October 15th here in the UK. I presume the GFL didn't turn up while we were all asleep here in Britain.

I don't suppose Goodchild has come clean on her hoax yet?

No she won't

don't worry

She's an attention seeker, plain and simple

An 'actress'

used to the limelight

found it so easy to grab it

If she'd tried to sell this story to a children's book publisher she would have been rejected left, right and centre

But the 'magic' of internet

and the desperation of people to believe that 'someone' was going to come and make their lives easier

are what propelled her, gurgling all the way, back into the limelight she craves

The only decent thing to do in the case of the Blossom Goodchilds of the world is cross the road when you see them coming
