It was recorded by a very special producer from Vallejo CA in 1994 called Studio Ton, this producer has amazed me with some of the best material from the 90s bay area legendary golden age hip hop era.

...hayes tells the story behind the song on some of the accoustical versions on youtube... short of it is - soldier gets wounded and the morphine induced hallucination caused him to think he worked for the cia, went to space, etc - your typical conspiracy theorist stuff gone awry... so, you see, its really not unflattering to military personnel... its actually a big hit with a lot of soldiers cuz they can identify...

...i dont listen to newage mainstream country/western unless i'm trapped and not given a choice... i like some of the older mainstream stuff (asleep at the wheel, george strait, rodney crowell, texas tornados, johnny rodriguez) cuz it brings back memories...

...i've been into alternative / americana for decades now but not to the extent that i gave up da blues (would rather eat maggots, lol)... heres links to my radio stations, if you're interested in that kind of thang...

...thats the pacifica station in houston that i've been addicted to since it began many MANY years ago... on saturdays mornings they have cajun music - gare ron teed to wake your tater up fast... then they do many hours of alternative / americana... on sundays its da blues and i'm kinda religious about tuning in... screws up my whole week if i miss it...
