lyrics are brilliant
Would think this is something someone who is interested in conspiracies...or politics really...could relate too.

was really just poking around in country which also has played a big part since "4th grade" but thought I'd spice it up a bit with a few other favorites, trains are easy enough

Same here. Dry as a bone...big fire burning south of town...almost 3000 acres at the moment.
However, I have a leak in my roof. Isn't fixed yet, but the roofing guy was running around on it this morning.
The estimate will go to the landlord, not me...

Rain would be a blessing.

I really like this sound.
the guitar had a bit of a steel drum effect? Or were there steel drums somewhere in the background.
whatever it is, I've been looking up other stuff of his. any recommendations?

Forgot to mention how awesome this song is.
I saw them do it live in about 83...on a comeback tour..
It was really the best concert I;d ever seen.
The small venue, and the audience feedback, knowing every lyric to every song..It was very magical.
You could tell the guys were feeding off the audience...so much fun..

South African band called Mango Groove.
They followed a tough path from the late 1980s, and they're still going.
They are so beautiful to me.
Apologies, we never made good videos, and the white female singer was never pin-up material.
But whatever song I hear - it takes me right back home.

In 1992 Clegg's former band-member, Dudu Zulu was shot in the back with 9 bullets of an AK47.
en.wikipedia.org...

They say this song was originally written for him.
It's called: "The Crossing".

Savuka - The Crossing (English and isiZulu lyrics):

Through all the days that eat away
At every breath that I take
Through all the nights I’ve lain alone
In someone else’s dream, awake
All the words in truth we have spoken
That the wind has blown away
It’s only you that remains with me
Clear as the light of day

Chorus: o siyeza, o siyeza , sizofika webaba noma
(we are coming, we are coming, we will arrive soon)
O siyeza, o siyeza, siyagudle lomhlaba
(we are coming, we are coming, we are moving across this earth)
Siyawela lapheshaya lulezontaba ezimnyama
(we are crossing over those dark mountains)
Lapha sobheka phansi konke ukhulupheka
(where we will lay down our troubles)

A punch drunk man in a downtown bar
Takes a beating without making a sound
Through swollen eyes he sways and smiles
’cause none can put him down
Inside of him a boy looks up to his father
For a sign or an approving eye
Oh, it’s funny how those once so close and now gone
Can still so affect our lives

Chorus

Take me now, hold me close
Don’t let go, I’m coming home

Chorus

TV signoffs
remember when TV stations actually signed off for the night?

Here is one I remember

More of a poem, and I think there may have been a couple made. But this is the one that played in Wash DC.

This song was used in another station's signoff in DC...But the accompanying video was that of Apollo Astronauts
Walking and riding the rover around on the moon. I cannot find that actual video. It was breathtaking to watch.
And was followed by the phrase, "America, good night"

did any of your stations have a memorable nightly signoff?
