Yes I would.

Well I was just curious, seeing as how a member that supported my conservative position was asked the same question. Via u2u. By a Super Mod.

Frankly I don't care about Obama or McCain, in fact I'm not even American. I DO care about ATS and these threads bring the intelligence curve on the board to near zero.

Well, there are plenty of Bush-bashing threads around where you can use your talents to address the problem.

And what makes you think he isn't a conservative? Because he doesn't want to wallow in the mud?

So, conservatives like to wallow in the mud? Nice "community building" there, pal.

Reread that and you'll have your answer.

I take away two negatives, and here is what is left:

Which is exactly the opposite of what I said. Another problem with some here. Believing and creating what isn't there.

The Golden Rule Of Posting

This thread is thick with irony, and although it illustrates a problem, it also suggests a solution.

Post unto others as you would have them post unto you.

That is to say, the Golden Rule applies to discussion forums just as it applies to all other aspects of life.

If you don't like the way another member is posting, it's okay to ignore it if you want. As KrazyJethro has correctly pointed out, threads sink or swim based on whether they garner responses.

And hey, let's face it: there's no shortage of posts that are just too insipid to merit a response. So by all means vote with your feet.

But far more importantly, if you do choose to respond, why not respond the way you would want others to respond? Whatever it is you would like to see more of on ATS, do it yourself. Lead by example.

No matter what the topic may be, give it your best. Make every post the best you can make it, and make every post count.

Is it worth the effort? I think so.

Your Mileage May Vary, but that's okay.

It's all part of the process.

Sorry, it is the logical equivalent of what you said.

Removing one negative would have negated your statement.

Good Grief, why are you changing Intrepids words?

Freedom of speech ends with your own.

Wait, why are we STILL fighting amongst ourselves? The remnants are old school members, why continue.

Is there something we could think up?

Can we make a change and attack the problem together?

I discuss politics (or lately just read because I'm disgusted by the time I get to where I would post) more often than any other topic

You're just frustrated because not everyone is bending into your wishes. If the person is intelligent and making very good points which negate your beliefs, you quickly call them Trolls. An easy exit for you.

If you don't like the way the political threads are then don't take part. It's as simple as that.

Despite what you may think, the Decision 2008 forum is the hottest on ATS.

Each individual has to make a choice and do his or her best to bring ATS up, and treat other members with respect. It's not something that can be enforced in an environment where free expression is valued.

IMO.

I just saw this .. and the all the Alien abduction and ghost stories on ATS don't?? Give me a break.

As someone stated, there are plenty of Bush/McCain bashing threads "John McCain is Racist" that are beyond rediculous yet you have nothing to say about those. Stay out of US politics if you claim neutral, which obviously you're not.

What's your point and how does it relate to this topic?

Hmm, second neocon that has accused me of something without proving it(Waiting on yours JSO). Is that all you guys have? Innuendo and attack?

Like I said earlier, no prob, the reader sees what's going on.

The OP is a Libertarian, not a liberal, and apparently not an Obama supporter, but a Ron Paul/Bob Barr supporter.

There are more political positions out there (and certainly on ATS) than "liberal" and "conservative"

This attempt to divert the thread and put words into other people's mouths is tiresome.

Also, I'll repeat, personally I don't like the silly trash-talk threads.
Whoever they're aimed at, my candidate or not - and I've put my posts where my mouth is, including speaking out against unfair "McCain trashing": for instance here and here.

I could not agree with you post more, and i'm really glad this thread has been started.

I've occasionally been suckered in by trolls who were just posting some totally rediculous stuff. I mean people just taking jabs!!!

It's sometimes hard for me to let it go too. If i'm fully engaged in a thread and then some jackass comes in and starts lowering the quality of board conversation it really gets to me... becasue now every one is focused on trying to shut that guy up and not on the topic... especially when its something i feel strongly about, its hard not to let emotions get involved when the negative TROLL energies start going. Any who as of now i will be ignoring and not acting on reflex to board trolls... Good thread.

O by the way i went out and bought this stuff and sprayed my whole computer with it.

Phew, I couldn't take it anymore. I was wilting inside just waiting for someone to find me out. Thanks man, now I'm free to run around rampantly labeling trolls at will for disagreeing with me.

Sheesh, next time I want someone to tell me about me, I'll certainly look you up.

Until then, support your assertion or give over. Your post is built on sand at best.

So you think throwing gas on the fire will remedy the situation? Referring to other posters as trolls, is being a troll yourself don't you think? What happened to T&C rules?

Because you disagree with someone does not make them a troll, it simply means you disagree with them..

I think your picture violates the posting rules for avatars and images as well..

  • No persons pointing weapons at the viewer of the image.
  • No images that are taunting in nature toward any person or group of persons.

Better Sand than Glass Krazy (such as this thread is).

Why don't you go post in the new thread titled "Hitler would vote for McCain and MLK Jr. would vote for Obama".

Is this not the kind of threads you are talking about? If not, then quit your crying. Man-up Dawg, man-up.

My post had no intention of throwing gas on the fire. It's true, almost every message board on this sight has some body trying to bring it down.

The people that try to derail and make people angry are trolls, hence the troll spray. Sorry if it rubbed you the wrong way.... maybe you were effected by its contents!!! that was a joke please dont be mad at me

I think that's exactly the kind of thread he's saying should be ignored and allowed to die, which is why he's not posting in it.

Same reason I'm not posting in it.

It's a silly trash talking name calling thread that has nothing to do with the real issues.
