1st of all - you made the same connection I did. Radio station + UFO story + Vegas + Morons MIGHT = Exposure

Simple equation. I doubt there's a legion of people who actually viewed this are being shunned by media....

Battelle has many facilities in the United States. They have private AND government sectors. Yes they have been involved in aviation and many other "top secret" things.

The little clip is nice but it adds nothing to this story (and that's all it is at this point, a story) that we didn't already know.


We have no material evidence of anything whatsoever. Apparently this Hayes guy at least casually knows "houseboat Bob" as well as where he likely stays......so......why hasn't anyone asked about the purported impact sight? Ya know, ask Bob to point in the direction of the flash and then go look in that direction for signs of disturbance, etc.


I dunno, seems simple all enough to me. But, two months on and it doesn't appear there's been just a heck of a lot of research on this one: Knapp did his little TV bit and Howe hasn't done anything independently, so, what to make of that?


OT, but did that Hayes character give anyone else the heebie-jeebies?

I was in the Black Rock Desert (NV) this weekend and we witnessed two HUGE falling stars Friday night. These were like nothing I've ever seen before. They burned GREEN and long, covering the entire sky. The second one broke into several pieces in the end.

OK, so I guess I may have witnessed this. The first falling star must have been around 12 or 1am. Then the next one was probably at least an hour later, maybe more. I'm sorry, I didn't read the entire post, so if others saw this too and I'm a day late and dollar short on the conversation here, sorry. None the less, we saw two GIANT falling stars that burned GREEN across the sky. Neither looked like they went all the way to the ground, and the second one broke up in pieces. Too cool, I may have witnessed a possible UFO crash. Great, now I'm not going to answer the door!

There were three cars full of people that saw this, so I don't know if it was a UFO or what, but I believe the OP about the streak of light.

Oh, on another note, I never saw any other air activity after the falling stars. We were just North of Gerlach, and the second falling star we saw was to the East, traveling South to North. I know this because we had set up camp, and the lights to Gerlach were to our right, and the train tracks were straight across the playa from us.

Any questions let me know. I'll keep an eye on this thread for sure!

Ok, I read the entire thread and I'm TOTALLY confused. On one hand, you have people talking about reading the "other" thread on the subject that apparently happened months ago, then you have this thread stating Aug 1st, then you have people saying deja vu. What we saw for SURE happened Friday night, two giant crazy long GREEN falling stars, at least an hour apart or so, that were HUGE. I'm a sky watcher, and these were the badest things I've ever seen in the sky, period. Yes, it looked like re-entry type stuff, but as I said before, they did not look like they trailed all the way to the ground, and the second one broke up a lot at the end.

So, did anyone else actually see these two green trails Friday night? Did anything actually hit the ground Friday night? Or, if this happend months ago, or days before we saw these, apparently whatever this thing is, pieces are still falling from it, and they are GREEN.

What type of metals burn green on re-entry?

aliens have been around since the egyptian time and made contact again in the 1940's. possibly we could experience the "war of worlds" the govt has been #in wit aliens in underground facilities since the start of the 40s. i believe the heads of the world are in constant communication with aliens and are being tricked by them to go create world war 3, to put earth in a valunerable situation so the aliens can then come and take over. Notice the man on the boat who actually saw what hit the water, cant be found.

Well, after we have searched and searched, there does not seem to be any mention anywhere about what we saw "Friday" night, which was the 1st of August. I was all excited because I thought we had seen what LH posted, but seeing that the news story was old, and the fact that at least the second object we saw was traveling AWAY from the needles area, I guess we're dead in the water. I personally only caught the last half of the 1st one and can't say exactly which way it headed, other than down!

We have a "Find me Spot" unit, that tracked our trip via sattellite to the Black Rock Desert, and it shows our camp, surrounding trips etc., if anyone cares to see exactly where we were when we saw these.

Also, why was the original post edited? When I first saw this, there were a lot more links and story to it in the original post. Now it only has a link to the blog spot. No wonder people hear are saying Daja Vu, as now I'm freaking getting it too.

Still no one has chimed in as to what metals burn green on re-entry. I would think the amount of brilliant people we have here on this site, at least one would chime in. Or, is it so silly simple that it's not worth their time. I've been a skywatcher, back packer, camper all my life, and this is the FIRST and only time I've witnessed something like this. I've seen numerous meteor showers, etc. White yes, never green.

I live in Las Vegas, across the street from the air force base.
Possible Experimental Aircraft Crash is what I think happened.
f15 crashed already this week.
There is REDFLAG training going on, so jets are constantly in the air doing combat training.

Vanished That is the way they keep the lid on... the audience is like the Roman Coliseum... they want fresh blood and yesterday is forgotten quickly...

Just try to find the old news report The best we get here is a bunch of "That is way cool" posts with "Now they will have to listen" attached and a bunch of "This is Bull Poop" with "The guy who saw it is NUTS" attached... then they move to the next room and do it all over again...

Well, you have it correct there for sure. That is the way it always is.

I just find it interesting that we see something very similar roughly two weeks later in the desert. Like I said before, I've seen lots of things in the sky, but never a bright green streak that covered the entire sky.

I'll bet that whatever fell by Needles was nothing more than an old Satellite, and that we caught some of the same Satellite falling from orbit.

Of course, if you know just how big the Black Rock Desert is, there is a good chance that there are some fragments out there somewhere. That would be a cool find eh?

Where is trailer park Bob or whatever the guys name was that saw the Needles crash ?!?!? Someone take a drive out there and ask him what up.

I did years ago in Northern Canada HUGE meteorite bolloid actually bright green lit up the sky... I was inside a restroom at a camp and the sky lit up I had time to get outside and still watch as it exploded into many pieces...

That would be a cool find eh?

Or a 'hot' find... don't forget that those military and many NASA birds contain PLUTONIUM RTG's Cassini had 72 lbs of it (Nagasaki bomb had 12 lbs) Not the kind of thing you want to leave lying around in the desert...

Maybe a check of the satellite tracker sites is in order here, but if it was a secret bird... then that would also explain them being on the scene in minutes...

I just love the journalist in the video. She makes it a point to say "it kinda looks like a weather balloon," thanks for your expert advice, girl who reads the news off of a teleprompter!

I also liked how she was sure to point out the fact that UFO videos are always SO interesting until two weeks later when you find out what it REALLY was, then you think "oh yeah, that makes sense."

I'm glad news lady is on her game! Way to be a journalist!

My hypothesis about the light:

Some kind of 'optical stealth' malfunction. Optical stealth is, in practice, emitting and shading light reflected from an aircraft to lower contrast versus background. Like radar stealth, it makes things harder to see, not impossible.

It isn't a Romulan cloaking device, more like active camouflage for aircraft knowing typical viewers, distances, colors and lights.

It can make it less easily visible from a distance.

A glowing turquoise shroud would be highly effective in daytime, for example for a reconaissance or missile-loitering UAV.

Lights, or a chemical emission? I don't know.
