Maybe, it's something like that which happened with the 1947 Roswell incident. One day the newspaper read "UFO Crashed and ET Bodies Recovered" and the next day, due to updated military orders, it read "Weather balloon not UFO crashed"...

Maybe, this FOXnews news has been changed before it could even broadcast? I'm sure there's a lot of monitoring on media by higher-ups and they weren't expecting that or maybe they decided to not allow for the news report to go through.

I'm just guessing.

Some stories are definitely killed for reasons such as, just not ready, or running out of time.

Very rare is it that a story that is in a news tag is completely killed, but it has been known to happen.

The factor of this that leads me to confusion on this for 1veritas is its a local news station... if that one is running it, the same package would run on all the local fox stations for a story that would be that big. Unless that station had exclusive rights on the story... unfortunately the cable/satellite FOXnews channel would scoop them way before they had time to air it.

that was funny.

Lets give him a chance, show me the link if there was, it be flash of news right now.
Maybe that was just a supposed news clip in the world of "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Maybe they're trying for another "Orson Welles." Only this time the "news flash" is in a TV show.

How would a Local news station have information about a UFO on Mars?

I would imagine the story was about the ice-covered poles on mars.

Good call on the ice chips. But they didn't say space ship they said a ship has been found on mars. Ship is actually the one word I keep going over in my head and I honestly couldn't be more sure that it is what she said.

It definitly wasn't a part of the raymond episode. It was after the credits and I have seen that episode before. Plus it is the same female reporter they keep showing. The whole fact that no one else seems to be covering this bothers me as well. Thats what leads me to believe its something thats old news to us. And since it's local and doesn't appear to be on the nation wide fox news it leads me to believe some local guy has shown them something, I am expecting a satalite pic of mars that shows something blurry that the person who brought in belives is a ship. Whatever the case I just really hope it airs now.

Well, the reason I told you about the ice chips is because the news I watched earlier said they had recovered ice chips and showed a picture of them. I believe they had dug them up. They then melted and that is one reason they knew it was water. At least, that is the way I remember the story.

Not to get off topic, but not respecting a mod is akin to not respecting any member of the forum...

You respect the wishes of someone's house you enter right?

Constructive criticism is not just blind criticism.

I just ran into this site, and this topic. Excellent site fellas. But I see now that people only will listen to high point posters, and anyone who just found the site is useless to listen to. Did I read that post right? i read it over and over so as not to make a fool of myself. Oh well, it wouldn't be the first time.

Yeah the water on mars story has been talked about for a while here. I was under the impression it was made official here a week or so ago. But in seeing the topic so much here on ats I am not to interested in it anymore. I know I would have recognized them talking about the ice if that were the case. However the fact that that has been on news stations today and it so closely resembles what I heard really makes me wonder. Right now my gut feeling is that it wasn't intended to be said and that they were speaking about the ice, and somewhere along the line someone slipped up. There was just another commercial and it was a new one, so far they haven't replayed any of the reports they have talked about so I would assume they will be cycling soon.

One possibility is that they found the location of one of the missing Mars probes that were sent there. There are several missing probes- Beagle 2, Global Surveyor, and Polar Lander.

They probably wanted to see if the catchy line would increase the ratings, as a test of whether UFO stories should be introduced now. Somebody will probably shrug it off as a teleprompter error.

Everybody Loves Raymond is not on Fox,

i think the following channels have the right of the show CBS, TBS AND UPN.

Sorry, you are wrong.. my station runs it twice a day.

Granted not every Fox station runs "raymond".. but that just means they did not dish out the money to buy airtime rights to the show.

I know of at least 15 other Fox stations that run it, since if we miss a feed, we get them to deliver a backup tape for us.

You can all calm down. They haven't arrived yet!

Our late evening news here in London announced the "Breaking news just in" that NASA have officially confirmed that there is water on Mars, and then they cut to a very excited scientist at the NASA Press conference.

To paraphrase Very Excited Chappy, he said that though water had been found several years ago by an earlier mission, at last they've been able to smell it and taste it.

So... it's official, then... some people can't tell the difference between a hyper-dimensional Star Cruiser with tinted windows and racing stripes, and a teeny tiny scoop of frozen water and sticky sand! Someone needs to put more tonic water in their gin...

Raymond is definitly on my fox40 here in northern california it is on again and I am watching it right now says fox in the bottom corner, I haven't changed the channel since the commercial. I took a pic if you want to see it but I would have to make an account somewhere to post it as I never have posted like that. And if they did find one of the missing probes I sort of suspect it would be more widely covered.

I would have to agree with you. Probably a previous probe. Fox News probably put a spin on their broadcast say a ship was discovered just to get everyone watching only to report what would look like a ship. I doubt that any exploration agency would leak that kind of info, otherwise they would of done so now, and not to Fox News, I would hope.
