www.youtube.com...
What I find funny is this video on youtube which is an ad with a pic of a spaceship in the middle.
Which pretty much says the same heading as this topic.

Sorry I don't use tivo or anything like that. I could try to get the commercial on my cell though I suppose. After the last show ended they showed the basic footage of schwartzeneggar signing his new bill then cut to the lady reporter. She was taling about two different reports that will air tonight so I am expecting it to come on again after one of the next couple shows. If it does I'll see about recording it.

I searched all over your news station at California and didnt find anything captain.

You sure you were not just day dreaming?

No I wasn't day dreaming, I was looking directly at the tv from about 10 feet away. I am still searching through fox myself with no luck. Really looking forward to seeing that commercial again so I can verify.

Working in the FOX family myself.. I called the NOC (network operations center) about 15 minutes ago...

There is nothing about this that can be verified. Nobody had a clue what I was talking about, and I was asked where I received the info from.

Not saying you are making this up.. but, have you taken any pills recently?

-edit-

Now granted, IF this was a story coming up tonight.. they would be tight-lipped even to me as to not release any early info.. but I am highly doubtful.

Maybe you heard them talking about NASA confirming that there is water on Mars? Most likely this was the case.

I have to admit this has happened to me before.Thought I seen some ad for some news report coming on later on tv.And it wasn't what I thought I heard.

Wow thats not good for me. No I do not take any medication and I don't have a condition that would warrent it either. Is it possible that upcoming broadcasts would be considered the news' version of top secret and that it is kept under wraps until the actual broadcast. Still there is a hole in that theory since there was the commercial I saw. I do admit I am getting a little worried now. When I saw it I was thinking oh cool, I bet the people on ats would like to watch that. Now I am wondering if I did somehow screw up and my first topic I post is going to look very bad for me. However I keep going over it in my head and I would swear without a doubt that I saw what I saw.

You said Fox40 earlier.. can you give me the approximate time you saw this.

FOX uses whats called the "Observer" to record all their programming for all local stations for periods of time.

I would be able to log in and watch that station at that given time and see what I come up with.

get back to me if you can.

The whole water on mars is the only thing I could think of it being if I was somehow wrong but if that is the case I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this. the commercial is one of those quick thrown together ones they do at the end of tv shows for the upcomming broadcast. I know it is a stretch but have any of you ever heard of a reporter messing up and saying the wrong thing and it making it on the air? It wasn't a live commercial so that makes it ever more of a stretch but I was wondering if it is even a possibility. I still fully believe I heard her right but at this point it isn't looking to good for me I guess.

No upcoming local FOX news commercials are ever live.

They are shot hours in advance so your local station can get them in the system to be cut and ready for air.

I just watched a couple of Fox40's news tags for this evening, and did not see anything about this topic... but that doesn't mean it will not be in the news cast.. it just wasn't on their evening tag.

Is "observer" software available to the public?

Thanks

That would be a big negative.

Its more of a tool for other stations to watch how others run their station.

-edit-

1Veritas, please don't think I am trying to shoot down your post... you hit my interest big time, and I just wanted to get a jump on the info. Unfortunately I ran into a wall I don't see a way around.

The may have played the wrong trailer. Its happened before ive seen it.
Advertised something after a tv show that I had already seen the week before.
Something from long ago or for in the future for some program they are doing.
Its not unreasonable to think this could happen now and then.

you got that right... there has been more than a few times a previous week's news tag has hit the air on accident.

Whenever human hands are involved.. mistakes are sure to follow

-edit-

Of course I could be just one of those dis-info agents trying to obscure a mistake from reaching the airwaves..

Well the female reporter has been the same. I can't say for sure that she was wearing the same clothes but that may mean it isn't from a different night. About time for another commercial I'm hoping this is it will be ready to record it.

I recall one occasion where, the nightly news said they would have a snippet on a topic that I found very interesting, and when the time came they didn't actually air it. I even kept swapping news channels to see if maybe another station covered what they had, probably run out of airtime for. But it never happened. It is possible that somebody decides at the last minute not to air it, or some other strange excuse

Is it possible that they said Ice chips and you heard space ship? Sounds like that could be what happened. Honest mistake.
