the thread is open and the topic is celebrities and how their speaking out impacts ufology. not just robbie but all of them. That said, the one man that he is, he sure has introduced a hell of a lot of new people to the subject. I've noticed a few of these newer members slowly making their way into threads that don't contain posts by a certain singer.

First of all welcome to this website
It is an interesting question you asked:
Why did chrisonabike come out in the media that he visits this website? Just to make the UFO interview with Jon Ronson containing more information about the interest there is for this ssubject, to make a statement that he is really into thiss subject? Was it a 'test' to his fanbase to see how many would follow..?
I think the 'comming out' was really only on this website as in the UFO interview was not mentioned what the identity is of chrisonabike..
You could expect members that are not neccesaryly a fan would react on that in their own way, as according to me it is always interesting when celebs have a 'comming out', especially with 'news' that is not average on what they do that makes them a celeb..
I find the question that spiritofwandering asks also interesting:
Why did chrisonabike came forward and reveiled his identity, with all the rolling stones that came afterwards.
I have no doubt that his interest for this subject is sincere, but to prevent himself for all sorts of reactions, I am not sure if that was a wise thing to do..
I respect the guts n balls it must have take to do that, reveil his true identity on ATS..! But like said, was that really a wise thing to do?

My point is why would he have to prove who he is? What exactely is the issue for a celeb being not instantly 'trusted or believed' when comming out with information such like what happend here?

I am in a way 'thankful' that this site was mentioned in Robbie's UFO (research) interview, as most probably without him mentioning I would not have 'found' this site. As I was turning 'in circles' on sites I visit with similar subjects that are in my own language, to me it was somekind of refreshing becomming a member here. New people, other opinions..

Why not believe a person in the first place, being a celeb or not, that is not important according to me.

Why, especially for celebs (but hey, what do I know, lol) must they always give 'double' prove..?
Why are people on here so scared for hoaxing or defrauding
