OOOOOOOOOPS ... it's not a birth certificate. It's a 'certification of birth'.
Different document. Close ... but not the actual document.
Some information on the 'certification of birth' is missing.

As for you being a spam victim...are you surprised? You would get the same thing from Clinton, McCain, or anyone running for office.
Dear Friend,
Thank you for contacting Senator Obama. We're glad to have your comments. Barack greatly appreciates the outpouring of messages expressing different views he has received from across the country and from Americans around the world, and we appreciate hearing from you.
We're on the way to creating the changes we seek, but we will only get there by uniting tens of millions of Americans around a new way of practicing politics and a set of sensible solutions to the great challenges we face as a nation.
Thank you again for contacting Senator Obama.
Sincerely,
Obama for America

Once enough rumors are stirred, Obama may in fact officially release the actual BC showing the same info on the fake CoB in an effort to discredit all the rumor spreading bloggers.

Also, I was curious about what appears to be numbers written in ink on the certificate. What's odd is that these numbers seem to be backwards:
Hawaii Birth Certificate trivia:
This copy is clearly of more recent vintage; yes, it's just a copy. In Hawaii, there is no longer an "original" certificate, which a Health Dept. official would copy and stamp as a "true copy." This has only occurred since some time between my second and third child. (I am a citizen of Hawaii Nei for about 20 years, now.) Barack's birth certificate is in the current green form, which is a mere copmuter print out. For instance, my second child (son) was issued in the prior pink colored form which includes an official's stamp and signature as a true copy. These days, that formality is no longer employed, since the form includes various protections against forgery, similar to a bank check. (Although, there is still a stamp in raised relief which does not scan or photocopy. You'll notice some indication of this in the lower-center of the form.) This is what you get from now on when you request a copy of a birth certificate from the State of Hawaii Dept. of Health, regardless of when the birth was recorded. (We do not record or issue birth certs via counties, here.) By the way, the "foreign" words on the State Seal read, "Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono." This translates as, "The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness." This is our state's motto; Hawaiian, appropriately, being one of our official languages.

It seems that there are some different records used. Birth certificates, but also 'certificates of birth'. A certificate of birth is a 'short form' and is NOT a birth certificate. I don't know if what was released was a fake birth certificate or a short-form certification of birth. Or perhaps it was a faked certification of birth.

ONE MORE THING I JUST NOTICED!!!!!
This document is assuredly a computer generated fake.... Real backround with computer superimposed lettering. How can one tell?

I have issue with the birth certificate presented by the daily Kos. Being the type of document it is I am prone to wonder why it has no notary public stamp to verify it.... their are no signatures....not from mom or dad or doctor...
