Excellent points.
I tried to make a post just now but it didn't show up?

What I was going to say is this.. It's interesting how this war has already lasted longer than World War II.

I also see the obvious similarities to Vietnam as, I think, most people do who are intelligent enough to know a little bit amount modern world history.

I thought I would also point out how there is currently all this debate in the U.S. about how we in the heck we are going to manage bringing the troops out of Iraq and whether or not we'll set a timetable/date. Not to mention their equipment, vehicles, etc..etc..

But one fact that many people forget or, maybe, do not know is that there are more contractors in Iraq than military soldiers. Noone is talking about how we're going to get them home or how much it's going to cost our government on top of pulling out the military. That would be a huge friggin check! And, as always, these contractors like blackwater will probably also profit off of the withdrawal just as they have profited of this war.

So, you'd be OK with it if he were to do it on American soil, right?

Then he could shoot up the Quran all he wanted in the name of Free Speech, right?

Don't have the numbers, but how many middle eastern people do you think the Christian soldiers mowed down during the crusades? LESS than 3000? I doubt it. Tool.

Why is this of critical importance to you?
Why do you have a collective hard-on for spreading and supporting liberties and freedoms SO LONG AS, they're used in vain to attack and vilify Muslims in some way?

Who gives a flyin f'?

Your really a lost case. So Freedom of Speech & Expression ceases to exist the moment Muslims raise their grievances and express their attitudes towards the US?
Who am I talking to here? Herr Goebbels?

The fact of the matter is, this soldier was legally braking the law by doing that in Iraq.
End of Story. He is wrong for doing that.
In the real world we go by laws and regulations; that is how disputes are resolved in a civilized manner.

Putting all the emotional, social and cultural aspects aside, he shouldn't have done that given where he is and by what he is bound.

Your logic is childish at best. By your logic, as long as US soldiers aren't as bad as Islamic radicals, they can do what they want? What happened to the US being a country everyone can look up to? If every US soldier followed your logic, there would be no way to distinguish between Al Qaida and the US military.

Either answer the question or stfu. It's apparent that you hate Americans so much that you are blinded by your own bile.

I am in favor of free speech for all people who fight to spread and maintain it. That does not apply to terrorists.

*YOU* are the one whining about free speech on foreign soil just a while ago.

So it's OK for muslims, but not for Americans?

What are you, a NAZI?

I do. Many others do.

Just because you happen to be a NAZI terrorist sympathizer who hates America doesn't mean squat to me. People like you are a dime a dozen.

Your own country has plenty of problems with muslims. Why don't you concentrate on fixing them instead of spreading hate here? Again, are you a NAZI?

I'm trying to get clarification on this. You are too confused and afraid to answer. All you were able to do was whine about freedom of speech in a foreign land, and how it doesn't apply.

I asked if it applied here, and you immediately started whining about your poor oppressed terrorist buddies in your typical NAZI way. And, you evaded the question.

Which law did he break?

It really is ridiculous that this is still considered a newsworthy story. So he shot an islamic bible, WHO CARES!
Should this have really turned into an international incident with people calling for the soldier to have charges brought against him?
Replace the koran with the bible in this scenario and what do you get? NOTHING!
Personally Im sick of the whiny *** Muslims constantly crying over bs like this.
Journalists draw cartoons of mohamed and these fanatics call on one of their "fatwas" to have him killed.
Get over it, not every one believes as you do, live with it, its part of becoming civilized.
Just to clarify something, im not bitchin because theyre whining im bitchin because the actually expect for this soldier to be arrested for this!
Come out of the dark ages already.

Maybe if you were raised a devout Christian, and there were Muslim soldiers in the Vatican, you'd have a different opinion. Also, maybe if you viewed all other Christians as your brothers, and you repeatedly saw Muslims invading Christian lands and deposing Christian leaders, if you saw Muslim planes carpet-bombing your brothers, you might not be so secure in your religious and personal identity - you'd probably feel you were under attack from all sides.

Don't simply replace the Quran with a Bible - replace Islam with Christianity, Islamic countries with Christian countries, re-run history, and see if the outcome is dfifferent.

Judging others by your own experiences is about as retarded as an argument can get, as it only speaks of you, not anyone else. The fact you're fed up with "whiny muslims" just shows your fantastically basic understanding of the world, of the religions in play, of the history of the areas in which said religions are mainly practiced, etc. You clearly think Muslims in Iraq grew up exactly the same as you did - with the same sort of life, with the same sort of events, with the same rights and freedoms, with the same level of violence. Obviously you've not spent more than 20 seconds coming up with your "theory", which indicates to me that you are quite happy choosing such a self-defeating logic over the difficulty of actually using your intelligence to formulate a theory at least based on reality.

Good freakin' luck. I'd point out the fact that your entire statement was full of bigotry, but the mods might not like it.

well i think any soldier on there way to iraq should buy a quran and when he is ready to leave go out with his buddies and a camera and shoot the crap out of it . it worked for this guy he is coming home. and i bet in his home town he will get hero treatment buy muslim haters. i feel if it was his personal copy its his right but if it come off an enemy or out of a mosque then he should be punished because he stole it

How do all you muslim haters and free speech whiners feel about that?

Edit: Also, I'm going to film it for utube. So all the world can see. I wonder what kind of outrage will come of it?

Infidel,

“$20 bucks says you've never read the Quran.”

What just the Koran, or all the Hadiths, have you?

I don’t need to read a book to evaluate the world around me. When a man walks into my mother’s health club and tells her he knows her husband is in Iraq, I tend to worry. He then went on to tell her all western women are whores who should be covered. This conversation took place in a sauna by the way. He went on to describe how Andalusia was Dar Al Islam and would be again, and he was sorry if a civil war took place in Britain. He expanded on his argument to the point where Mother said “I feel like I was being talked at, he wouldn’t listen.” She was scared enough to phone the police. He did this to her while she was in typical sauna clothing by the way.

I was so angry I would have happily pressed his face into the sauna grill and took the consequences. But the police were involved and we were told to not mention it.

I was a mechanic for the 1st ID a few years ago. My brother did 18 months in Iraq, including a spell at Baghdad Airport. My dad is there till Christmas.

I don’t care about this argument that you should give all of Islam a pass because out of over a billion, there fighters make up a small number. The only times Muslims take to the street is in protest at us. Many Wermacht wondered why we were their enemy; they saw us as cousins and wondered why we would fight them. A Crowd Is Not Company describes that pretty well.

I like living in Dar al-Harb. Do you not? Your not planning a veil for your wife are you?

You can argue all day about whether Islam is a threat, but your wrong. At what point will people realise that they want you dead or paying Jizyah for you limited rights? Not all, just enough.

I'll ask again. Obama is Apostate, why no calls for his head while Abdul Rahman had to flee to Italy. Does Al Qaeda want him in?
