Is there now no way to edit my posts after the 4-hour limit has expired ?

I find it neccesary to remove material that I have concluded , upon further examination , to be false . But now I can't remove said material due to the time limit .

Anyone have any suggestions ?

Only a mod can do it after the time limit has expired... contact one of the Mods, or do a retraction in a post....

What is an "ill mannered post" and who decides?

I just lost 1.000 points due to the above...

IMO I see multiple ill mannered posts in every thread..
Does a Mod decide what is considered ill mannered???

That would bother me, because regardless of what anyone thinks. Mods DO have opinions. and rightfully so..

But my post was NOT illmannered, so why should I loose 1000 points??

Hi There,

Yes - the Moderator concerned/actioning any 'Ill Manners' has the *task* of deciding on it.
That said, quite often that call isn't made independently. Its common for Staff to discuss whether or not a reply is deemed as such before any call is made...but yes the call - if independent - rests on the Moderator.

You will no doubt have received a system-generated u2u - you could utilise that as a method of querying the Moderator concerned - or by way of filing a Complaint as asking all Staff the question.

Please tell me how to un-ignore people from my invisible ignore list. It appears to have been dropped in the new setup but the list is still functioning.

But where are you finding the "managing ignore list". It's disappeared from my account information pages.

Is quote formatting screwed in ATS ATM???

I have posted replies with the usual [ quote ] format. but it seems to have pulled my following comments into the same quote...

Anything we should know about???

Is anyone else having trouble with the "quote" and "reply" options?
I was attempting to quote someone on a new thread I started yesterday and found that it left out their name and post in the reply box.
Also when I try to reply to a post it does not show who's post I am replying to in the reply box.
The "reply" and "preview" tags are also missing from the bottom of the page in both the "quote" and "reply" options.
Kinda hard to debate someone with out their actual words to look at. My memory isn't that good any more.

Fine, but I'm happy to answer it here where all members can see...
I give permission for ATS to post what post "a mod" deemed ofensive enough to take 1000 points off me looks like..

Personally, I dont see it because I have tried to be above T&C about that particular member as ATS staff well and truely knows by my many complaints that go unanswered...

I've just glanced at your most recent post, the one which seemed to have a "quote" problem.
Your "close quote" tag was .quote] instead of /quote]. That's what went wrong. It didn't register.

We've been down this road before - we don't openly discuss the contents of Mannered Replies...thats between you and the Mod concerned.

I do understand that it may well be a good 'learning experience' for those who may be reading...that it may well give some indication of what may be deemed 'Ill Mannered'...however it can also just as easily turn into a drama-bomb.

I see you have indeed contacted the Moderator concerned, and they have informed you of why...and also encouraged you to utilise the Complaints link.

just realized that it will not let me edit either.
The funny thing is that (actually not really funny at all) when I came here to post my problem I saw we now needed 500 post to chat.
The problem did not start until I posted my 200th post.
I must have only been a couple away when they changed it to 500.
Anyway I can do with out the chat but I would REALLY like to "edit", "reply" and "quote" again.

My question is, why not?
Do members not deserve the right to know what is considered by ATS to be ill manered?

I certainly don't believe my post to be such.

BTW, the mod I questioned was online at the time of my question but did not respond..Thus my bringing it up in the issues thread...
Is that not what the "issues thread" is for???

Yes, they did have that option. But it seems a mass ban was preferable...

Strange how things work sometimes. Why on earth would you prefer a mass action to sensible dialogue?

Cheers

A number of Staff actually reviewed that post of yours which got hit with a Manners. And yes it was indeed judged to be such.

Staff action logs show that you were indeed u2ued by the SuperModerator - sanctum - in response to your u2u query to them.

Again - ATS Issues Thread is not the place to bring up any grievances and have a big airing of them - that process is done with the Moderator concerned or via the Complaints link.
