Don't know if posted before, but...

Microsoft Security Essentials is telling me that this site is unsafe. It also is telling me that "known viruses have been detected on this site". I have decided to ignore the issue, however it also told me that a certain file was wanting to be run by the site. I didn't write it down but this can certainly be recreated. Simply download Microsoft Security Essentials and you will be told the same thing i am sure.

Thanks, Is this a known issue? Any recomendations?

I have been on this site daily for the last 3 years, as a member, I have never ever had a single problem with this site and addware, mailware, trojans, spam, viruses or any other malicious code.

You got it from somewhere else buddy.

Is posting someone's personal information on board against T&C? For eg. Article is about Mr. Z. And somehow anyone find some information about Mr. Z like his address and tel nos# ... is it against ATS T&C to post it in the thread?

Think so....

Terms & Conditions

1). Posting: You will not post any material that is knowingly false, misleading, or inaccurate. You will not solicit personal information from any member. You will not use information gathered form this website to harass, abuse or harm other people.

I think it goes for everyone though not just a member here but then again i'm not 100% sure exactly.

Ah Never mind SkepticOverlord has posted below.....

While not specifically addressed in the terms and conditions, we frown on the posting of anyone's personal information, unless the person being discussed has previously provided their information elsewhere online and it is freely available... and in that case, we'd prefer a link to it, rather than posting it.

Make sense?

No I wasn't talking about member's address but of the subject (thread discussing a person).

Do we have to have these stories of 'woman frys a rabbit alive , dog eats kittens for lunch ' ? . This is not the nation enquirer magazine , it is for events of conspiracy . It is not for sick tales .

Imo yes, if we gonna exclude anything related to animals then exclude everything related to humans too. No life is more sacred, every life is equal.

You don't have to draw the line with animals . If someone sees a sasquatch and has a photo , then that is bona fide material . If , on the other hand , someone goes and rapes a purported ape and calls it sasquatch and it gets posted here , then there needs to be a point where the conspiracy aspect should make way for common decency and such posts be deleted. For Example.

I did not have a thread in mind to complain about . It is the general direction that is the issue . If you feel that that particular post was worthy of a complaint , then I would suggest you make the required posts to the appointed nominees to address your issues .

If the same rule is being applied for anything related with humans then it's fair otherwise not. If someone posts about how a Priest is involved in scandal or how a particular Politician was caught doing something wrong, then animal related threads should also be posted.

You misunderstand me . I mentioned those two threads that just so happened to contain an 'animal' aspect to them . They were not the subject of conspiracy , they were the subject of a shock and horror value , aka the national enquirer comparison . That is all the question is , wether it is a conspiracy site , or it is the abode of the tales of the extreme and outrageous.

ATS is not just a conspiracy site but also an alternative news site. This means that many topics are covered here, evn if they do not have an obvious conspiratorial slant to it.

And I see December_Rain pointed that out

ATS would not be as big as it is today; if the only thing they had on here was just conspiracies. It’s their alternate news that makes it bigger.

My U2U button is always red and I cannot access anything in my inbox. I just get redirected to the home page when I click on the red U2U. If I click on the U2U under "member tools", I get the same effect.
