I have nothing against a good picture of Robbie on the sidebars, I have nothing against the new cd... or supporting the new cd, or help him win...whatever.
but seriously? My husband didn't believe I was browsing ATS just a min ago... It doesn't look like ATS, it looks like a commercial music website, imho

Alright alright ... I'm assuming RW's label paid for the ad ... and as long as they dish out the bread to make sure we have the place running and smelling spiffy then there's not much wrong with that, right?

Now sing with me ...

And through it all ATS offers me protection
A great broadband connection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the rabbit hole

Wherever it may take me
I know Zorgon won't break me
When I come to call SO won't forsake me
I'm loving mutters instead

A commercial music website with the ATS logo in the top left corner and a wacking great big discussion board in the middle by any chance?

(please, please, see the humour there....)

The only problem i have with all this is promoting mediocracy. Robbies music is mediocre. He's no musical legend that's for sure. he may be one of your bezzie mates on ATS, but not all your members want to be bombarded with Robbis images and requests to buy his album.

The fact that he sold so many tickets to his UK gigs at knebworth is just a sad enditement on the british people and their tastes in music. It would take too much effort for the legions of morons to look outside the top 40 and the drivel that makes up this chart.

Robbie fans can now get excited that he's joing Take That again. Fantastic a Boyband reunion to cash in on the current zeitgesit of rehashing # from the 90's.

I'm a little confused about this topic. I understand the TC re what subjects can and cannot be discussed, in this case (reading between the lines) it seems to be about recreational drug use and threads about government trading in drugs that are de-railed by recreational drug users (stoners).

You've just about got the crux of it I think.

But the most important substance is actually hemp which is NOT actually a recreational drug, though its sister-plant is.

And as is the way of many things on ATS, the "stoner-trollz" may be more than what they first appear to be. (corporate sockpuppet-identities protecting vested interests?)

Wow, really ? Its a tangled old web !

So what about governement drug running a la Afganistan, lockerbie etc ? Am i safe exploring those subjects on here ?

I think the
Terms and Condtions are pretty clear:

2e.) Illicit Activity: Discussion of illicit activities; specifically the use of mind-altering drugs & substances, engaging in computer hacking, promoting criminal hate, dicussing sexual relations with minors, and furtherance of financial schemes and scams are strictly forbidden. You will also not link to sites or online content that contains discussion or advocacy of such material. Any post mentioning or advocating personal use of illicit mind-altering drugs will result in immediate account termination.

2e.i) Narcotics and illicit mind-altering substances: Due to abuse of the subject matter by some (promoting various aspects of personal use, and discussing actual personal use), no new topics on this subject are allowed in any form.

i wasnt going to post when the robbie williams thread was up. it was just a thread, i could ignore it.

but i would like to voice my opinion that having both sideabrs replaced with RW doesnt sit well. even if he is on a naff triumph.

it would have been no issue if a banner ad was placed in the rotation, but you have given commercial time and place here. replacing the boards own logo is poor form.

im trying to sell cars and stuff from japan, i always tell people how it is, i stand up for ufology and conspiracy. give me an entire sidebar to sell japanese cars! anyone want a skyline gtr??

do you see my point?

now i like some of his songs.. hell, i think hes a straight shooter and pretty f&&ken funny. but... this isnt really appropriate in my opinion. other people get banned for this, but if the site owner wants to do its ok..

who watches the watchers??

I welcome the eye candy, it gets my creative thread juices gurgling. Hey we lass' had to see a half naked chickky for about 3 months from one of those gamer ads on the side banner, let us have Robbie on a Triumph, fair is fair.
Also, their site they can advertise what they like is the way I see it.
What is a conspiracy advert? isnt that just making assumption on people to be the same kind of person? I dont think we are

WHAT is it with people today? Does nobody help a friend out of the GOODNESS of their heart anymore? Are we freaks for doing so?

I really, REALLY don't understand... Probably don't want to either.

We got
ZERO MONEY, HAVE ZERO FINANCIAL INTEREST in this at ALL.

We did it because Rob has been a good friend to the site.

Gad zooks... Does nobody have friends anymore?!

Springer...
