I find it helps to insure that I am situated in the actual scroll bar prior to any clicking.

I like my mouse pad for convenience but I too have fallen prey to the inadvertent redirection...

Fair enough, and pretty much the response I expected. I just felt the need to vent about it. Maybe my coordination will get better with this incentive

Okay, somehow it has ended up that our good friend Draves from the "Stop the Drama" thread has been U2Uing with me, and he seems very seriously confused and distraught by what's happened to him.

I have been trying to tell him to just relax and wait out his post-ban, but could an owner or super mod or someone please also take the time to U2U him and set him straight?

Sorry and thanks
- MD

So the OP of the “Stop he Drama” Thread is having a drama event then?
Ironic world, isn't it?
Anyway your better off to use the complaints function to send them a message, rather then post in here. That feature starts a new thread in the Mods forum, and will get a faster response then this thread will.

I'm not sure why someone who has spent the last few hours communicating with staff members has decided to request that other members post on his behalf when in fact the issue was already being dealt with.

There doesn't seem to be much point in that.

Sorry you were drawn into this MD. It's being dealt with appropriately.

Oh he didn't ask me to post here on his behalf - I was just getting worried about him, based on what I was seeing in his U2Us and user profile.

Extricating myself from situation - NOW!

Today i have received more u2u's and profile comments than ever in the history of my posting.

This is due to the fact that a thread in which i maturely and calmly discussed several issues detailing aggresive corporate tyranny, censorship, knee-jerk reactions and the draconian enforcement of those in power to silence the masses from discovering the truth - was closed.

www.abovetopsecret.com...&addstar=1&on=7510435#pid7510435

Respecting ATS rules, i avoided ANY words and phrases which could be picked up by the nanny filters and suggested that all people engaging in this conversation would respect the fact this could be discussed without pointing out the obvious.

Sadly one member broke the rules and destroyed my thread and promptly got himself banned, yet instead of just deleting his post, the moderator decided he knew exactly what was best for us all and closed the thread.

How on earth can we discuss anything (even by skirting such subjects that may violate T&C) when we are at risk of being punished just because a moderator decides that although the thread isn't offensive or breaking any rules, he will close it anyway?

How on earth can we 100% respect a website that apparantly prides itself on rooting out disinfo, tooth combing the facts and searching for the truth when we get punished for nothing.

I have made a complaint and asked for a reason and even contacted one of the three amigo's (but i'm still awaiting a reply) but i feel we are essentially being treated like children.

How can i then have respect for site that censors and bans posts that aren't even breaking any rules.

For instance if i was to make a childish comment in the 9/11 or a ufo thread, i very much doubt the whole thread would be deleted, yet just because my thread challenged a broad range of subjects, one of which i can only assume made a moderator panic then it was closed down.

here are some comments from other members:

I was enjoying that thread. shame really.

I agree with you on the censorship thing.

Ironic isn't it, that one of the largest conspiracies (apart from religion) to affect humankind, and we can't discuss it here?
Rather embracing ignorance, than denying it.

Just a note to say that I'm sorry your thread about "it" was closed. For what its worth, I have lodged a complaint with the ATS peeps and also shared some of my mind with xxx. Its actually quite absurd that the knee-jerk reaction is that you were speaking about a xxx rather than an alternate resource for a huge range of products - not to mention jobs. Most don't know that the better strain of "it" for industrial, medicinal, agricultural, etc. etc. use contains virtually no xxx... tsk tsk tsk. Would have starred and flagged your thread for sure ... PEACE

I sure did like that last thread of yours. I suspected it would not last long...Karma brought it down and was banned for his troubles.

I agree...ats censors a lot of different topics and discussions

When i questioned the moderator, i was given a rather rude reply which accused me of challenging the moderators intelligence (a lie!) and instead of being given a reason, i was given a generic link to a warning about breaking ATS rules (the discussion of illegal drugs etc etc), which if the moderator had bothered to read my post, would have found NOTHING to hint at drugs, as the topic was about hemp.

Hemp (from Old English hænep) is the name of the soft, durable fiber that is cultivated from plants of the Cannabis genus, cultivated only for industrial (non-drug) use.

So if a moderator cannot be bothered to read the thread, which ironically frames the typical knee-jerk reaction to perfection, then what hope is their for real truth seekers?

I very rarely go public with my grievances, but since i have had NO reply from the moderator in question or any other ATS staff, i don't think i've been treated fairly here.

Thoughts??

I'm pretty sure the owners and Mods alike, HAVE to be pretty paranoid of
the govt. as many of our members here at ATS are. (myself included)

TPTB have banned the use of 7 5 13 16 in any way thru out the land. They don't even want that stuff mentioned any where.
Maybe that's the problem.

Question : If I create a thread, can I request that the Moderators close it down? Will they?Without penalty?

Sure it's still illegal (for absolutely unjust and immoral reasons) and so technically against the rules - but rules were made to be broken, especially in this case!!!

Do you think that matters? about the unjust reasons. Why play cat and mouse and lose your license, or what ever you have worked for?

With the FSME badges our excellent members have, can we know what they are FSMEs in pls? This will be useful to new members particularly, and me.

Cheers Zazzy

If you click on the FSME badge someone has in their mini profile, it should take you to the forum they're responsible for.

You could always do what I do, just randomly click (clack
) around on stuff and see what happens.

What could go wrong?

*reattaches his leg and steps very tentatively back onto the minefield*

Yes, it is always a minefield whenever one attempts to discuss that substance, that has thousands of different uses and merits and could be of great import for the future of humanity.

It doesn't help matters at all that its sister-substance which is NOT the same substance is used as a recreational drug, either.

It is especially difficult to mention the fact that the seeds are edible and highly nutritious, WITHOUT advocating the personal consumption of said seeds. (Paradox.)

However, there are a small number among us who are very determined to continue to discuss the incredible merits of that substance, FOREVER - because it's pretty much the only thing that can save the US economy which is on its death-bed and gasping its last gasps at this point.

Even if it involves some amount of personal sacrifice. (Oww, my leg really really hurts!!)

I was going to provide a link to your thread, 'Embracing ignorance' so that people could see the replies you had received before that thread was also closed.

Now I understand why that thread was closed, simply because this thread is where such issues get raised, but I don't understand why it is now blocked and no-one can view it.

Hopefully it is only a technical error preventing me from viewing it.

You know that the admins here tried to let such discussions occur in the past, but every single time, someone had to abuse the privilege. The admin finally banned the entire topic because of that reason, and it’s their right to do so. Personally, I just don’t get the boggle for you all, because its really very simple; it’s their site and they said no more of that topic, period…

Maybe the fact that certain folks cannot seem to wrap their remaining brain cells around such exceptionally simple concepts is a good enough reason in and of itself to justify its legal status.
