Im a big fan the conjecture type threads.

I appreciate the fact that you want to compare and contrast the different ship types.

my opinion is that some of the craft may visit but move on quickly do to a possible agenda. and other hang around as freelance species.

but as for the disc shape ufo's those seem to be vary slightly but have been in the picture from the beginning to the end im sure.

mother ships are starting to be observed and i would like to assume its a direct reflection in the population increase as well. more people on the earth means bigger ships in the sky.

for what its worth however, there could very well be a different ship for each individual ET, based on the fact that one ET would be capable and smart enough to design in his own flight vehicle

Hey LordThumbs,

Good to see you piping in on this thread!

I like the idea of a freelance species. Haven't heard that one before. Very original - but also a bit worrisome thinking that there may be free-radicals out there that aren't answerable by conscience or via a chain of command. They could possibly be a real fly in the ointment.

Agreed! The disc shaped variety of craft seem to show up in all manner of ancient records... the elliptical shape appears very common. Probably the choice of our progenitors.

I'd never though of it that way but sure, it makes sense. If you have a bigger fly problem, you need a bigger can! [joke]
However, if the percentages of sightings are reliable - up approximately 400% on any other year - What bearing (if any) would that have in relation to population growth?

Hey cool! I guess they're Pimping their Rides too. I can't wait to see a Chip Foose model Beam Ship. I can imagine the paint job would be extraordinary - nice chrome molly landing struts and tinted windows with blue glowing LED's on the chassis. I wonder if they come with DVD players and PS3's?

You mentioned "his own flight vehicle"... Does that mean that we guys aren't getting abducted by Alien Babes - or that only the dudes 'drive' the space craft in advanced cultures?

Thanks for your valuable input LT!

I've spent a few days working on ideas for a thread on UFO shapes changing over the last century and while searching I found the picture that sherpa posted on page 1 and it linked me here...

What a GREAT thread !! Giving it a second life...

My contribution that could be added on the discussions is as follows:

The more I search, the more I believe that Arnold's sighting might have been the "flying wings" developed by the Horten brothers back in Germany...they had started a prototype as a glider back in the thirties...

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/bb3b82914b9c.jpg[/atsimg]

It also appears that Roswell's craft might have been a Russian craft...this is an ongoing news at the moment from a recent book called "Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base," author: Annie Jacobsen...speculation but interesting...

Linkie: www.msnbc.msn.com...

I have a hard time validating the idea of the nuts and bolts type UFO being anything other than terrestrial. The plasma ones though...different ball game !!

Don't know if you're still around IRM but GREAT thread, once again.

STAR and FLAG !!

Hey SonottheSun,

Thanks for your input on this old thread. These new books on terrestrial explanations sound interesting. In some ways I find the idea of exotic terrestrial craft just as compelling. I'm currently working my way through a very large book on Nazi UFO/anti-grav research.

I'd have to agree with you on the plasma UFO's. Those were the type I saw rather close and I still have trouble rationalising them as something we made.

The evolution of conspiracy theories also closely mimics the popular television shows and movies of the times of the theories too.

At about the same time that "Stargate SG1" was playing on television, there were lots of Stargate theories out there.

Theories about military bases on the Moon, what's going on at Area 51, and many other ideas all come direct from the storylines of many Hollywood movies.

I remember one case that I saw on a documentary about these ladies, a grandmother with her daughter (and perhaps grand daughter) that witnessed what appeared to be a 'UFO' hovering above the road one night as they were driving in their car. (USA)

The UFO appeared to be in trouble. Sparks were flying out from the craft as though it was malfunctioning. The car was stopped and I believe the grandmother may have gotten out for a better view.

She witnessed several large military helicopters surrounding/escorting the craft, (you know - the helicopters with twin rotors). Later this lady was admitted to hospital with radiation burns. Also, if memory serves me correctly, the car was very hot to the touch.

The case you refer to was the "Cash / Landrum" incident.

One of the more interesting cases but the number of helicopters
reported was excessive.

On topic, human vehicle designs change regularly so why not
the same for UFOnauts ?

Yes they do and it personally drives me bonkers! It's often rationalised away as some form of disclosure that Hollywood is implicit in. Nothing ever comes of these conspiracies yet they just keep on coming... like the doomsday threads. Great topic! Perhaps you could start a thread on it?

That's the question I'm asking. Someone once suggested to me that some of the new types of craft may actually arrive here before the older ones because they will be more technologically advanced.... or 'faster'. lol. When you consider distances of tens, hundreds, thousands of light years and beyond, it's plausible.... but that's not the trend we are witnessing. Interesting theory in any case...

Another perspective, maybe UFOs do not come from great distances.

If you consider that UFOs have been sighted throughout recorded
history it stands to reason that UFOs might come from close by.
